Students do the work, the instructors oversee but I think they do hair, too. The service is 8 out of 10 in my book; affordable cuts and a friendly staff backed by knowledgeable instructors. The Yuma School of Beauty is great place to get all of your cosmetology needs in one place…read more Remember, this is a "SCHOOL" of beauty and the students are practicing their skills, so if you do decide to visit the school for some cosmetic services be polite and patient. The students do an excellent job in paying attention to details required to doing your hair, or other services being obtained, under the direct supervision of a certified instructor too. In the event that you or the student is not clear on anything they are polite and will require a supervisor's assistance for proper guidance in providing you with the best care possible. You are never left alone for any student to practice without knowing what they are doing. Because this is a school the prices found here at the Yuma School of Beauty are very reasonable. Most of the time, their busiest season is during the winter season; when Yuma has many winter visitors coming to avoid the freezing temperatures from the northern parts of the world. It is always recommended that you call them in advance to schedule yourself an appointment so they can accommodate you adequately. There has been a few times where I've simply done a walk-in and have been told that I couldn't get services because they were so busy with grad students, prom students, and or other big events taking place in Yuma that they get booked for. So again, give them a telephone call and schedule an appointment for services. I usually get my hair cuts done at this place and I've had my experiences from both freshmen and senior students practicing their skills on me. I never been disappointed with a hair cut that did not come out well. But again, if it were to happen, it's okay, I will live and I know that the student was trying their best. If you are one of those folks that seeks perfection or will flip if a 16th of an inch went missing from your bangs, or something like that, go elsewhere. No student, supervisor, or client in there wants to feel your negative vibe in there. Oh, and don't be cheap either. Although not required, a little tip for the students services is always greatly appreciated! By the way, there is ample parking either on the street in front of the school or the school does have a decent sized parking lot on its west side of the building that you can park for free.

The staff has always gone above and beyond, and some of the same amazing teachers are still here (which says so much!). They don't just watch the kids, they truly care for them. My daughter went here for a year (from 2 to 3). At 3 years and 3 months of age she can count to 100, do addition with the number 1, i.e. 3 + 1 = 4, correctly identify numbers 1-10 by sight, correctly identify most of the letters in the alphabet by sight, write a handful of them without any help and much more. As a military spouse moving to this community knowing nothing and no one, I took trust and faith in the daycare and all its employees to love and care for my 3 small children. And that is exactly what they have done for 3+ years. I have never had to question a decision, feedback given or advice they have offered - everything is in the best interest of each individual baby of mine. Marcia would give you the shirt off her back to help you, as would all of the teachers. They treat them as if they were their own. My kids genuinely love going to daycare every day to see their friends and favorite teachers. They follow state guidelines, because that is what is required of the facility to maintain their licensing. All situations are unique, and I have had my fair share of unique situations with my kids. They have MORE than accommodated, and made sure that myself and my husband are kept informed. I would recommend any honest and friendly family to this place, they have done so much for us to feel comfortable leaving our children with them full time. Scratches on face and with no incident reports given to me. 2 incidents 1st day of the 1 yr old class. 1 incident right the following day. Another incident the 3rd week with no acknowledgement that my child had a real bad bite mark. They keep 1 to 3 yr olds early mornings and evenings with super poor supervision. Mind you all ages are supposed to be separated. Teachers are only there for a paycheck, not to care for our children. I lost all love and trust that i gained during his infant class for this facility. Terrible and poor care. Horrible to have to leave your child for care and gets sent home with bite marks every week. No precautions were tooken instead they argued that there's only 1 yr olds in that room.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be riding a Harley. The course is challenging and very informative.
