Today was the first time I've purchased from Tanners, though it was my second time here in a span of 6 or so years. First things first, the staff was amazing. They answered any question I had. They were very welcoming and joyful. They were cracking jokes like I've known them for years. Every single person on shift was fantastic. Secondly, I was scoping around bucks county for a gun store with reasonable prices as well as a decent selection. And I must say Tanners has some of the best prices around and a pretty wide variety. I will say, there is an occasional firearm I believe is over priced. But having 9/10 firearms being relatively cheap is a solid deal. Gotta give em props for that. Thirdly, and lastly. They didn't bombard me as I perused their selection. I walked in, they welcomed me, and that was it. They were also jovial with the people I was companioned with. And the entire process for purchasing was clean, straight forward, and quick. I genuinely cannot recommend these guys enough. This may have been my first real time here. However as of recently, the staff in the store is not as attentive as they once were, and improvement is needed. Took 2 guns in to them to ship to a gunsmith paid 100 bucks per gun for them to ship them out and receive them back, guns came back in they had me do a back ground check and charged me an extra 20 dollars to pick up the guns I already owned because one of their employees marked it as a transfer and not shipped to a gunsmith, they even admitted it was their mistake and still charged me, seems like they don't mind making their customers paying for their employees mistakes will not do business with them again. read more

This place has definitely changed. Been going there and buying lots of guns for years. There are several subtleties that are different, making the experience different than when Raymond Jr owned. Normally you walk in door and there are sales people saying hello and looking to be of service. Not today. Was there looking and standing around for 20 minutes and did not even get a hello. Guy's don't know the difference between a lefty and a righty gun. Went in and clearly explained we needed a lefty but didn't know enough to know the difference at the time and they sold us a righty. I was looking for a shop to purchase from and was looking at several different guns. The first (also in that area) place the sales people were great - looks of talk, recommendations, personal preferences, ect.... I decided to check out there range as they rent there and I could try out my short list and make a decision. They tried to say my shooting partner hit the rail 6 times and asked us to pack up early - needless to say that cancelled my thoughts on purchasing from them. I can not say enough good things about this place. First and probably foremost for firearm owners or first time buyers is price. Tanner's is the best game in town. I've been to a few different locations to browse prices and I have yet to find a deal better than what they have in stock. I went in looking for a specific pistol and walked out with something I honestly never would have expected to buy because of the price point. I walked out with a brand new CZ for a steal. Competitors have the same gun for $200 plus more. The prices cannot be beat here. The selection at Tanner's is unparalleled. If you check their Facebook page, they always have some kind of crazy deal to get you in the door. The used gun case is always packed and the selection of new firearms is overwhelming at times. You go in with your mind set on one gun and completely rethink that when you see how much they have in stock. The customer service is outstanding. The staff is so knowledgable and make you feel comfortable when looking at firearms. They know what they have and are awesome people to deal with. I'm very disappointed in Tanners today. I bought a firearm a month ago from them and I didn't really care for it and went back with it to do a trade-in on something else. It wasn't a cheap firearm either. Over the years I bought several firearms from them, They were very reasonable with their prices and nice people to deal with, I know there is a new owner. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. The staff is still the same. The firearm I was wanted to trade it for was $15.00 more. The guy who evaluated the value of my firearm said no I can't do it. The firearm I bought from them last month was $549.00 brand new. He evaluated it a month later shot once at $360. I expected to take a loss and I was fine with that. With all the profit he was making on my firearm and couldn't give in for $15.00? well they lost me as customer for $15. I could've just paid the $15 extra but it was just the point I left very disappointed never to go back again. Sham on them. read more

I've bought and sold many guns over the last few years, for various reasons, and didn't realize how different prices can be from just about everyone else, and Tanners. If I had only known.....but now that I do, I feel like I should tell you about it. Tanners typically sells at least $100 under everyone else it seems, with specials selling between $200 and $400 less than others for the exact same gun. I'm speaking about handguns in particular, but I'm sure that carries over to many of their other offerings. I've bought new and used here, their used inventory is equally extensive. For everything they advertise as a special, they have them in stock, at the price advertised, and no bait/switch games. Most recently they offered other versions of the same firearm, at similar savings. I was shocked. What I picked up could be purchased for between $200-$400 more everywhere else. Nothing came close to the price I paid, and I mean not any of the high volume e-tailers or brick and mortar stores. On top of that, trade in values are usually at or above what others will offer. They do not charge as much for used firearms as other shops charge. The best part of this place is that I've only encountered staff who are interested in finding you EXACTLY what you want. No pressure, offering many choices, and want you to be 100% comfortable with your selection. I was recently in and bought a Sig P238, figuring I'd go with the advertised, specially priced version, only to walk out with a much more expensive version (much expensive elsewhere) for about the price I expected to pay for the specially priced model. The owner of the store was showing me ALL of my options, not just one or two. While a tough decision because they were all so nice and priced so decent, I walked out feeling very good about a store that doesn't mind showing you ALL of your options and selling at a lower profit margin, likely because they make it up in volume. This is a busy store, but they still take time to make sure you are getting the attention you need to make an informed decision. This is over an hour ride for me each way, and totally worth it. Selection, price, and the helpfulness of the staff is why I continue to go back. While I live nearby to a gun store and range, they don't have the selection and their prices are no where near what Tanners sells for. Guns are very personal and have to fit the user. You cannot expect any gun to be a one-size-fits-all scenario. To try on a gun, you have to be able to go where they have what you might be interested in, or if you don't know what you are interested in, to be able to see and hold many choices. One will fit you, but only if you have a decent selection to try on different models. They have enough at Tanners, I can assure you that you will find at least one or likely more, that fits you. And at a price unmatched elsewhere. A big problem I see with many gun stores is that they don't stock low profit margin guns, such as Bersa as an example. Not only do they stock them so you can try them on, you can buy a Bersa, for a very decent price, and if you can live with the sale priced model (currently, it is simply a color variant), you will have saved yourself $100 on a gun that has a very low profit margin for Tanners. So they aren't making much money on it, but you can walk away with an awesome gun that won't cost you a lot of money. Not many dealers seem to stock Bersa (as one example) because they don't make a lot of money on them. Problem is, if you cannot see if it fits your hand and you can try to work with it to see if it is right for you, you have to buy it and maybe regret that purchase as guns aren't returnable. Tanners has everything, from priced from high to low, and everything in between. The only problem I have with Tanners is that I don't make enough money to go and buy as many of the specials that they have going on at any given time! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. Gun shops can be an intimidating place for new buyers due to some of the salespeople being macho pricks. My experience at Tanner's was nothing short of perfect. I worked with an older salesman by the name of Paul on my first day when I ordered a Savage MKII rifle which they had a very fair price on and Paul was great to work with. In about 5 days I got a call that the rifle was in so I went to pick up. Paul wasn't there so a younger salesman stepped in and finished up the sale. I wish I got his name, because he was probably the nicest guy I ever worked with ANYWHERE. He talked to me like we had known each other for a decade, not like I was a bother, which many other people in other stores do. I browsed other guns and products on the shelf and the pricing is fair on everything here. I'll definitely be back here in the future, actually once they re-open tomorrow to purchase a handgun my super friendly associate showed me and gave me TONS of info on, not vague answer like I get in other stores. read more
