My wife and I had a fabulous experience with ClutterGirl! We are moving in the near future, so we hired them to help us organize and de-clutter our living room and dining area to get rid of things we don't need. We ended up working with Dottie, who was incredibly easy to work with. She set a cheerful tone from the moment she arrived and helped us make some tough choices to get rid of stuff, while being very respectful of things we did not want to get rid of. Ultimately, we felt it was a good value as well. We had Dottie for about 5 hours, accomplished more than we were hoping to, and felt the bill was very fair. The final invoice was also split with the deposit, which we paid a couple weeks in advance during the scheduling process, so the final invoice wasn't nearly as bad as we hoped. Nancy was spectacular for the past two days with packing the massive amount of belongings in my mother's small apartment to move to her a new apt 50 miles away. It all had to be packed for one move to not return for other loads. The movers will be arriving on Saturday (three days after Nancy started), and she accomplished the packing in two days with minimal help from me who had other distractions to handle, so soldiered on and asked me questions as needed. I packed a bit, but no comparison to the marvel that is Nancy. She clearly enjoys the process. I now know a day early that we will make the moving deadline. Bravo! I was blown away at how much Nancy accomplished while being efficient, organized, and rid Mom of unusable items, while collecting others for donation. l had hoped for assistance with packing and expected someone focused and a pro, which is what I experienced and more. Besides doing an amazing job packing, she was moral support for me as I am in the throes of realizing my mother's advanced aging process. Mom is going to need more help with everyday life than I expected. Nancy empathized with me and shared her experiences to help me be emotionally prepared. Additionally, she was incredibly kind to my mother by making her feel comfortable since she has not been feeling well lately, hence the move to live close to me to get the help she needs. Mom was able to rest in her small apartment while Nancy and I worked around her while making sure the apartment was safe and functional for Mom to get around, and even for her little dog. Audrey and her team are awesome! My only regret is that I wish we contacted her earlier to help us de-clutter and organize! My father passed away earlier in the year and our large garage has been filled from front to back with his lifetime collection of tools and other family items. Audrey and Dorrit came to help me organize my garage as a surprise for my husband. Prior to starting, their communication was prompt, friendly, and thorough. They arrived on-time and got right to work. We have a ton of stuff in our garage, and I had my doubts that they would even be able to make much progress. This service did not bring me joy. I would suggest using Cluttergirl (only) if you meet the following criteria: - You have excess amounts of cash you want to burn - You're indifferent to where your things are - You have ample storage space I was excited to hire an organizational consultant - figuring out how to optimize my space was frustrating me, and I dreamed of someone swooping in and ingeniously arranging my things in a beautiful spectrum of colors. Audrey was friendly and responsive, she didn't charge for time she spent shopping for containers that other services would, and she was hardworking - going almost 6 hours straight without a break. I was consumed with work that day, and felt relieved knowing that I could finish my urgent project and then enjoying a neatly organized space. After she left and I started taking stock of what she had done, aside from leaving me with a huge bill, I was indignant. Sure, my place was "neat", but everything was arbitrarily arranged, Now I felt even MORE cluttered as my things were stuffed into various plastic trays, covering every square inch of my shelving. In some cases my things such as books were simply moved from one box to another (and not in a helpful way, in case you were wondering). I literally spent more time re-organizing my space in a sensible way then the time Audrey had spent "organizing" it. When I wrote to her my about my frustration, she pondered if maybe the reason was because she wasn't able to spend as much time as she wanted in the kitchen. Nope - I'm glad Audrey ended when she did, lest my kitchen end up like my bedroom and bathroom. Adding insult to injury, the only follow-up I received was her business manager writing me that as a "courtesy", was not charging me for a 5% late fee because I had waited until Monday to pay an exorbitant invoice that landed in my inbox late on a Friday afternoon. At the end of the day, only you alone can find an arrangement that can best suit you, and unfortunately you'll have to put in work. I think the main plague for many of us is too much junk, and so utilize the Marie Kondo philosophy (which when I brought up in our intro call, Audrey immediately bashed): category by category put your stuff in one heap, then go through and throw out what isn't serving you now, or won't in the future. Oh, and you can search online for better tips than what I got from Cluttergirl. Save yourself the nearly $100/hour charge and the time and frustration that comes with it. Use your money to buy helpful containers and shelving you probably need. And if you're going to hire someone, hire a cleaner - at least then you're actually saving time and headache. read more

I initially contacted Clutter Girl due to the excellent reviews and found they were busy long past my move date. They referred me elsewhere but that person was busy as well, so I asked a designer friend and her referral was in the midst of a family crisis, so I then asked a real estate friend whose referral was also unavailable but referred me to Janie Mudrick, who happens to work with Clutter Girl on a part time basis. Who knew that a complete stranger could make you feel ok during the most challenging time of your life? Our Father passed away unexpectedly in December. Shock and terribleness of a lifetime. If you're like me and read reviews before pulling the trigger - this one is for you! Side note: I had researched and interviewed a LOT of other organizational teams and CG has been the kindest, most honest and talented group, which is why I decided to work with them. I reached out to ClutterGirl 2 years ago and while CG followed up, I never did (out of fear and anxiety and blah blah blah) 1point CG; -1 point Arielle Fast forward to March 2021....I was in serious need a good house purge, organizational help and help packing before i moved. CG to the rescue! I was able to book a weekend slot a couple weeks. I shared some photos of what I considered to be shameful piece of existence however I was assured it would be no problem and with no judgement either. When Nancy got here - she could sense my anxiety and I don't know how she did it, but she calmed my nerves almost immediately. 1point Nancy; 1point Arielle Nancy was supportive and motivating and easy to work with. If it looked like I needed a break, she encouraged me to take one. When she saw I was overwhelmed, she took it one step at a time with me (and led the way). At one point I got on a roll and that was pretty epic. If there was an area I thought was "too personal", she let me handle it. Soon enough though I learned there wasn't anything Nancy hadn't seen and she could handle herself! At the end of the day, there were 7 or 8 bags to donate and several trash bags too. The next day, Nancy and John showed up to start the packing! I imagine a reality show could be made watching these two work together. Everything is packed perfectly and labeled. Clear boxes for everyday items and brown boxes for the lesser-used items. Nothing is too heavy. I could not have asked for a better team! She has uncovered lost treasures and critical documents plus identifying countless, never-used items that were almost easy to pitch because of her gracious and patient manner. "Do you want to go through the scarves now?" she asked. "No, I don't feel like it." "Okay." But to my surprise, for most things I didn't mind going through and sorting and throwing away. On top of her extraordinary organizing and planning skills, she's part carpenter, designer, and visionary--and speedier than the proverbial bullet. Plus, she has hidden skills that I won't reveal but here's a hint: ask her anything and she probably either knows how to do it, how to find it, how to fix it--or knows someone who does. The added bonus is that Audrey is extremely bright, knowledgeable and personable so working alongside her (or preferably watching her work) is fun and interesting. I couldn't recommend Clutter Girl more highly!
