I haven't used the swimming pool and don't really plan on it, haha, but it also looks really nice. This place is well-maintained!

I liked that they had Kona on draft, I could get two beers here for the price of one at a MLB stadium. The bar on the 3rd base side weirdly didn't have any draft beer. Each section on has about 8-10 rows in, so no bad seats really. We came the second day of the season and was surprised that the restrooms weren't very clean, all the sanitation bins were full - which didn't make sense. The stadium also had a fishy smell to it which I didn't notice to begin with but about half way through I couldn't not smell it! Most fridays if not all are fireworks and they let you sit on the grass - nice little display with a good view. Would come back again, hopefully they sort the smell and cleanliness issues out. Got a first time certificate but they don't have any stickers or buttons - they did have some in the store but wanted $5 for a small button! Game times tend to run longer than MLB, it was about a 3hr game.

The only issue I take with this park is how some people abuse the park and think it's ok to leave trash behind and throw their filth on the ground or to leave food all over where flies get to celebrate on it. The city too isn't taking great care of the park and they would actually get a 1 star for a failure to maintain this facility in the condition it should be. Great place for softball, soccer, basketball and there are lots of picnic tables and BBQ grills. I really wish the city would up their keep. There's lots of parking but some people think it's ok to park on the grass. Overall it's a great park that needs a bit more or should I say better attention from the city. I volunteer after work when I can and bring a shelter dog here for a walk. Even when it's hot outside, the trails have lots of shade from the tall trees, so it's much cooler than most parks. There's also a creek where the dogs love to cool off and a splash pad for kids to enjoy. This has become my favorite park to bring the shelter dogs because they get to stretch their legs, sniff around, splash in the creek, and just enjoy being outside for a while. If you live nearby and have a little free time, I definitely recommend checking out the shelter's Doggy Day Out program. Taking a dog out for a walk or an adventure for a few hours can really brighten their day, and it's a rewarding experience for you too.

It's new-ish and fun enough for a neighborhood park, but with many outstanding parks in bordering cities, this play structure (and frankly, all the Bedford playgrounds) fails to stand out. Because they've been so spoiled by other parks, my kids claim this one is boring. Objectively speaking, I think it's a fine park for a neighborhood. It's certainly better than Carousel Park down the road! We like the open space and mature trees surrounding the playground. Harris Ryal's proximity to the Bedford Linear Trail is also convenient. We like to take the kids bike riding along the paved trail and this park is a nice little stop along the way. Unfortunately there are some pretty big drawbacks that keep us from visiting Harris Ryals as often as we might otherwise: 1. No bathrooms - with 5 kids that may have to pee or poop at anytime, there's a limit to the amount of time we can spend somewhere with no bathroom. 2. No parking lot - you can park along the street on Cummings, but my kids exit the car from the left side and this dumps them right onto a busy street. Not ideal. 3. No shade over play structure, and no shade over most of the seating areas. 4. Bizarrely low bench seating. They know it's the parents who sit there, right? They were installed at the correct level for a 2 year old. 5. Bark flooring Today (a November Monday around 4pm) there were lots of kids there playing, but every other time I've been, we are the only ones there. Maybe that was just because of COVID. Or maybe most people, like us, just drive to a better park.

*Trail Review* There are quite a few MTB trails, for being…read morelocated in the middle of a town. They are mostly "natural" trails, with a few man made features scattered throughout. There are several marked trails spanning many miles. I take my 7yo and their bmx bike, on the most basic trails. I would say the most difficult trails and features would challenge an intermediate rider. The trails are pretty clean. If I had to provide 1 critique, I would recommend better trail marking. I can't tell you how many times I've been scolded by some dentist on a $10,000 MTB, for inadvertently riding the wrong way on their trail. But due to the trails constantly growing and changing, it's bound to happen. GREAT TRAILS, GIVE THEM A TRY.
