    Rainy day.

Me and my dog Toliver loves this park! The people are very friendly, the park is always clean and the park itself is beautiful! There is nothing negative I can think of to say about this park!

Whether you are looking for a fishing pond, a rock climbing wall or a kids summer camp, you've come to the right place. BREC operates so much of what goes on in Baton Rouge's parks and recreation programs. I have had the chance to enjoy many of them. Just down the street from where I live, there is a really cool skate park, where one could do some pretty gnarly tricks using a skateboard + there is a rock wall for climbing enthusiasts and so much more. If you are looking for recreational activities like tennis or golf, you'll find it within BREC, too. During the summertime, my daughter enjoys some of the camps they offer for the young ones. Again, there are so many, but from the ones she has done, she did enjoy history camp (at Magnolia Mound) and swamp camp (at The Bluebonnet Swamp). So, whatever it is that you may enjoy and fancy, go check out all that BREC has to offer in your neighborhood. No matter where you are in Baton Rouge, BREC is surely to offer something for you and your family to love.

The night lock in night was 7pm to 11pm and I miss every bit of this skating rink,! My childhood skating rink ill never forget. It was my hangout spot growing up on the weekends to watch others enjoy the skating rink now. It was free for adults to get in free to stay and watch there child . It use to be $8 to get it and stop at paying $12. I miss this place so much and wish it open back up again and wish I knew who owned it before it shut down cause that was the best hangout spot to hang with friends and skate. I was teaching my son to skate here I always look at it when I pass through wishing It could open back up. A skating rink i grew up making memories.

Staff members walking around with shirts that say staff are saying they don't work there and don't care about whats going on or happening and have allowed things to just get worse. Skates are from the early 2000s nearly no laces, worn out trucks, wheels and toe stops. The walls are disgusting and don't look like they've been cleaned since I was a child. I had to use WD-40 to clean my wheels because the amount of dust and dirt all over that place. Its cleaner to skate outside.

The big dog park has many benches, a ramp, and a stair area where you can sit and watch your dogs. Doggy bag bins set up around and so much room for your dogs to run. Parking onsite & surrounded by other park amenities (children's playground, tennis courts, etc). I would give 5 stars except the water fountains weren't working and the water that was out looked like it was super old/not clean. There is a wash off station for your dogs and multiple terrain options. Highly recommend if you're in need of a dog park!

Previous reviews indicate that the park can get pretty muddy post rain and that's still the case. Plus, it seems that nobody picks up after their pets at this park! How disappointing! There were so many doggy land mines throughout the dog park, I kept worrying that I had stepped in poop or that my dogs would while running around the park. Needless to say, we didn't stick around very long. Last thing I need is for my dogs to step on poop and tracking it into my car. Would make for a very unpleasant drive. Poop stations were readily available along the fence of the park and hanging trash bags, not sure why they didn't have actual trash bins available. I will say that it's nice that they offer a separate dog park for small pups and the plentiful benches are nice too but all the poop around the park is a big bummer but irresponsible pet owners are to blame for that.
