Wow! Where to start. I want to say I've suffered from some form of hair loss from my late 20s. It was fairly manageable until my 30s but I knew it was time for a change once I got to my early 40s. I've always been skeptical of any type of procedure like this and even though I did my research into hair transplants and SMP, I was still a bit reluctant. Enter Zang SMP. I got in touch with them late last year and they guided me through the entire process. Hairline: I was a bit worried about how much work/how drastic I wanted my hairline to change. My first session was very conservative and gradually I got to where I am now after session 3. Unless you're 100% sure of the hairline you want, I'd say start off conservatively first and move forward as you feel comfortable. The technicians are very knowledgeable and won't let you leave with a hairline that doesn't suit your scalp. Blending: I was worried that folks would immediately know I had SMP done. I can say with all honesty that no one's ever asked. I do get a few curious looks from folks whom I've n known for a long time but for others, it's completely unnoticed. My partner did his head tattoo here for his bald spots and I had to write a review on his behalf because we are happy with their work and I went with him. Finding the location was a little confusing at first. They were super thorough and answered all questions we had. Their so popular that there was a waiting list for over a month but man was it worth the wait. You need to place a down payment to set your date. It looks SO natural! No one has said anything or noticed and it's been a month. But you definitely need to keep shaving your head often for it to blend properly depending on how fast your hair grows. They draw the line for you and even give you an image of you edited of what their work would potentially look like. You know what you're getting yourself into. It's honestly so natural, it's totally fine to bring your hair line lower. My partner was nervous about it being too low but it looked amazing and he loves it. It is a tattoo so it's going to hurt a bit, in some spots more than others. It also can take a few hours each time. It's typical tattoo aftercare and will itch a bit during healing but overall the whole process is tolerable and the guys are really experienced. It's lucky if you live close enough to drive (like me) as there are plenty of clients who fly from afar to get treated here. The reason for the many many positive larger-than-life-sounding reviews for Zang SMP is simply that they are top notch all the way around. These guys are master artists and master comminicators. Much of my perfect experience here is due to Ridwan, the long time front office professional. He will take care of you like you matter, because you do. I work in a hospital and know how complex it can be to balance good customer service with also making sure patients are on the same page for goals and expectations... Ridwan did my original consult about 4 years ago to help me find out if SMP was the right fit for me. At that time I was determined to only get ink on the thinning spot on my crown and nowhere else on my head. It was clear that I was dealing with ethical professionals when he respectfully explained the likeliest trajectory of my hairloss over the next few years (he was right) and why they recommended against spot filling like that. He even had to carefully tell me they weren't a good fit for me at that time because they couldn't guarantee my satisfaction with the type of work I was insisting on. Yesterday was 2 weeks since my second session with Zang. The best way to convey how happy I am with the results is that I haven't worn a hat since 2 days after the treatment, when the redness subsided. This is a review for Zang's SMP training program. It wouldn't take long for anyone researching SMP to figure out that Zang is a master practitioner and a one of the pioneers that introduced SMP from the UK. I wanted to learn from the best so I signed up to learn from Zang. I felt incredibly lucky to have Zang right here in LA when I would have traveled to anywhere in the states to get to him! In addition to the obvious theory and practice you expect from an in-person training, it was so cool to witness lives being changed every day, four times a day, while I was in training. (Usually Zang and Walter, another practitioner, have 2 appointments a day and you get to shadow them.) Zang has clients coming in from all over the world with all kinds of conditions and being able to see a variety of cases and situations was critical to learning about and understanding SMP. His team is amazing as well. Ridwan, the office manager is the "handler" of all things at Zang SMP. He is the nicest person, always so positive, and helpful for everyone.
