I liked Yuki sushi a lot. A friend and I visited this a la carte sushi join today and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. We ordered the medium roll tray (45 pieces for $44.95) and a pot of green tea ($3.00). The tray came with 8 pieces of dynamite roll, 12 pieces of crunchy roll, 12 pieces of spicy crab roll and 12 pieces of California roll. All were really yummy. The California roll had little crispy roe on top, not sure how it's done but it was good. My one gripe is that our waters were only filled once. None the less, I'm certain I'll return. read more

Great food and service. It is a little on the pricey side. The only issue I had was that the menu says that the Green Tea serves 1-2 people and is priced at $3.00 so i was a little surprised when we received the bill and we were charged $6.00. I went in tonight for a quick sushi snack. When I went in they warned me it was a half hour wait. I said it was ok and got a table. They were busy as 80% of there tables were full and there were at least two take out orders while I was there. The food arrived in about 15 min so the wait was not that long. This is a small restaurant with one waitress and one cook so I expected to wait longer. For a small town place the menu is ok, a little restricted but I find it hard to get sea urchin north of highway 7. The food however was great, I like the portion size and price point was average. Fish was fresh and the chef ensures what he serves is quality. One thing that would make this place a hotter spot would be longer hours open and a sushi bar seating style. read more

Great quality sushi restaurant, especially considering it's in a small town like Alliston. Sure it won't compete with Downtown Toronto or Yonge/Finch or Scarborough ones, however, comparatively, for a small town, it deserves five stars. My colleagues and I regularly go for sushi at the local restaurants (Barrie/Angus/Alliston/etc.). We finally decided to try Yuki and were pleasantly surprised at how good this restaurant was - especially compared to many competing restaurants in Barrie and Angus. Food was good. Service was fast considering it got busy right after we got there. Its small inside but quaint. Location is terrible. No parking and a one way street. Wish they had another choice for teriyaki then salmon. My husband only eats chicken or beef so I will have a hard time getting him to go. :( But that won't stop me from going! read more

I travel a lot for work and always aim to find the local establishments to check out, mainly sushi if I can find it. In a town with very little to choose from in the way of healthy, fresh, light fare, I was very happy to find this little spot off the beaten path. Excellent service, attentive and conscientious about any needs I voiced not only for the current request but upcoming ones as well (requested no onions on the starter salad and she was certain to let me there were some pureed in the dressing for my info and also left them off the miso soup). Spider roll was perfect, as was the tea. The sashimi wasn't stellar, with the tuna being a bit on the dry side, but that was the only slight about the experience. This was my second time getting takeout from Yuki Sushi and it was a lot better than last time, about a year ago. Maki was tasty, ingredients seemed pretty fresh and was a generous size. The hand rolls were decent size as well and held together firmly. There's cheaper comparable options if you head to Barrie or Bolton but I definitely recommend Yuki Sushi as a change from pizza and burgers in Alliston. read more

The food was good but service was terrible and priced to high. I ordered a box combo all maki bento $15.95 and they charged me green tea $3.00. That's insane. I never pay for tea plus the box combo is on the high side. I'll go to my regular location all you can eat with that money. In Vaughan there so many sushi places all you can eat for the price I paid. These guys have the best sushi in town! They are however, the only sushi restaurant in town. Not AYCE which is good though.... Or so I thought. This restaurant is hidden on just off of Victoria street in Alliston and well, ......it should be hidden deeper. This joint is Korean run, decorated nicely and seats about 24 but would be cozy if it was packed. Though I don't think I have ever seen more than 8 people in there at once. It is a small town though. I have been here 4 times now I think and one thing that is always common: slow service. As I said earlier the most I've ever seen in that place is 8 people including myself and a friend. Despite the lack of many customers I still have to wait about 30 minutes before the appetizers even come out. Usually I get a hand roll and edamame. Once the hand roll finally comes out I always have to ask the waitress for wasabi (happened twice now) and for some reason it takes her about 3-5 minutes before I get that too. My next issue: the rice. Its very undercooked. They are consistent! But in this case, consistent isn't good. Being Asian, I know my rice and you may be able to trick some of my Caucasian friends, but not me. I went to the chef about the undercooked rice and he was nice enough to offer to not charge us tax "next time." What about this time? Will there be a next time? Possibly for me because my friends seem to like this place and again I just think it's because it's the only sushi joint in town. That being said, he didn't take my name or anything and it's been a while now since I've been and I'm 100% sure he won't remember me. Fish tastes fresh and prices are within normal ranges. They have Sapporro, Beak SeJu as well as sake. As far as variety goes, it is fairly normal with nothing special or extraordinary. They've made up a roll called the Alliston roll but still, nothing special. If you're in town and you are craving sushi but are too lazy to go somewhere else, by all means, swing by but for those of you that aren't from town, it's not worth the trip in. If you go early enough to Zehrs, you can honestly get better quality sushi there. read more

Most of all, they need to re-evaluate their menu and offer more variety of Japanese and even Korean menu so they can get the local market back - they currently only offer Sushi, Tempura and 1 type of udon - nothing else... read more

This is one of the best sushi places I have tried. The service is great and the servings are generous. We usually get carry-out, but have also eaten at the restaurant. In all cases we have had excellent service and great food. We usually have Yuki about once a week. We've recommended this place numerous times and intend to take friends there the next time we go out. It is seriously awesome and I would not hesitate to eat there again and again. read more

I have lived in Alliston for about 6 months now and have been to Yuki Sushi about 6 times with a friend of mine, the rice is a bit dry and the wasabi tastes like spicy plastic, but other than that they have amazing miso soup and I live for the California rolls, all in all I love this restaurant and will continue to go. read more
