Something I've been really into lately is trying out different international coffee styles. This all started for me when I was introduced to Vietnamese coffee and after years of being a barista and knowing my way around an espresso machine and a more English/European way of viewing the drink, my mind was blown by how different cultures prepare such a classic drink. All of that being said, I'd never had Cuban coffee before so I was thrilled to have a chance to try it out here. I ordered a cafecito as I wanted something authentic and it was divine. The flavor was so good, and I loved how it was served in a little cup to savor and enjoy. The space overall is cozy and cute, but a bit confusing as you walk in and then need to find your way to the back. I will say the folks working are super nice, and I know I'll return someday to try more on their menu. TLDR: Super cute spot in KCK filled with delicious treats and coffee.

This super cute corner coffee shop in kck is authentic and very delicious! Popped in on a Saturday morning. All my senses were ignited- murals, music, coffee and cheery, helpful bilingual staff. Even though the menu is small it was difficult to make a decision about coffee and food. I ended up getting a cafe con leche - creamy and just the perfect amount of sweetness. It came out hot(temp) but not where it was scalding hot but just right. I had to force myself to savor it and drink it slow. Then I tried the plantains. Ooo so good. Crunchy and salty better than a potato chip. I got to try a sample of the guava cookies. Oh my. Another slam dunk. Everything was yummy. I even took home a jar of coffee. They offer milk alternatives. Some vegetarian options and gf options. They offer authentic Cuban sandwiches and pastries. The vibe was cool and inviting. I'll def be back to try more. So glad they're here offering the authentic tastes of Cuba!!

@cortadito_kc is a MUST!! Yes this is same sandwich, but you need to see all the angles because it SOOOOO DAMN GREAT. You need to get the chicken croquettes, it is pate in a cubano . Didn't know I needed it, but now every cubano sandwich is going to have to live up to this one. Also ask for a side of the chipotle sauce. It is just a little heat and smoke that adds to the fatty pork, ham, and cheese. Everything is great. Don't pass on the coffee or the flan. I honestly can report this is the best flan in KC. Visiting Cortadito is like dining in someone home. It is warm, welcoming and somewhere you want to return everyday!

I was so excited to try this Cuban restaurant in KCK. I saw it had 5 stars on Yelp and I LOVE a good Cuban sandwich. This one was EXCELLENT. It's huge so be ready! The restaurant is small but very clean and the staff was so friendly. Their plantain chips are homemade and they were thinner than some, I liked them a lot. . The sandwich bread was nice and crispy and the ham and pork and cheese was so tasty! .My only change for next time will be to ask for a little less mustard, but that's personal preference. If you like a Cuban; try it here!

Charming and cozy, this is an amazing addition to the neighborhood. Staff is incredibly friendly and greeted customers by name when they came through the door. My co-workers had raved about their sandwiches-'they were t wrong! The Cubano was perfect. Ham, pulled pork, pickles and Swiss on a baguette. So delicious. Can't wait to try the coffee and pasties.

Beautiful vibe. Friendly people. Delicious Cuban food. A much needed welcome to Wyandotte County and KCK, this newly opened Cuban cafe offers drinks, pastries and sandwiches that make you feel like you are on vacation in Cuba (or Miami). This family owned establishment has a vibrant vibe and is full of smiling faces both from the family and other employees working. Open Tuesday-Saturday, make sure you don't miss this addition to Kansas City's diverse dining culture.

This Cuban cafe is such a cool little gem. It's very unassuming from the outside, but once you step in you are transported. All the employees were so helpful and knowledgeable when we weren't sure what to order, and I took their suggestion in getting the Cafe Bonbon. So good, with just the right amount of sweetness from the condensed milk. We also ordered their Papas Rellenas, and holy crap, I could eat those all day! Plus the sauce is sweet and smoky, and good enough to just drink. Highly recommend!

Charming cafe with friendly staff. Husband had a wonderful conversation with the owner. We split a cubano sandwich - WOW! So delicious and plentiful - even after splitting we had some to take home! Will definitely be back next time we're in town!

