I was content with my purchases during Boxing Day that was more weeks. Strawberry Shortcake t-shirt? Yes. Minnesota Vikings t-shirt? Yep. My first pair of cargo pants from this brand? So comfy. I looked at my inbox. I got suggestions from Torrid. One of them was a Grogu sweater that was heavily reduced in price. OMG! It was awesome and so me. I had to get it. I did something a bit different. As much as I love my go-to Torrid store at Vaughan Mills, I felt the need to expand my shopping horizons. I did a search and found this Torrid store at Square One. I go to Square One at least once a year. Why not drop by to check out this store and the mall? I visited this store last Saturday. It was in the late afternoon. The parking lot in front of Walmart and mall entrance 9 was packed. I managed to find a parking spot by the traffic lights and walked over. Torrid wasn't difficult to find. I walked through entrance 9, took a left, and it was on my left. I like Torrid. Everything I have purchased fits nicely on me. The fabric is soft and comfortable. I also like that sizes range between 10 and 30. It is a size-inclusive store. It's kind of like shopping at GAP. If you know what size you are at the store, chances are that everything in that size will fit you nicely. At Torrid, I choose to be a size 1. I could go down a size, but I like a more comfortable, relaxed fit. Staff here were friendly. One of them was exceptionally cheerful when she greeted me. The plain t-shirts were so soft to the touch. Frankly, everything that I touched felt nice. I was petting the cardigans. I was hugging a lightweight blazer. I was admiring how smooth the leggings were. I like the shoe selection here. It has shoes up to a women's size 13. I'm happy with a pair of sneakers that I bought from this store. They fit perfectly without breaking the bank. There is a clearance section in the back left of the store. I saw some cute items, but there wasn't anything that I had to have. Grogu was my must-get item. I headed to the counter and spoke to another female staffer. With orders that you do online and come pick up at the store, you're supposed to show your order number and present ID. I have never had to do the latter. At this store, the woman wanted my e-mail address and my phone number. Cool! She let me know that she'd fetch my item in the back. It took what felt like an eternity for her to find it. I stood there for at least five minutes. It allowed me to browse the accessories and more. I was happy when she returned with my order. She asked me if I wanted a bag. I declined, as my items were already in a bag. I thanked her for find my order and happily left the store. I love my Grogu sweater. It is lightweight and roomy. I can push the sleeves up without stretching the sweater arms. Grogu is also awesome on it. I also got two sets of rock star earrings. One is for my best friend. The other is for me. You get six pairs of earrings. I like the microphones, guitars, and zipper pull earrings. They are a throwback to getting my ears pierced and getting a bunch of cute earrings to wear. They are comfortable and cool, and are of good quality. I enjoyed my visit here. I'd return again when I do another pickup order down the road. I struggle to find jeans that fit.... But their jeggings are fabulous! I love the website too. Many items that aren't available in-store. Especially the licensed clothing. They have it ALL! Disney, Marvel, musicians/band, cartoons like Garfield, etc etc. Prices are in US dollars, and it's shipped from the USA, so shipping certainly isn't cheap. On the other hand, they don't charge tax of any kind for online orders to Canada, so you save 13%. Plus they often have great sales at the online store! My 2 complaints are: 1. We need all the licensed clothing, like in the US stores. And 2. They only sell wide width sized shoes and boots. Which makes ZERO sense. The store hasn't changed much over the year and neither have the style. It's mostly office casual with the occasional piece that says 'suitable for a lunch date'. Most days the store is clean with all pieces nicely displayed. There's no confusion on what you're looking at unless you're looking at the clearance section. That rack is usually a mess and a half with random sizing every where. That being said, you can easily find some good finds with items being at least 50% off. As for the quality, I would say it's decent... you wont find luxury materials or really nice tailoring. It has a super reasonable price point (sweaters start from $40 and can hit upwards to $55) and I wouldn't expect merino wool. Things do fit a little generously. I think most pieces benefit from layering. A tank here, a cardigan here, a belt, and a cute longer skirt to match. And there you have your basic office attire. As for service, I've found this more miss than hit... no rudeness but apathy may best describe most of the staff. They do acknowledge you as you walk in. For those people who are looking good basics, I feel RW&Co is a decent spot to establish your closets without burning through your first pay cheque. Especially if you're shopping during the sale time frame. Best to check at the end of the seasons and you may score some really good deals.

They also do a 25% off on your birthday offer so be sure to sign up before your bday! In August/September they also do a deal for teachers purchasing clothes. Again it's somewhere in the 20-25% off range. They've started selling silver brand jeans and Kenneth Cole items in the store, so it may be the start of including more name brand pieces in their collections. While outlet stores generally fail to live up to their hype, this Cole Haan location is a stud! The problem I usually have with outlet/factory stores is the fact their merchandise is made specifically for this purpose - which translates into huge sacrifices in quality and design, for comparatively little in savings. You will seldom, if ever, find Banana Republic, J. Crew, or Coach's "regular" merchandise at their outlets. Nearly all of what's at their outlet, was made for their outlet. While I cannot claim with certainty that Cole Haan does not engage in this practice, I find my purchases from this outlet store to be great quality for the price. They have, thus far (fingers crossed...), stood the test of time. The fact that styles in this store can actually be found on Cole Haan's official website, eases my nerves just a little more... but, I digress. Customer service at this location can range from absolutely fantastic, to just average. I was served by a very enthusiastic sales representative on my first visit, who made sure everything went right. And it was a busy day too, so kudos to him. His name eludes me at this point, which is unfortunate. But he left a little post-it note on my shoe box that said "Xenos --- Cool Guy", and I love associates who show a personal touch. I swear my bias doesn't originate from being complimented... I now buy the vast majority of my shoes from this Cole Haan outlet, simply because it offers the most bang for my buck. Cole Haan is a huge step up from most mass-market shoe stores - both design and quality wise. Sure you're not getting Alden or Allen Edmonds quality, but that's to be expected. As a university student on a budget, this is a fantastic compromise. Their leathers are nice, and the welts surely aren't coming apart after just two seasons. Perhaps most importantly, Cole Haans are comfy to my feet! Many of the shoes at this location can be had for between $80 and $150, and are well worth the investment!
