Parking onsite & surrounded by other park amenities (children's playground, tennis courts, etc). I would give 5 stars except the water fountains weren't working and the water that was out looked like it was super old/not clean. Tried to stop by last year but the park was closed for renovations. Went by today and I thought it would be really fancy post renovations but it was not. Previous reviews indicate that the park can get pretty muddy post rain and that's still the case. Plus, it seems that nobody picks up after their pets at this park! How disappointing! There were so many doggy land mines throughout the dog park, I kept worrying that I had stepped in poop or that my dogs would while running around the park. Needless to say, we didn't stick around very long. Last thing I need is for my dogs to step on poop and tracking it into my car. Would make for a very unpleasant drive. Poop stations were readily available along the fence of the park and hanging trash bags, not sure why they didn't have actual trash bins available. I will say that it's nice that they offer a separate dog park for small pups and the plentiful benches are nice too but all the poop around the park is a big bummer but irresponsible pet owners are to blame for that. read more

Raising Canes Dog Park This whole park area is beautiful. Well planned, lots of space for kids and dogs. The dog park is vast and has multiple entrances. I actually love the stairs and ramp because my dog gets extra stimulation running through those areas. The only thing is there is a ton of dog poop all over the park. Most owners sit at the front and don't pick up after their dogs. Literally every few steps is dog poop. I'm from out of town and all my local dog parks do not have this issue. Dog owners in this area are unfortunately not respectful of the park. read more

Very small area for smaller dogs. There was a grate that was unstable and a little girl about 5-6 years old fell through it. Thankfully the child was not injured but it was are scary . Another dog owner called the emergency number to get someone to come out and secure the grate but didn't have an ETA on when they could arrive. read more

One huge park. It's not separated for different size dogs. Not covered if it starts to rain. Poop bags are not conveniently placed. The dog area is so big, it's a hike to get a bag if you didn't bring them. My dogs are friendly but smaller. I'm glad there weren't many dogs there, I don't see them being able to protect themselves if there was an issue due to one open space. I'm visiting family here but I would advise them not to go to this park with their 25lb dog. read more

I'm usually here a few times a week with my pups and they love it. Best times to go are in the hour/two hours before dark. I say best because my dogs love to socialize and play and that is definitely when the most action is there. If you don't want your dogs to play with others, don't bring them here. The park is very large and has a couple of hoses and an area with two baby pools. Great for my pup who really won't drink water to cool down. It can get quite muddy after it rains for a couple days, but does have mostly grassy areas. People are generally pretty good about picking up after *themselves*, however there are a few regular culprits. But they generally do a good job keeping the park clean. read more

Nice park in an upscale neighbourhood. The plastic pools have been removed and the grass is mostly dead. Don't go there after a rain unless you're prepared to deal with wet and muddy dog. I have, alas, seen a puppy mauled by a larger dog whose owner was totally negligent and inattentive there. You HAVE to attend to your animal and make sure they're safe. There are good people there, but there are also some bad. Lovely place, but sometimes not so lovely people. If you see a woman coming in with 7 dogs ranging from a Chihuahua to a Great Dane, pack up your bags and run. Also there's a man who frequents the park near daily who is older and probably a little crazy who likes to talk in German and tells his dog, no I am not kidding, "KILL!" Wonderful park. Free, so you can't complain! Poop bags are never in shortage and never too far away. They have a pretty awesome spray down area in each area, and even one at the front so you can bathe your dog in your way out. They provide a water bucket and a fountain for the big dogs, and just a fountain for the small dogs. Only cons: RIDICULOUS amount of unsupervised and sometimes aggressive/dominant dogs, as it's a very inclusive environment. Also, big dog owners: beware of the mud pits in the large dog area. Your dog can get a skin infection/staph/horrors from them, and parasites as well. Don't let them go near them! Most peoples dogs avoid them- but every now and then, there's a careless owner who lets their dog get a mud puddle party started. If you go, remember to be courteous of and kind to everyone else using the park, especially other dogs. Bring your dog home if it becomes aggressive. Dont just yell at it and do nothing. You're not there to socialize with other people. Our dogs are the priority! We all must work together to make it a safe environment. Don't ruin the fun for other dogs!!!! read more

This park is pretty nice to visit year-round. There are several components of this Brec park. Directly aside it is the main Baton Rouge City-Brooks park and art museum. This park is pretty kept up, and the location is easily accessible, plus the area is relatively safe. They have some posted rules in this off-leash park such as your dog must be registered with the city and have a vet and be up to date on their vaccines and such. They have a little baby pool the dogs love to jump in and a good nice clear space for them to roam around in. I enjoyed hanging out here but admittedly I am used to smaller dogs and was a bit squeamish to be so close to many high energy big dogs running about. read more

Love coming here. You can literally come at any time of day and there are always plenty of dogs for your doggo to play with. They have little buckets hanging along the fence with tennis balls and small toys, kiddie pools, and a nice drink station for dogs. The park is huge and maintained very well. Can't complain, my dog loves it, and it wears him out. read more

There are too many inexperienced owners and children to make this park enjoyable. I've had my dog let out by a child because he failed to close the gates. Since this is a pretty high traffic area this mistake could have been fatal. read more

Took my dog to this park and I know not to go on a Saturday evening anymore. Lol. There were tons of dogs. When I pulled up, a small dog was getting jumped on by big dogs. I kept my dog close to me. People did not have control of their dogs and I think that if your dog does not play well with others, then it you should have more control of them. There was poop everywhere and no one was picking up their dog poop despite all the signs. I'll go back but only when there's one or two dogs. We just walked my pup on the outskirts of the doggie area. Other than that, it wasn't a bad park. read more

I took my dog there today and she had a blast running around. There is a good amount of space and the other dogs and owners were friendly. You could also walk to the far side of the area as one owner did to stay away from the other dogs if needed which is good that there is enough space for that. There is also plenty of place to get your dog water and hoses to wash them off, which my dog definitely needed as she decided lying down in the mud was great idea . We will definitely be going back. The reason I'm giving only 4 stars is because I wish there was more grass and less dirt and sand. read more

Been here a few times with my two pups since I moved to the area in May. I'm about to just give up. It's AWFUL! There is dog poop literally everywhere (that pet parents are not cleaning up) and barely any grass. Tons and tons of mud holes. Also not big enough for the popularity of the area. I'd rather take a drive to Burbank or Highland park with my fur babies so they're not having to run through mounds of other dogs poop. read more

This is a great dog park! It is situated next to a park so it could turn out to be a great day for any families with children and dogs. There are a lot of benches all around the park and a huge tree in the middle for shade. The park also has a spray down area for your dog and a couple of plastic pools for any pup to lounge in. read more

Soon as we walked to the gate with our two dogs, One of our dogs was brutally attacked by a pit bull and the owner just didn't give a shit. I fought the dog off but my dog could've almost died, thankfully the hospital was up the street and we took legal action against the pit bull owner as well !! Overall it's a nice park but you have to be super careful & watch your dogs especially if they are small. read more
