First time ordering from them. The best I can say is the fries were ok. I ordered the chicken gyro salad, it came with two paper thin pieces of chicken, a few pieces of tomato and a bunch of iceberg lettuce. Chicken was dry as a bone and disgusting I was in the Army for 18 years, and can stomach just about anything - this crap almost made me barf. Also ordered a strawberry banana smoothie which tasted like it might have been made a day or three ago. Nasty! Wifey got a chicken gyro which was dry as a bone, a tiny drizzle of sauce and just didn't look right. Will never eat there again. I've eaten Greek food in 3 countries and all over the US - hands down the worst and top 5 worst meals ever, and that says a lot. read more

This is the worst hookah i have ever had, i have been to few hookahs in town, west port hookah, Hookah cafe and Sahara they were good except Zaman hookah, the service suck, they brought the hookah with old coals that burnt the top in less than 2 minutes and had no flavor, when i complained and asked to change the head they charged me extra, its like they dont care about pleasing the customer , they only care about getting the money out of you, the guy who makes the hookah knows nothing about hookahs because this is not the first time that it happened, its a waste of money to come to this place, i recommend Hookah cafe or Westport hookah the best. no hard feelings, but think about your customers then just taking their money read more

i have been coming to this place for many years and there is this one guy that works there that I cannot stand. He is so rude and tells me I'm not allowed to bring my water bottle. I have a health condition and need water and he's so inconsiderate. Doesnt let me drink water it's crazy. Probably because he wants me to buy a bottle from him. Also it's frustrating that he makes me pay a 7 bux fee when I don't smoke hookah. i have friends go with me that pay for their hookah that they smoke so why does he make me pay when I don't even smoke??? Weak sauce at best. I ordered the gyro salad and it was OK nothing to write home about. A small sad portion of salad maybe a handful and 2 pieces of gyro meat. The eggplant was fermenting, and tasted old. The same feeling you get when you taste guacamole made four days ago and the there is a little bit of gas to it? Yea not what I'm looking for. I have been to majority of all the hookah bars in the Kansas City area and none of them are as outstanding as this place. This place is clean, not to loud, average prices for hookahs, and has great friendly service. Unlike many of the hookah bars in the area, they ask to see ID for age, which is nice because then it is not full of underage people. My 2nd favorite thing about this place though would be the smoothies, they are so fresh and good! Their service is very reliable. They come and change your coals often, ask how you are doing, and recommend amazing flavors to try. Great place to hang out on a week night with friends or even to come study by oneself. Definitely going back! Expecially for their one year anniversary this coming Wednesday 6/25! read more

I was in town for the weekend, and as a hookah addict (not literally, but I do own 10 hookahs myself) I definitely wanted to see what Kansas City had to offer. I decided to check out Zaman on a Saturday, early before the night crowd arrived (and before heading off to see Arcade Fire at Starlight). Having been unimpressed with a hookah bar on 39th Street, I did not have high hopes for how Kansas City does hookah, but I was pleasantly surprised by Zaman. I ordered a strawberry/banana smoothie, and it was great. I chose to sit in a chair at a table, after first learning that I was also more than welcome to sit in a sofa. The seating was very comfortable, which is important when sitting back to relax with argila. The hookah was great, and most importantly, the coal service was outstanding. I cannot say what the atmosphere is like during the busy hours. But for a solo traveler in the early evening, everything about this place was great. read more

Great variety of comfy seating , and a very extensive menu with good prices. The atmosphere is a casual middle eastern themed lounge, not like a club like some. It's very relaxing. Their hookahs range from $12-15 for 3 people for the first bowl and $6 for refills. All the brands of shisha they sell/serve are top quality with a HUGE variety of flavors and their house mixes are delicious. Their hookahs also look to be well kept Egyptian brands and smoke great. They even allow you to bring your own hose or get an ice tip for a small upcharge. The coal service is fantastic and they're great about coming around to refresh them and give you your own tongs so you can rotate them yourself as well. The best part might be their food though. They make fresh fruit smoothies in house, and serve a variety of teas and coffees. Definitely try a pot of green tea with honey and grab some of the baklava! It's made by the middle eastern bakery in the same strip mall. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful with answering any questions we had about the shisha flavors. They also sell quite a few hookahs and hookah supplies/accessories for reasonable prices. Definitely a contender for best hookah lounge in KC! read more

This was my first time going here and I was actually shocked how much of a nice chill vibe type of place it was. The guys there were working at the time did a great job of coming around keeping the coals hot and changed out and also just stopping by to make sure we good or needed anything. I was really shocked never really knew about this hookah spot especially with it being so close to where I live. They have tables and couches and even nice little lounge spots for you to sit back and just chill and watch tv or simply relax! Will certainly come back it was worth my time and the prices were pretty ago also which is always a plus! read more

