I went here for lunch with a good friend to celebrate her birthday. I've lived in Hamilton for years and this was the first time I've been to Zealong. Now, I just sit here thinking, why did I wait so long?! Oh yes, I don't really like tea. I know, pretty weird.
We parked the car at the base of a small incline that leads up to the restaurant. We enjoyed looking at some of the statues and art along the way. The restaurant itself is just so cool. Mainly black and white decor, up-scale but still comfortable and a relaxed atmosphere. We decided to sit outside as we had a gorgeous, sunny day to enjoy. The outside is nicely laid out with lots of greenery and views onto the estate. We had a little wander around while we were waiting for our food.
So, this non-tea-drinker actually found a tea that I like! It's called Fire & Ice (herbal) and I highly recommend it. What is also pretty cool is that they have gas burners at each table, so that your tea kettle and water stay hot.
We ordered the high tea because, well, we were at a tea estate. It was pretty fantastic (if a bit pricey). Three tiers of absolutely, fantastic, super-delicious bites. I would definitely go back again (for tea, for high tea, or for a chance to order off the menu). read more
