Dear Zales, While I was traveling my partner for life popped in here to surprise me with a ring. On March 2nd he proposed with a ring he purchased here. The ring is beautiful, he did a good job. It was too big though. A week later we brought the ring in to be resized and were given a ready date of March 28th. But then of course, Covid-19 happened. I called periodically throughout the month of April and May, never once getting an actual person. Just your recording on repeat. Husband got my wedding ring here, 2 diamonds fell out within the first year. Even though we have a "lifetime warranty" that's supposed to include free reshaping and resizing, they won't do the metal work without paying for the diamond replacement. I paid them to replace the diamonds and they sent it back without resizing it which is what I sent it in for. I didn't care about the diamonds. Well the same two diamonds have fallen out again within another year, and I need it reshaped because I bent it at work and it hurts to put on and take off. I took it in, they said I can't get the metal work done without replacing the diamonds even though I've already replaced those two exact diamonds before. Never buying anything from any Zales ever again. This is BS. I wish I could give no stars, I feel very ripped off. My expensive diamond wedding ring looks like absolute shit. I will be going to a custom jeweler from this point forward. Don't get sucked into their warranty scam. read more

Went in for the "huge" July 4th sale. We looked at a moderate engagement ring and enhancement. Nothing big or real flashy. When she said $33 on sale out the door. We were thinking the sale is as promised and $3,300 was an excellent deal. Ummm that would be $33,000 and the original cost was $61,000. Zales sent my rings to signet jewelers for the repairs. Which zales owns. Signet managed to break a diamond not to mention they won't even talk to me. Looks like I will be going about this another way. I would take my jewelry to someone else. If u can find a Kmart they would do a better job repairing your items. This place is a joke to say the least!!! Not to mention the sales people and the manager were all rude and unwilling to do anything to help make this right. . I saw that they were getting some bad reviews, but I had a great experience w them. I had bought my wife a ring online. One of the stones came out within a week. We took it up there to get repaired and at first it was a hassle but the manager and the sales staff helped tremendously. We ended up getting a new ring and we were extremely happy. I was very impressed with the customer service that Chelsea gave my best friend. He was in the market for a diamond ring. He wasn't even planning on buying a ring at this place. But the customer service and expertise of Chelsea showing him different rings really made him buy the ring. It took him less than 30 minutes to choose what he wanted. My experience with Zales has been extremely disappointing. I purchased a new wedding ring for my wife in late November. The company was advertising 50% off for black Friday and I was excited to take advantage of the deal. The purchasing process was enjoyable and the sales associate was very knowledgeable and helpful. When I picked the ring I wanted she discussed the perks they offer like cleanings and repairs. This is when my expectations were sent off course. I was told for cleanings and repairs the ring had to be sent to a jeweler and it would typically take two to four weeks. For a cleaning that seemed a bit excessive but given the great deal I was fine with it. Here is where the disappointment begins. The ring needed to be resized and my wife is fairly petite so it took a little longer to get down to a size 4 because it's not a standard size, again this is understandable because it's out of the norm. When we get the ring back it's mid December. My wife is a home maker and we don't go out often because we have four kids so the ring wasn't worn regularly. Late January she noticed one of the prongs had come off and it was missing one of the main diamonds. This was very surprising and a little frustrating since she had worn it less than ten times but, I knew that Zales would repair it free of charge and it should only take two to four weeks. On January 29th I took the ring in and was told because it was a special setting it will take longer than the two to four weeks I was originally expecting and my expected date to have it back was March 19th and at most it would be 90 days. My wife and I have called multiple times for updates and every time the expected return date is pushed back a little further. The current estimation is around the end of May. Today is exactly three months from when I took the ring in for repair and I still do not have anything more than an estimation exceeding the guaranteed 90 days. I'm in no way confident that the date will not continue to be pushed when the end of May approaches. To put an end to our frustrations, I went to the store today to request a refund and was denied; There is a 30 day return policy and it cannot be bypassed. When speaking with the manager I realized very quickly she had no interest in actually resolving the situation. When I asked her for another escalation path she said the only thing she could do is give me the corporate office number. When I asked for her supervisors number she responded with "I don't even have that". So, I asked how I can get in contacted with that person and was told that person was on vacation and she could follow up Monday. Side note: when you call the corporate number there will be a hold time, don't bother selecting the call back option because when it calls you back you will be put on hold for the next available agent. In my case today I was on hold with the call back for longer than it said it would take if I had waited from the first call. As of now I am still making payments on a ring that is not in my possession. In fact, I'm a couple days away from making the 6th payment on a ring that my wife has only been able to have for less than six weeks. At this point, I don't want the ring back because if it breaks again I have no trust in a timely repair. I just want my money back. I understand there is a need for a strict policy limiting the days for a purchase to be returned. There also needs to be a strict policy for how long Zales can keep someone's jewelry before they have to refund the purchase. I was under the assumption 90 days was where that line would be, but apparently not. At what point does this become criminal? I have a case open with corporate to resolve this but I'm going to keep my expectations low this time. I caution anyone considering making a purchase from Zales to think twice before doing so. If you have to take advantage of their "Free Repair" perks be prepared for potentially unending frustrations. read more

We have had nothing but problems. Store manager talking to my wife like she's a child Like "your ring is so widdle!" Baby talk! My wife was not amused. Then they lost her ring (it was stolen) and pressured my wife to order a new one at the alleged value of the other ring. They claimed the "check was in the mail" and now that we decided to go somewhere else they are saying it still has to be approved. Even before the ring was lost the jeweler had messes it up repeatedly. Bad service, bad product. The other ladies were all nice and helpful, the manager though... shady. read more

I'm not one to get upset over compliments but the manner in which it was delivered was uncomfortable to both of us and had we not already been set on the ring we would have walked out without purchasing it. Zales company is not customer service company at all. I went into the store in Burleson, and purchased a ring. I swiped my card and entered my pin, and received approved status on THEIR machine. The Sales people then told me that the transaction did not go through on their end, and they needed to call corporate and then proceeded to ask me for my card again, and manually keyed in my number, and got a 2nd authorization from them. BOTH transactions posted on my bank account. I have spend 3 days of hours on the phone with a bunch of there is nothing I can do's. I was told that there would be a refund check processed and send out UPS NEXT DAY AIR, on last Friday. I called today to follow up, and they said check did not go out, and could not go out until tomorrow. When I asked why, I was only told that it couldn't happen, and no one else I could speak to. They needed more inside the company information to cut the check. I am beyond Frustrated. It's very sad that a Multi Million dollar company cannot or will not issue a 432.00 refund that was because of a glitch in their own company system, and lie to their customers on the phone and via email that they are sending out check. I have the email, and forwarded it to the person (supposedly a manager) where I was promised an overnight check sent out on Friday, and that they would follow up with tracking number. I tried calling later on in the Friday, and also emailed, and did the same today, and the person I worked with on Friday is avoiding my calls, and emails. VERY POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS. This will definitely be my LAST transaction with this poorly run Company, ZALES CORPORATION. When I spoke to a person at the store on the phone, or course she was sorry, but also said that she had told employees not to use the register that I was rung up on because of problems, but she was right there during the whole transaction. So, they knew there was a problem with the system, but instead of closing the register, they continued using it. Getting those sales is all they were worried about. read more
