Absolutely totally outrageous pricing. The first man, Tim, who came out did a wonderful job at a reasonable price. he was supposed to do a second job and that was included in the estimate, but I did not have time to do it that day. I got a reminder from Zara electric that I had a $100 credit. I needed a socket changed out in a light fixture in the bathroom and decided, with $100 credit, I would let Zara electric do it rather than doing it myself. I told them the socket was loose and they sent a man out. He told me there was a diagnostic charge. I told him that I already knew what was wrong and I just needed him to please fix it. My mistake... I assumed since I had a $100 credit that I'd probably be charged an additional $75 or so to fix the socket. He charged me over $400 and said that was taking the hundred dollars off. In other words, a couple hundred for a diagnostic fee and a couple hundred to fix the problem. Before he fixed it, he said I just to sign some papers to give authorization to fix it and I stupidly did not read the papers. I paid them and I will never use them again nor will I recommend them to anybody. The pricing is totally out of this world and if you use them, make sure you check to see what their diagnostic fee is and make sure that they don't charge you that fee in addition to a high repair fee which is what happened to me. Had a whole house surge protector and GFI outlet replaced. DJ was the tech. He explained everything, was on time and courteous. Cleaned up the place and relabeled the breaker box. From the office to the tech work, everything was fast and efficient. They take pride in their work. I'll use them again. read more

Too expensive. Will only give quote after you sign form for home electrical inspection. Then give quote $552 to just move a plug from one garage wall to another, which of course is outrageous, so we said 'no way'. And they had the nerve to charge $69 fee for a quote (over the phone I was told that fee would be waived), but when I called them on it, they said the quote is only waived if they get hired for the service. Good easy way to make money on quotes, by over estimate simple jobs. read more

I am a first time home buyer and the house I purchased was a 1938 small farmhouse. Needless to say the electrical needed to be updated. ZarElectric was recommended to me by a friend and like most people I trusted in my friends recommendation....best decision ever! Sean came over to my new home and spent about 2 hours with me going over the updates that needed to be made, reviewing my budget, setting a timeline, etc. When he left after that initial visit not only did I feel informed about my own home and the repairs that needed to be made, I also felt extremely confident that I had hired someone who truly valued his customers and wasnt simply looking at me like a paycheck. There were 3 ZarElectric employees that worked on my home Sean, Zack and Craig. Zack and Craig were the primary 2 who work on the project of my home and honestly you couldnt ask for 2 better guys. They showed up on time if not a little early, worked at a consistent pace throughtout the day and informed me of updates to their work progress or of anything out of the ordinary that would need to be fixed before they would want to go further. Example: a few beams that had termite damage that they thought i might want to repair before they progressed further. The most 3 most important aspects of any job are 1) Quality of work 2) Timeliness and 3) Coming in on budget. ZarElectric met and surpassed ALL of my expectations. Really great service! Zar Electric wired 4 or so rooms in our house for Cat5 connectivity that were previously not wired for it. The service was top notch. They only ran into one decent sized snag in the crawlspace with wiring. But they got it figured out in minutes. I could tell the guys were really experienced while they worked through any planning or obstacles. We would use Zar Electric again in this house or if we move. We have recommended them to others in our neighborhood or surrounding Raleigh and Wake Forest areas. read more

ZAR ELECTRIC is great. We had a light fixture that exploded and burned our ceiling and the circuit breaker didn't go off! We were afraid of an electrical fire. I called around to a few other electrical companies who couldn't schedule us any sooner than December! ZAR was very reassuring, told us what to do to make us safe and sent Craig out to investigate our problem. Craig called before he came, was prompt, cleaned up after the installation of our new light and checked out everything. They are a caring organization that have great customer service. We both wanted to express our sincere appreciation for work done on our property to provide the 208 volts to our out building. The staff and support back of ZAR were very concerned at doing the best job that they could, and this we appreciated. The promptness and workmanship were a hallmark of professional service.
