Do I thought now was the right time to get a generator! I bought a Generac generator from Costco, via Generator SuperCenter, and they performed the installation. The workmanship was fantastic, and my consultant , Nick, was super helpful. He basically held my hand through the whole process, and managed the timeline. They handled the permitting, and the approval with my HOA, the gas technicians, installing the gas pressure sensors and new gas lines, as well as the after inspection with the City. The city inspectors only had minor comments/concerns, which the team at Generator SuperCenter took care of quickly. Once complete, Nick came out and showed me how to operate and set up the weekly service and maintenance tests. If I had any issues, I could contact the service team through the app and schedule any service requests! The Generac mobile app is also helpful to see the status and history of my generator, and super helpful -- especially if you're away! Value wise, I thought the price was very reasonable. The price was all inclusive and I just paid the initial down payment and then the balance the day the workmen came. I bought through Costco, so at the end I got $1600 gift card to spend at Costco. If I had to do it again, I'd do it in the spring or fall, as they had to shut off my electricity for 5-6 hours. One last tip, make sure you keep records of all paperwork and payments, as this is also proof for improvements made to your home. Also was told he would come between 9-12 and he came at 4:30 pm . Mr. Electric is too expensive.
