It's a very well laid out airport with a focus on maintaining that Alberta feel - lots of wood and Indigenous Art. The chairs and benches are comfy. Security setup is efficient and US Immigration is close by after you've cleared Security. Pearson could sure learn a thing or two about cleanliness from the folks at Calgary International Airport. read more

Decent enough airport and clean but the staff are non helpful and seem to make up their own rules as to where you can enter and not enter depending on your status. You don't really have a choice of airports if your traveling to Banff . Our shuttle to Banff was easy to get to from arrivals and getting back dropped us right at departures. Unnecessary delays at security due to poor management. Enjoyed the inspire lounge while we waited to board. Didn't have any issues at the gate. Plenty of food and retail options. Was nice to do customs for US in Canada. Bigger airport than you may think it is though. If your going to the lakes and Banff though this is the best option. read more

I visited the Calgary International Airport for the first time on a work trip and I enjoyed my time there, or as much as you can at an airport if you know what I mean. The airport is very clean and well-organized with decent selections for food, drink, and lounges. I really like the Aspire Lounge that I visited using my Priority Pass. All the workers there were super efficient and pleasant to talk to. Getting to my gate was very clear and easy. I look forward to my next visit to YYC! read more

I've been at this airport about six times in the last three years. It's my regular stopping point for Easter. I mean you run into the coolest people during this weekend-Like I saw the CEO of clutch twice with his wife and two kids-and he was flying in economy. The airport is designed reasonable with the YYC link, and the people movers (throw inoperable in my recent visit). Washrooms are clean, shuttle services and info desk in the baggage pick up. I'm always travelling with oversized baggage here and haven't received a lost or delayed baggage. My four other times visiting was using Air Canada and my recent was using Flair. Car rentals are just one crossing away from the airport. But after making purchase just a warning, some areas after the elevator can be very narrow and if your hauling an oversized luggage like me (I'll show a pic) umm it can be a body bag sort of challenge. Just a tip, Budget is a long walk. Avis is closer if you want less walking. I've had the lounge access before-but as of late Westjets lounge is now open through Visa companion. But didn't get to try it because my flight was at 1:05am... out of YYC. There are improvements in progress. As a skier, I find the experience here a bit unique. I had no issue with my body bag luggage but I watched another patron get his ski gear ripped apart. read more

I flew into Calgary International Airport not too long ago while on a trip to Banff National Park. It is one of the busiest airports in Canada and a Hub for WestJet. Calgary International (YYC) houses two terminals for domestic flights and the other for United States and international flights. I got in really late and didn't want to spend money on a hotel for a few hours. So I decided to crash here at the airport until my ride picked me up in the morning. I found an area with couches to sleep on and noticed quite a few people asleep on benches. I got to walk around and explore the airport for a few hours after my nap. It was Calgary Stampede week, so it was a little busy. Calgary International has retail and gift shops, airport lounges, a money exchange booth and a couple of hotels on site. There is also a nice food court area. Tim Hortons is a Canadian coffee chain that opened up early for me to grab breakfast and coffee at. I enjoyed my brief stay at YYC and how smooth it was to go through customs. read more

#10 for 2025 A really nice airport to relax at. I like that there are shopping and food options before you check in. Nice areas with comfortable couches, chairs and desks to work from. So I you have to check out early before your departure this airport can give you that space to relax, get some work done, internet surf, or just get in touch with your friends and family you can do that all at this airport. You can even take a shower. Not sure how that works but I saw that. I've heard several accounts how it can be frustrating going through customs here. However, that was not the case with us. Everything was calm, the agents were polite and the attendants were most helpful letting you know where to go and what you need to do. After going through customs we stayed in the areas with the nicer couches. 4 hours ahead of our flight we had time. There were several food options it made it a little difficult to decide. Even saw a loco moco offering at an egg food place. Tempting but didn't want to go heavy. I was able to grab a Thai soup and sushi form different food vendors in a food court area. Reasonably priced. Love the strength of the US dollar now. We finished it in no time. And it was off to la la land. It's nice that the luggage carts are free to use, not like in the U.S. The airport was nice and tidy too including the restrooms. Hope I will get a chance to come back and explore more of this airport. read more

