Do not go here! Thieves! Sell junk and then charge you to repair their junk and it still is junk. Bought a used Lionel dump car. Was told it worked. It didn't. Took it back. Three weeks later they called and said it is repaired and cost $35.00 for the repair. I couldn't see it work before I left. Brought it home and it works POORLY. Only dumps every five or six tries. if you need a hobby related item ..don't go here unless you enjoy being treated like a child and getting yelled at. I went in to get a part for a train engine and i was grilled as to how it broke.why I let it break and was subjected to verbal abuse until I asked to just get the parts. He continued to berate me. I'm 6'4" 250...I thought about some stuff but he's not worth the bail money or my money so I told him to be quiet (I used different words) and left. the guy is a complete jerk. I knew something was wrong when I saw him berating both a 7yr old and his father for loosing a rc car controller that they wanted to replace with the child's allowance...my advice...stay away from this place... read more

Funny more than anything.... So I go in today looking for an RC Car for my sons upcoming birthday. Upon entering I notice a gentleman carrying a bank bag behind me. Immediately I assume he works here. Thinking he had to put the money away I start browsing. One guy was behind the counter in the train room. He noticed me but acted out as he didn't. So I go to the other room and the guy with the bank bag is blocking the door. I ask him if he works here and tells me- "no, two brothers own it!" Turns out it was the older brother I see here on the Yelp photos of the business. Too funny. I wouldn't return. Stopped in here several times for some basic parts for a helicopter. The first time they were closed even though their door and online said they were open for another hour. The second time, they didn't have even the basic parts I needed. A propeller, RC controller, things that every hobby shop dealing in RC should carry. I was told both would have to be special ordered, and the price was 3x anyone online! I was willing to pay a few more bucks to pick the part up locally, but not if i have to wait LONGER than it would take for amazon to deliver it, and for triple the price! read more

I wouldn't go back to this place if you PAID me!!! The little cretin of a "man"( I can think of many expletives to fill in here, however in the good of public interest I won't) who owns this place has to be the most arrogant, ignorant, and rude individual I've ever encountered. We lost a remote to a truck, and were asking to find a replacement as well as repair the truck. I had my 8 year old son with me, and he kept accusing him of losing it and interrogating him about it. I'm sorry but we're coming there to PAY you for a service and you have the audacity to accuse my son?! WHO CARES how it got lost??? Did it make you feel good to berate an 8 year old and make him feel bad about himself??? We were willing to pay for one, as well as the repairs. But nooooo, you had to go on and on about it. THEN we needed to run out to the truck to get the additional $5 deposit.. gosh you only wanted $55 for a deposit to fix a truck probably not even worth that much, and you gave us a hard time about it!!! So after some thought to not speaking my mind due to being in the presence of a child, we told you that you lost a sale ( and potentially MORE) over not allowing us to go out and get that $5. We left and went to Bristol PA to a hobby shop. GUESS what, chief??? The truck didn't need repair!! It was a piece that moved, and the guy adjusted it for free. Guess you're not very ETHICAL, because you looked that truck over thoroughly and would have seen that for yourself. Yet you wanted a $55 deposit? Seems you operate on the premise of dishonesty and disrespect. What a winning combination. I'm glad that your business is thriving so well in this economy that you're able to pick and choose who you want as customers!!! In the business we own, we can't do that. In my opinion, a very friendly and relaxed place. They have everything for models, have a very helpful and friendly staff, and have reasonable prices. I dont get why so many people are saying they are rude, as when I walked in with no idea where to start when it came to building a Napoleonic map for war gaming, and the someone helped me through the whole thing. Sorta relieved to have come here & see that my experience was not an isolated incident. Went with a friend who wanted to browse the selection; meanwhile I was using my phone to check into swarm. Got hounded & spoken down to like a child for using my phone, was told I have no life, & was then told a story about how this mans friends child was killed by a car because he was using his phone. Yeah, it was the kid using his cell phone that killed him, not the reckless driver. Treated the man with respect given that he was on an oxygen tank, but certainly would never return. Can see why the store is struggling when you make jump judgments on potential customers & berate them for using a cell phone. read more
