I needed a couple of watch batteries replaced. Found Arlington Jewelry Exchange - very glad I did. Very personal and helpful service. I was able to also replace a very worn leather watch band, and in addition to replacing the battery in my other watch, he cleaned up the wrist band, fixed some bad links in the wrist band, replaced the crystal and it looks magnificent. Stopped in yesterday to see what I could get for some scrap gold and a couple of gold/gemstone rings. The guy there offered me $150. I thought I would rather keep than let go for so little. I went down the street to First Cash Pawn to see what they would be willing to offer and sold them the exact items for $500. That is a HUGE difference. I always heard pawn shops will try to take advantage of you, but I think I almost got taken advantage of by Arlington Jewelry Exchange. I'll never set foot in their outfit again. I had the pleasure of doing business with Jay and Stephen at Arlington Jewelry Exchange on Thursday, June 5. I give them a glowing recommendation. During my visit, I learned that Arlington Jewelry Exchange is both locally and family owned. I stumbled upon Arlington Jewelry Exchange after doing a Google search for local jewelry appraisers. I've never had a piece of jewelry appraised, and I had no idea what to expect. When I called to schedule an appointment, Jay was polite, courteous and professional. Then I ran late. When I called to explain, Jay said it was no problem for me to show up 30 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. And he didn't make me feel bad about my tardiness. The biggest treat was that Jay allowed me to observe the appraisal, and he went above and beyond by explaining to me all the things that he was looking at to determine value. He made a point to "tell me the story" of my ring. It was an incredibly personal experience that deepened my love for my ring and increased the confidence I felt about my purchase. Jay's attentiveness and obvious expertise made me feel special -- it was a wonderful experience. Additionally, Jay recommended two services be performed: a new rhodium plating and to have my ring sized down. Jay went out of his way to get those services done the same day. The price was reasonable. Jay really earned my trust for Arlington Jewelry Exchange. I will definitely purchase jewelry there. And I won't ever use another jeweler for repairs again. I can't write a glowing enough review of the Arlington Jewelry Exchange in Arlington. Ted and his entire family have been outstanding for every step of the process of getting ready for my wedding. To start Ted and his son Steven helped me decide on an engagement ring for my now wife. It was a simple design of white gold with a peaked arch, and a diamond that I was able to get a great deal on from the Exchange. After the proposal my fiance and I went back to get our wedding bands. This time I worked with Ted's son Daniel who designed a custom wedding band out of my grandfather's wedding band. They trimmed the sides, expanded the ring size, and had the diamonds removed out of it and finally had it hammered out for a dimpled finish. It is one of the best things I've ever gotten made for me. My wife's wedding band matches her white gold engagement ring with a similar dimpled pattern that is on my wedding band. Finally, I had 6 diamonds from my grandfather's wedding band that went out of style recently in men's rings so I worked with Daniel to create a mother of the groom and sister of the groom gift. Daniel designed a gorgeous cross to highlight one of the diamonds and studded earrings for each of them. It was beautiful, and made them both cry. I can't glow enough over what this family can do creativity wise, and I will never go to any other jewelry store moving forward. read more

They couldn't help me with a battery replacement in my fathers vintage seiko dive watch; the dead battery was in it too long and damaged the movement. I think they felt as bad about it as I did. Recently they helped modify my dad's ring to keep the original design and make it into something I could wear. I couldn't be happier. I went in to ask about selling some fine jewelry that I no longer need. It was literally the first place I'd visited and knew nothing about selling jewelry. I went in with no expectations...only questions. The girl working there was very rude and condescending to me. I got the feeling she was projecting experiences with previous customers onto me. I was never rude back. I simply answered her questions to which I got a huff, a laugh and an eye roll. Hmmmm...clearly I wasn't very knowledgeable but I didn't pretend to be. I wish she knew that her information didn't offend me...only the way in which she delivered it. It doesn't feel great when someone tells you your jewelry is worthless but it feels worse when they tell you that while laughing at you. (Side note: I needed a ring sized and another piece appraised. My Dad has been a customer here for years, so when I told him I was ready to propose he immediately suggested this shop to buy the ring. I met with Jordan thinking it was just an initial consultation; but he spent the next 2 hours showing me photos and designs, and getting a feeling of what features I wanted and liked. By the end of it, he had sketched out a fully custom ring design for me. Within a few weeks he had computer renderings ready for me to review. We spent the next month trading emails. Each time I would tell him what about the ring I liked and which parts I wanted to change, then he would send me back new renderings and notes that he thought I should consider. This went on for nearly 7 iterations before we finally had the perfect ring! By the end, the ring was exactly what I wanted with all the features I had on my list, and even a few I didn't know I wanted until Jordan suggested them. They were extremely helpful in customizing a ring for my fiancée. They helped at odd times, were very patient, and were Easily the best price and quality. I always felt comfortable talking with them and their experience proved to be high quality. I appreciated their honesty, quality, speed, and that they did basically everything in house. When it came time for my ring, I wanted titanium. It came in preset sizes. So, to make sure it was accurate for me they ordered a number of them because my finger size is in between two of the preset sizes. I had been looking for the perfect setting for 5 months in California, Florida, and Texas. From the first time I walked in to AJE, Daniel was extremely helpful and understanding of the exact ring I wanted. He was able to help me pick out the perfect ring and assured a safe transition of a personal center stone to be set on the ring. Awesome! I initially went into Arlington Jewelry Exchange to get the battery replaced on my watch. While I was waiting I began looking at the quality watches they had displayed and inquired about some customized options for a new watch. I cannot fully express with words just how professional, helpful, and extremely courteous Stephen was. He assured me that they would do their best to help me acquire the watch I wanted with all of the features that I had requested. I never had any idea this was possible because in the months leading up to this purchase I had never seen exactly what I wanted. I left my contact information and sure enough I received a call from Stephen that he would be able to get me the watch of my dreams. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. As a matter of fact he even had it brought in to show me before I determined exactly what I wanted. They customized everything, fitted the watch to my wrist size, gave me an appraisal, and worked with me on the price. While I was waiting for them to wrap up the transaction they even cleaned and worked on some of my other pieces of jewelry. The fact that this company is a local, family based business further bolstered my desire to purchase jewelry from them.