We flew in and out of Calgary's airport for our Banff area trip. Pretty easy to navigate in and out compared to some of the other major airports. The international terminal is connected to the domestic and very walkable. Security went by very quickly and immigration as well. Plenty of charging stations are available, as most modern airports should provide. read more

arrived in calgary and breezed through, this airport is small, clean, and easy to navigate. the volunteers in red or blue uniforms (and their signature cowboy hats) add a charming touch of calgary hospitality. baggage claim was smooth, and i was in and out without fuss. comfy seating, free wifi, and no charge for carts, yes please. i spotted repacking stations, a weigh scale, and a cold water refill station too, practical and traveller friendly. bathrooms were clean, and although there's a fair bit of renovation work underway, it didn't impact my experience. a solid welcome to the city! read more

Though I must say the lines get long on the baggage section they opened 30 minutes after we were there at 3:30 am. We had to show passport about 8 different times to different people before clearing to go through. And I had global entry. So that was quicker! Yelp Review 2024 #111: It was my first time flying in/ out of Calgary International Airport. I had a 3-hour layover here and I looked up what's there to see and eat at this airport prior to leaving home: not a whole lot. So, I opted to stay at Elevation Lounge as it was included on my airfare anyway. The gate I got out of was at a different gate from the lounge. I could've walked to the lounge gate. They have little carts that take you to/ from different gates every few minutes which is convenient if you can't/ don't want to walk. With what I saw, this airport is spacious and clean. There's just not much good restaurants. Mostly fast food, wine bar, Asian restaurants (you can't expect good Asian food from an airport - unless you're in Asia!). It's easy to navigate. Hassle-free travel...except for the lady that was in between our transfer gates who told us we can only stay in D gates...stay in one area for 3 hours when we have lounge access? I don't think so! So, we went to the lounge in B gates and went back to D gates 20 minutes before boarding. read more

It's in the middle of renovation and many signs look out of place (compared to my last trip in 2024). The free shuttle between areas look haphazard and lacks the clearly defined layout that I experienced in the past. I don't think I even saw a single restaurant or store at the departure level. You have to head down to the arrivals level for any stores (I recall there being a 7-11). The NEXUS line was quite long because the x-ray machine was having a fit that morning, flagging EVERY SINGLE carryon item from past 10 passengers into secondary inspection. The backlog got so long that they took photos of the issue to escalate to their bosses. read more

Just amazing! After landing we waited 10 minutes for the jet way to connect giving me plenty of time to socialize with my fellow passengers! Then after walking to the baggage claim I saw that we where waiting so I took the 40 minutes that I had and took a nice stroll around the airport after a long but fun 4 hour flight from Toronto eventually 3 of the 4 bags arrived and so confused I took a look around to see my smaller than average sized bag in the oversized baggage claim! Overall I had a magical time in the Calgary airport plenty of waiting time for socializing and leg stretching for after a long flight. read more

Very limited dining and shopping once you get thru security. Customs moved pretty quickly coming into the country. Baggage was extremely slow when we got in. If you are coming back to the US you will actually go thru customs there rather than on arrival back in the US so give some extra time. If it works out stay at one of the in terminal hotels if you have an early flight. Very convenient with the hotels and having rental cars onsite is nice as well. read more

I am impressed at how clean and nice this airport is. There are so many windows that bring in natural light. We were in Concourse E heading back to the US. This concourse was not crowded and nicely spaced out. Because we have Global Entry, we were able to self validate with the kiosk and sped right through TSA. read more

Flying to and from US (even with snow/ice everywhere on the ground) was a breeze, seems like a very competently run airport. Restrooms are very nice and didn't seem too busy. This is a modern, spacious, airy, and chill airport.  I liked it a lot.  They don't use TSA-precheck but they do use Global Entry Pass so make sure to bring your card along if you have one as they do ask to look at it here. The GEP saved us a huge line of regulars going through US Immigration and Customs after checking in.   We saved at least 30 minutes I would guess but we were in no hurry.  No immigrations and customs required at ORD, as it's all taken care of here (but man as an aside I had the longest walk ever at ORD when landing at the far end of Terminal 5 and going to Westjet's luggage claim at the other far end carousel 12!).  Anyway, back here at YYC, it just left more time to putz around, like tasting samples at the friendly Rocky Mountain Chocolate shop lol. read more

