It was everything we needed and the cost was more than fair. The owners were amazing to work with, and they were easily accessible for communication. IF I had to find anything negative to say it is not about the Arvada Community Room itself, but more the City of Arvada and it's small amount of public parking in the area that they have built as a heavy entertainment area. Most of the parking is street parking and a small public parking lot that is usually pretty full. There is a parking garage about a block away that is easily accessible though. Again that is not a a dig on the Arvada Community Room but rather frustration with the city for their lack of planning.

I am a college student at the moment, so at the time I was looking for internships in the event industry and came across this company. I love what this company stands for and what they do. The name itself says a lot as well. When I made a visit to the facility, I was greeted by almost everyone that was there. This was a great feeling to be acknowledged, even though no one knew who I was. I met with Janelle and she was very nice and tried to help me figure out if interning with the company would be the best choice. I appreciated how accommodating she was in helping me go over my options to be an intern for the company! I did not pursue with the internship as it just wasn't the right timing for me, but I look forward to working with the company sometime in the future!

Here's a quick tip for you - some seats on the Patio Ride are pedal free. I think about 10 of the…read moreseats actually pedal this thing around and then there are 5 more that are just freeloading seats with no pedals. So, if you want to do this ride, but don't want to pedal push just bring at least 10 other people with you and hop over one of the back wheels or in the way back and voila! you'll be sitting pretty. Here's another tip - the seats closest to the front are the highest so if you have long legs sit up there. If you have short legs sit toward the back. You'll be able to reach better. Here's something that I would have never guessed about the ride - no matter how hard everyone pedals you're never going to breach 5 mph. So don't plan on going too far or getting anywhere fast. But, truly in my mind that's part of the beauty of the ride. Here's something you should know about the owners and drivers - they are awesome. They stay sober for steering as the riders get progressively tipsier and tipsier after hitting up one bar after another. Most of these bars are spots where the Patio Ride peeps have set up a deal for a shot and a beer. Just be wary - most of the shots are straight liquor. Luckily most of the stops also have food to fill your tummies. Lastly, think of these drivers like a cab or limo driver and tip them too. How much is up to you, but it's always nice to show your appreciation for the person who stays sober amongst the drinkers so they can "drive" you around town. The Patio Ride is ridiculously fun and I can't even say why. Just that you need to experience it yourself to see. I also hope they get approval soon to be allowed to drink on board because I don't know if I'd ever stop my bike ride if I could pedal while sipping on some adult libation. They have the ability to play your iPod or they'll play their own and I believe they do rides with specific DJs on board if you want a real party ride. I believe the hourly rental rate is $160/hour Sun - Thurs and $180 Fri- Sat for the whole bike, but when you break it out over 15 people it's something like $12/hour per person which is a steal. They also sell individual seats for $15/person per hour for certain rides. And that my friends is my 1200th review.

You honestly pedal and pedal and pedal your heart out and it goes nowhere. Music is blasting and it's usually something cheesy playing but you can't help but sing along ("Take on me", "It's my life", etc.) We hit up about 4 bars total: matchbox, Breckenridge brewery, gin mill, and retro room. We had PLENTY of time at each bar. We had a chance to try the beers (most of them were $5 for a beer AND a shot or $3 shots) AND order food during that time. Our tour guide Nick spoke with EVERYONE on the tour, totally friendly, knowledgeable, and was always offering to take our photo. It went by so fast!! I wish we had a longer tour (We had the groupon 2 hour time slot on a Saturday) to try more bars but it was fun and totally worth the price!

About 20 minutes later they finally texted back and told me to "lift the door up and it will roll to the right" When I followed that, the heavy door came off its track and crashed to the floor. It missed my child by maybe a foot. By sheer luck my daughter wasn't killed. I should have called the police to get my kids out instead of listening to their terrible advice. I've attached screenshots as of text communication as proof. Afterward, the hosts posted an Airbnb review claiming I "berated" them and "splintered their priceless door." The attached text messages show them being apologetic in real time until they wrote their public review. I never berated anyone, but I should have. Other issues: - Strong noise and odor from ducks in a cage or pen next to the room - Front door opens directly into a parking lot where homeless people frequently loitered - Cleanliness below basic standards Bottom line: the door is a serious hazard. The hosts were slow to respond and gave advice that nearly caused a disaster. This place is not safe for kids.

A little family history --…read more My grandfather was one of several owners from the 1940s-1975 when it was an apartment building. He lived on the first floor with the turret, now the gathering room. I remember most of the tenants were females. The original carriage house served as his garage with many old license plates nailed to the walls. The top floor of the Marne used to be an attic with a large window above the stairs. And of course, the historic stained glass window finally got an acrylic cover to protect the bowing glass and lead. The Marne sat vacant for a several years after 1975 with a selling price of $200,000. Due to being vacant, the boiler blew with extensive water damage, paint was peeling with other structural damages. For a period of time, the Marne served as a processing center for previously incarcerated individuals. During that time, I took my 2 year old son on a self-directed tour to check up on the Marne. I sensed an unhealthy, sad and depressed atmosphere which was not what I remember in my childhood. Grandpa took good care of it for years. Five of us kids would play in the lobby, running up and down the wide stairs, sliding down the curved banister often breaking some of the original ornamental pieces, and creating a bit of noise. We called the basement the scary dungeon and often played hide and seek for hours. There are two family dogs buried to the right of the front porch. Also, my grandfather planted a tree upside down with the roots bearing leaves and limbs growing in the ground. The trunk kept curving towards to the ground as it seemed to know it was upside down. He added several supports to the trunk through the years to keep it from reversing itself. It was later removed when the Piker family bought it. According to the Pikers, there are a few spirits roaming around, but claimed they were friendly. Thanks to the Piker family for restoring it to its original cosmetic and purposeful glory as well as hosting many visitors in their B&B. Our family also thanks the current owners who are continuing to keep it alive and well. Back in the 90s, I stayed at the Marne as well as performing at the grand piano for a luncheon. So many amazing memories made in that lovely Castle. I hope you all have a chance to visit, stay, and enjoy an late1800s atmosphere.