This place is GREAT! I'm from the Plaza/Westport/Midtown area where theres a hookah lounge on every corner. Some are good some not so much. This pretty much beats those. The decor and ambiance are spectacular! The hookah itself is nice. They use a nicer bowl than your standard Egyptian bowl. They also have a wide variety of brands flavors. Some old the best that you will find around here. I ordered the Fumari brand White Gummi Bear. I also had the Strawberry smoothie. It's very tasty and large. Theres currently only 5 other tables here at 5pm with one guy working and hes KILLING it! Great service. I definitely recommend this place I'd you're into hookah or interested in trying it. read more

They need to find a new host to replace the kid who acts like he's some kind of god. It's unprofessional to sass customers around and to take their orders after sitting down with them. He even told us not to order things on the menu unless we are professionals at smoking hookah??? Then when we picked something else twice, he said they were sold out. Zaman is one of my current fav hookah places in the area. The staff is very nice, and their hookah are of great quality. They do not use plastic pipes like some others in town. Over the past 2-3 months, I've been doing my own personal tour of KC Hookah Lounges. I've not been disappointed by any of them, but Zaman is quickly becoming my favorite At this point, I'm ranking Zaman #1, Hookah Cafe #2 and Sinbad's #3. I still have several to visit and will update my rankings accordingly. :) On my first visit, I was greeted promptly and seated at a table. I ordered cinnamon tea (DELICIOUS) and settled in with "Blue Mist." The coal service was great and I enjoyed this session. I subsequently visited 2 more times. Both visits were just as nice as the first, however on visit two, there was an issue with the tea - it just didn't taste as cinnamon-y as the tea from visit one. My server kept trying to make the adjustment, but the flavor never quite made it there. With regard to the tea service, it's served with a silver tea pot, spoon, sugar (honey upon request) and glasses. The tray that it's served on is a bit....... ugly. (LOL!) It's orange and one of those plastic trays you might find at any fast food court at the mall. (At Hookah Cafe, tea is served on a silver platter - very classy.) On this visit, I also had the pleasure of experiencing a fruit bowl (tangerine shisha served in a tangerine). It was SPLENDID! On one visit (#2 or #3), I ordered the Strawberry/Banana Smoothie and oh. my! It was DELISH. Lastly, both Zaman & Hookah Cafe offer punch cards - visit 6 times and your 7th hookah session is free! EXCELLENT! Take note Sinbad's! Without a doubt, I will return to Zaman Hookah Lounge and recommend it to my friends! read more

It really seems like the new fertile territory for business in Kansas City is hookah bars. While some will spring up and disappear after a couple of months or a year, some will leave a lasting impression. Zaman's is one of those. First and foremost, the menu is decent. The flavors are a stereotypical and nothing out of the ordinary. They do offer smoothies, coffees and other beverages. What makes an establishment have a lasting impact though is the atmosphere it creates and allows it's visitors to experience. The couches, chairs and furniture are all very comfortable. The man with charcoal is always coming around freshening up people's coals and gladly asking when you don't need it to be freshened up. The music isn't blaring, but just loud enough to enjoy as a bed for the chatter. With specials a couple of times a week and an attitude to serve, you'll definitely wanna come back to this place more than once. read more

I learned about this place from a friend, as of December 2013, I come here religiously to study ( I have a back-to-back exam schedule with tons of material to cover), surprisingly, this place helps me to study like no other place, the atmosphere is relaxing, the service is fast, courteous, and clean. Both owners of the place are very friendly and ready to answer all the questions, the menu have tons of tobacco flavors and drinks. The prices are very reasonable and the music is beautiful. Parking is not a problem at all. Although there is no alcohol in the place (duh!), there is a bar literally next door and customers are welcome to go and come back as they please, also, 100 feet from the lounge is a Middle Eastern food place called Hollyland. All in all the place is wonderful and has a very loyal customer base. I absolutely recommend to check it out. read more

Best hookahs in Kansas City, hands down. Never a disappointment! The atmosphere is amazing, doesn't ever feel like a club but still a place you would love to spend your evening. Great music and great snack and drink options. The Arabic tea with mint and smoothies are my personal favorite. The workers are nice and attentive and always make you feel welcome. The seating is inviting and very unique for a hookah lounge in Kansas City, more reminiscent of bigger city lounges like Chicago or Miami. Love the location because its perfect for an all around Middle eastern themed date or night out with Holy Land cafe for dinner, Pak Halal for some groceries, Nazareth sweets for some Arab style sweets and then finally relaxing to a nice hookah at Zaman!
