I thought it was good price. Haircut was decent but I said I wanted to keep my length. They acknowledged that I wanted to keep my length and then proceed to cut my length. It was disappointing when I let them know what I wanted and few seconds later proceed to ignore it lol. They charge you additional to wash hair which was unusual for me. I needed a trim ASAP and called one day to see if they could fit me in. I spoke with Allison and was able to go in later that afternoon. Allison was very nice, she greeted me right away and we chit-chatted about everything--which was great. She did a good job in trimming my ends to the specs I requested and gave me some awesome samples. Oh, and the trim was only $25! Yeah, can't beat it. We arrived the next morning and met the owner of the salon (could kick myself for not getting her name) and our appointments went great! She was quick but effective, conscious of our timeline of the day, but never rushed. We were the only three in the salon at the time and had great conversations during our styles. I accidentally stumbled upon this great hair salon: Salon 107. To my surprise, there was plenty of parking and this place was conveniently located and visible. As a first time customer, Alison greeted me and the people there were very friendly and amicable. Alison went above and beyond by asking what kind of haircut I wanted and understanding how I style my hair and how frequently I get my hair cut. Alison took all these inputs into consideration and delivered an amazing haircut that left me speechless. It was a great cut and very well done. I had a lot of haircuts at various different barbershops and salons, however, none of them come as close to perfection as Salon 107. She was very friendly and did a great job and I felt good knowing a portion of my haircut was going to help this little boy's family. There were raffle prizes and face painting for the kids too. Stay away from Salon 107 on Main Street in Sayreville. I messaged the owner about what happened to my hair so she could address it with her staff. If she had just stuck with her first response you wouldn't be reading this. She has a lot to learn about being a business owner. Conversation started today Allison, I have been to your salon several times in the past and have been satisfied with my cuts and color. However, this past week while you were on vacation, I had the worst experience ever at a salon. You have always greeted me very professionally. I had an appointment at 11:00 for Alyssa to do highlights and Samantha to do a cut. When I got to the front of the salon, both were outside the door smoking (big turn off). They said hi and I walked in and sat down in the waiting area. They waited a few minutes until they finished smoking and then came in and said to go sit down in the back that it was probably cooler there. Not the greeting I expected. Alyssa pulled up my info from the last time she did my hair. I told her I didn't want the same toner as the last time because it made my hair grayish/purple for two weeks but after it washed out my hair looked great. While doing my hair she made very unprofessional comments about how she wants to quit smoking but can't. She said quitting heroin was easier than smoking so maybe she will start doing heroin. Really? I was appalled but didn't say anything because I didn't want her to screw up my hair. The phones were very busy that day and they were complaining and saying they should just take them off the hook. They also said they should just close the shop and go to the beach for the day and maybe Jose would join them. After Alyssa washed the color out of my hair she put a toner in. Samantha then started to cut my hair. I told her my hair looked very gray and orange and I didn't like it. She went outside to get Alyssa who was again smoking in front of the store. They had me go in the back and they mixed up something to take the gray out. Both were vigorously scrubbing my hair at the same time. After that they put another chemical on to take the orange out of my hair. I asked if this was going to dry out my hair with all the chemicals. Samantha said no. I went back to Samantha's chair and she started to dry my hair. The color was so uneven still and my hair was like straw. Alyssa annoyingly said she could fix a piece. I told her just a piece? It's my whole head. Samantha said she could do a deep conditioning. At that point I was so aggravated by the way Alyssa was handling things I told them this was ridiculous and walked out with a wet head. My haircut wasn't finished and my hair is so damaged. I went home and put coconut oil in it for 16 hours. I am going to another salon tomorrow to have everything fixed. I just wanted to make you aware of the negative experience I had while you were away. I really think the unprofessionalism of your employees is what is hurting your business. Right off the bat no one wants to walk into a beauty solon through a cloud of smoke from the employees. Do it in the back. The quality of service I received was unacceptable. I tell you all of this because as an owner you need to know what the perception of your salon is. Only you can make changes to improve your salon.
