Salon is under new ownership. I went yesterday for the first time. New eyebrow girl is just average, just asked for a cleanup but now one of my eyebrows looks done and one doesn't. Also got a root touch-up by the new owner who said the 10-min dye is also ammonia-free, so I went for that option. The way my scalp is feeling today, I am pretty sure it is not ammonia-free. The worst part was after washing my hair out, the new owner used a dirty brush on my hair. She had just used it on another customer next to me and didn't clean it out before using on me, I could see there were still hairs in there and nothing was disinfected. I am new to the area and this place was recommended to me for eyebrow threading. I have thick eyebrows that just needed some clean up. I'm not sure who did the threading but they took off a huge chunk of the tail of my right eyebrow - I didn't complain or say anything when she held up the mirror but was instantly choking back tears. The mismatch between my brows was so obvious. There is no way the person doing the threading didn't realize this major mishap, but nothing was said. This visit was in mid-October and my eyebrows are just now growing back in to be reshaped. read more

I called before I went to the salon since it was close to closing. I spoke to the owner, Sareen and she said she could squeeze me in. I went for a Brazilian wax. She used a chocolate wax which seemed less painful than other waxes I've experienced. The owner was friendly and personable. Got threading and waxing done here a few days before my wedding. Waxing was fine; they do double dip so keep that in mind. Eyebrow threading was also good. The only thing that went wrong was during the upper lip threading. I asked for threading but she suggested waxing, maybe because it was faster? This was my first time getting waxed and I didn't know anything about it so I said yes. Big mistake. I had a lot of breakouts in that area after waxing, which never happens after threading. The lady working with me knew I was about to get married so I kind of wish that she had gone ahead with threading instead of waxing since it is less likely to cause breakouts. read more

Went to get my first keratin treatment (magic sleek). Priti was the one who did my hair. She did an AMAZING JOB. my hair is very sleek, soft, and not frizzy,. Mind you, my natural hair is VERY frizzy and curly, so the fact that she was about to make my hair look pin straight it's amazing. This procedure does take time, as they want to make sure each step is done correctly so you get the best results, but it's 100% worth it. I also liked the service everyone was nice and personable. My experience with this salon was a disaster, I went there for multiple services, in waxing, Left arm back side full hand hair left, Brazilian waxing lot of hair left. Hair color stain on my face still on my face, when I came home I wash my face and found lot of color left in my both ears. Hair color and highlight also not done well, my friends, husband everyone said hair color and highlight not even worth of 100 $ And sarin the salon owner is have charged me lot of money. This time I m very disappointed with services. Will never go back. While doing my facial she was yelling at her staff over my head, highly unprofessional behavior. I came to Zara Salon and Spa for a Brazilian and underarm wax. Sareen is a wonderful esthetician and I'm so surprised at how great this service was. She uses a soft chocolate wax that's way more gentle than other waxes I've had. She was careful but still quick, and the pain was minimal. Her services were far superior to the $50 Brazilians I've paid for, but she only charges about $25 for a full Brazilian and $10 for an underarm wax! Okay first and foremost i never write reviews but I've been wanting to go blonde for a while but have been super hesitant because everytime I tried going blonde, I came out with that reddish brownish color which is okay but in my opinion it just rlly washes out my skin color. But recently I found zara salon and spa and LOVED IT. My natural hair color is black but ive been box dying my hair for idk how long, so Zara recommended me to get highlights instead of going full out blonde for the sake of my hair and the maintenance of it won't be as much as going fully blonde. Not only are they well educated with stubborn asian hair but their prices cannot compare to other salons. Everytime I paid 200+ for something I wasn't even that happy with but with Zara I came out paying less & satisfied. It's very obvious she cares about her customers and their needs and would do her best to achieve your expectations! They also have waxing with great prices as well. I had a terrible experience here. Got a wax done by "Paula" and I felt like it was her first time doing a Brazilian. Wax was way too hot and getting stuck everywhere - she had to use scissors and CUT WAX OUT. I had scabs all over my "area" for the next week because she burned me so bad. This is a pending review from my end as this place is amazing and I have to share my awesome experience at this place after an awful experience at a shady salon for mehendi in Edison. Sareen, the owner of this salon is a rockstar and I believe because of her the staff is so attentive and looks after the client's needs. I found this place on web as I needed a quick hair wash and blow dry and my oh my to my surprise what awesome treatment I got even though I had a walk in appointment at 7:30 pm - YES that late! They were so cheerful and welcoming at that hour as well which meant a lot to me. It was such an awesome experience that I booked an appointment for magic sleek as I needed hair straightening though I was sceptical about that treatment as I never had that one specifically before. They took their time to explain and did a great job. Really a classy place and I am very glad to find this place as I don't have to look out for another salon.