Why 4 stars? Because the airport was clean and easy. --- ---- --- We traveled into Calgary from Vancouver and out of Calgary back to Houston recently. Both times, the experience was very uneventful, which is exactly what you want in an airport. The rental car companies were just right outside of baggage claim and just as easy of a drop-off on the way out. Getting through customs was hilariously easy. We walked right up just as the person speaking with the agent was leaving. She asked the standard 2-3 questions and we were on our way. Terminal E was clean, modern and open. We actually ate in the city of Calgary before heading to the airport because the options inside the airport didn't look too appealing. There are a few options, but I like to avoid airport food when I can, especially when the options are mostly just typical. The layout reminded me of Kansas City: long and narrow. When we dropped off our rental car, we walked so far to Terminal E that it reminded us of our hikes in Banff we'd just got done with. But if that's the biggest complaint I have, an airport is doing it right. read more

Arrivals: Easy immigration and customs process I didn't have check in luggage, so I can't comment on that. Car: good walk from the arrivals section. They did wait for our delayed flight past their closing time. Make sure your car rental company knows your flight information. Departure: We arrived via car rental. The rental was dropped off at the parking garage and then we walked across to departures. Security was quick. They do make you take your shoes and jacket off. They are particular about your liquids. Make sure they are all in a 1 liter bag, even aerosols, mascara, etc. You do also have to go through customs. They do have a global entry option. The gates are spacious. There's enough seating. I didn't see any outlets by the seats. Our flight out was at 8am. Not much was open. They did have a few coffee and snack places. read more

This was our first visit to Calgary, so it too was our first time at YYC. My family and I travel quite a bit (well, we used to prior to COVID) and this was our first family trip out of the state of Hawaii in almost 4 years. We decided on a spring break excursion to Golden (actually, 25 km west of Golden) to satisfy our oldest twin's wish to have a snowy and cold vacation, with the possibility of seeing the northern lights. If you don't know, Hawaii is a LONG way from everywhere. Sadly, WestJet doesn't have a non-stop to Calgary from Honolulu except on Wednesdays (they should really look into that), so we had to settle for flying through Salt Lake City with a long layover. Upon arriving at YYC, we noticed that, although smallish, it was organized, clean and modern. To our delight, the customs and immigration process (coming and going) was efficient and effective. The staff was nice and very helpful (take a lesson TSA). Fantastic experience. So why only 4 stars? Well, this isn't entirely YYC's fault, but our horrible experience with Budget car rental really put a terrible taste in my mouth (I consider car rentals to be part of the YYC system). Malheureusement, WestJet n'a pas de vol sans escale vers Calgary depuis Honolulu, sauf le mercredi (ils devraient vraiment se pencher là-dessus), nous avons donc dû nous contenter de voler à travers Salt Lake City avec une longue escale. En arrivant à YYC, nous avons remarqué que, bien que petite, elle était organisée, propre et moderne. Updating my review because I came back through Calgary on my return flight. I think YYC is probably fine/great for domestic flights, but the international line for returning to the states was awful! Most of us in line had connecting flights with short connections the security lane was so long! I waited in it for almost an hour before they magically allowed TSA pre heck folks jump the line (TSA pre heck generally doesn't work outside the states). Important thing to note, all beverages must be discarded/dumped at the entrance of the security line. Border patrol with the actual agents is always quick. The agent asked if you have checked baggage or not - those of us with no checked baggage were able to proceed through to border agents, but those with checked bags had to hang back. read more

As the airport is nice and clean. The staff is very rude. We flew from San Diego and our flight was delayed going to Calgary. When we reached the security gate, there is this lady who is very arrogant. And sad to say she is a Filipina. She has said something and her fellow colleagues laughed after that. Where are the manners?? She loudly said "Come' on people from San Diego, hurry up. " while walking away as if she's in a rush. as if its our fault our flight was delayed, and she was saying this while we are trying to focus on answering some questions on the kiosk knowing we also have a toddler with us. For you lady, how embarrassing thats how you all welcome some visitors/tourists at Calgary Airport. Whats more embarrassing is you are Filipino too. You think you are higher than anyone else? I hope you can see this review as you are dragging down the reputation of that beautiful airport. That is attitude is trash!!!!!!