As soon as I walked in i was greeted with a big hello from a young gent, asked if i'd been in before, directed to the back where the ordering takes places and asked how I was doing. That was the first minute and things only got better. I love when staff / ownership truly cares on serving all of their customers with respect and genuine friendliness. I ordered a Bon Bon Coffee and a traditional Cuban sandwich from an equally friendly lady behind the counter. My small, sweet and potent drink was table delivered quickly in the boisterous backroom while a nearly full house enjoyed the Saturday afternoon Chiefs game on the big screen. The TV was actually a bit of a distraction from the beautiful and vibrant wall murals located throughout space depicting Cuban culture. Following soon was my freshly grilled traditional Cuban sandwich with the obligatory mustard, pickles, Swiss cheese, ham and plenty of the best pulled pork ever. Seasoned and slow roasted in-house, this pork could hold up against any pork dish in town. It was served with a side of plantain chips. I grabbed a guava / cheese and a coconut pastry to go and enjoyed them later. Nothing not to love about this charming little cafe!

Wow! What a 10/10 experience. I had a short break from professional development and wanted to have a coffee and sandwich. The Cuban coffee shop around the corner provided the perfect sanctuary for just that. The shop played peaceful Cuban music, was clean and had several cute little tables strategically placed around the room. I particularly liked the free Cuba mural. While there, I ordered a Cafe con leche (coffee with milk) and a pain con bistec (steak sandwich). Both were fantastic! The coffee came in a cute mug and made you feel like you could just walk out the door into Cuba. Also, the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Will definitely be back!

LOVE having a new coffee shop that is incredibly close to work! This shop had been on my radar, but it wasn't until a coworker mentioned it opening that I realized it was both open and close to work! The staff working were so kind and friendly. The gal working walked me through the menu of food and pastries as well as coffee offerings. This was helpful in making a choice about what to order. Ultimately I ended up with a cafe con leche - a sweetened latte-type drink (but not overly sweet) and an order of the cubana tostada. This was a toasted cuban bread with a little butter and salt. Paired well with a sweeter coffee drink! The space was great! lots of colorful and fun murals, and some tables spread throughout. It would be a good spot to meet a friend or to get a little bit of work done!

I am so excited that they are open!! I walked over this morning for a to-go order and the service was excellent. I got a cafecito, guava cheese pastries and pan con lechon to go. It was ready fast and the cafecito came in the cutest little to go cup. If you've never had Cuban pastries, get ready to have your life changed. The guava cheese pastries are some of my favorites but I'll be back to try their other baked goods. The food was really good, can't wait to try their Cuban sandwich and KC style lechon sandwich

Great coffee and fresh Cuban bakeries. Customer service was top tier and their garage area is absolutely beautiful. I wanted to try all the different coffee shops, but this one has overtaken that decision. Will be returning!

Who knew yummy Cuban food could be found in Olathe! This spot was recommended by another Yelper…read more The interior is big but inviting. Nice comfy booths. Saw lots of couples - maybe this a the local date night spot?? Popped in on a Saturday evening. No reservation needed. Started with the garlic bread and chicken samosas. Both were delish. The samosas were stuffed full of chicken. The green sauce was tasty too. Lots of seafood, chicken, beef and pork entrees. I was not familiar with some of the fish entrees. It's a big menu and almost all of it is in Spanish. So I went with what Genevieve our server recommended. The chicken breast with onions and peppers. It's sounds plain but it was full of flavor and served with black beans and rice. I substituted plantains for tostones. The tostones were meh. My dinner companion ordered the chimichurri steak. It also came with black beans, white rice and plantains. She said it was delicious. They also serve paella - which I really wanted to try but they entree is for 2 or more. Some of the fish items are kinda spendy. But the other meat items are in the $20 or less range. In addition to soda and lemonade, they serve margaritas and beer. I ordered a skinny margarita and it tasted watered down. So next time I'll ask for no ice. For dessert we tried the churros. Not bad. The service was great. I'll definitely come back to try some of the seafood entrees.
