Finding the right care was just as hard; we actually went through two different hospice companies before we finally found Compassus. I am so incredibly thankful we did. My mom passed away on May 12th. Before Compassus stepped in, she was in agonizing pain (an 8 to 10 out of 10), and her quality of life was miserable. Dr. Vega came directly to our house to meet her face-to-face. He promised he would bring her pain down to at least a 3--explaining honestly that while he might not be able to eliminate it completely, he would make it bearable. He kept his promise and did what no other doctor at the previous hospice centers could do. In fact, a few days before she stopped talking, my mom told us she was feeling no pain at all. Dr. Vega truly took her pain from a 10 to a 0. Every single staff member at Compassus was respectful, kind, and a genuine joy to speak with. They don't just support you while your loved one is passing; they are still here for us now with grief support groups and follow-up calls to check on our well-being. If you are looking for hospice care for a family member, I highly recommend Compassus. I can't be at more peace with the care and safety this facility provides for my Dad. The place is practically brand new, clean and nicely decorated. Great caregiver, so many amenities... such as a exercise lounge and a whirlpool spa you can take your family member too. Many places to roam and walk your walker too...Food is home cooked meals and desserts that taste great. AND Yes...I personally tried the food myself. Visiting hours are pretty much anytime as long as your quiet.

Honestly I only saw the entrance and dining area. When I was talking with my tour guide he was explaining the financials. So, I thought people should know going in. They run the place like an apartment complex. They want a $2k NONREFUNDABLE moving in and cleaning deposit to get placed on a waiting list. There were others waiting when I was there. The money is ridiculous if you are only planning a shorter stay. I can see year round or if you are bringing a dog, asking for that. The deposit does NOT go towards first month either. IMO, cleaning the place is their obligation, not mine.
