She started by walking me through the color theories behind each of the four seasonal palettes, with fabrics grouped by tones and shades. She also presented Powerpoint slides breaking down the colors, makeup, hair, fashion, and accessories styling for each season. She even showed me collages of celebrities for each one, so that I could get a better visualization of real-life examples. I was honestly shocked because I had no idea that each palette came with its own whole styling approach. I've been mixing and matching this entire time! Then came the fabric draping, and WOWW!! She has such a good eye and really pays attention to the little details!! At first, I was only reacting to whether I liked a color, but she explained to me what she was looking for: the tones/shades that brighten my face AND create harmony with my features as a whole. She even analyzed the makeup I already use and looked through photos of my outfits to advise me what to keep, add, or replace. Everything felt so personalized. I had gotten my lip blush done a couple years back, so my lips already have a tint. My seasonal palette lipstick colors were not showing up as the true colors on them. Karen immediately pivoted and found shades within my undertone range that suited me even better.
