Was suggested I get a procedure, was told it was covered and then received a bill for $400. Terrible business

My wife and I researched options and ultimately decided to drive from VA to meet with Dr. Adamo…read more That drive was the right decision. What impressed me most was how much effort Dr. Adamo put into my wife's case. After our first consultation, Dr. Adamo spent significant effort discussing her case with his peers and researching her conditions and medications before proposing a course of treatment. The amount of effort he put into her case exceeded my highest expectations. Then he underscored his patient-first focus by saying, "You know, I appreciate the effort you put into coming to see me, but the doctor I would have work on me is much closer to your home. How about you make an appointment with him, and I'll call him and explain everything I've figured out so far." Throughout our interactions, Dr. Adamo demonstrated his professional expertise and focus on achieving the best possible outcome for his patients. Just... Just Wow.

The dental assistant met me in the parking lot and asked me questions like have I been exposed to CoVID then she took my temperature which was normal. She's awesome!! Highly recommend!!

Maureen gave me the best exam I have ever had at a dentist. She took all the measurements of my mouth, including all the X-rays, and then used this new technology to capture images of my entire mouth. I could then view them on the screen. And gave me an excellent cleaning. Gentle with no pain. Additionally, Dr. Glackin was amazing. He is smart, funny, and gives it to you stright, but does not make you feel bad about anything. When he came in and looked, he went over all of Maureen's work and then checked each of my teeth. I have to go back for some more work, but I will not even give it a thought because they all made me feel so comfortable. He is smart, funny, and gives it to you stright, but does not make you feel bad about anything. If you need a Dentist, this is the team you should go to.

I later spoke with Joann who was also extremely nice and went the extra mile to work with me. After I arrived I was brought in by Dr. Marcus's assistant Arianna. She was very pleasant and kind, and made me feel very comfortable. After meeting Dr. Marcus I knew that I was in the right place with the right people. He was very professional, kind and considerate. His main concern was that I would not be in pain and he would be able to do the root canal. He continually checked to make sure I was not in any pain, and did a great job. I cannot say enough wonderful comments about Dr. Marcus and his amazing staff. I would never go anywhere else for this kind of procedure. The office was immaculate and comfortable. I have to return next week for this to be completed and to have another procedure done with Dr, Kapoor. Needless to say I am not apprehensive at all. This is certainly a great place! I'm so thankful to everyone there!

If you are paranoid of your teeth being poked at and drilled into this dentist is absolutely for you, he's very compassionate and takes great care to explain in detail everything that he's doing and what is going on. Dr. Maslow, always take the time if you are having a mini panic attack and really seems to care for his patients. I've been to several dentist's now and never anyone as polite, painless, light handed and easy going as him. Excellent care provided, absolutely my first choice for a dentist. If you have had problems in the past with another dentist and don't know where to go, this is the place.

I had a few cavities, got them checked out with him - got the X-rays, impressions, etc. Now.... Dr. Maslow is very rough around the edges - again, that never deters me - sometimes those horrible bedside manner types are actually great at what they do. He took my insurance, and we scheduled multiple appointments because I had several cavities (I went a while without dental insurance). While I was in the seat, he started complaining to me that my insurance has not paid for our last visit yet. OK - not exactly in my control, but I told him I would follow up because they sent me an explanation of benefits breakdown. Not a conversation I needed to have while he was about to drill, but again - not everyone has social skills. He gave me my shot of novocaine, I was ready to get this fixed.... and he started drilling - and then I felt the drill!!!! I jumped and yelped in pain. This NEVER happened to me. It was so unexpected - and PAINFUL!!! He got mad at me, acted very put out - sighing, rolling his eyes, slamming things around - as if I inconvenienced HIM for not being numb and feeling the pain of a DRILL on a cavity. He continued to be very gruff and rude, but gave me another shot. I felt VERY uncomfortable at how he was behaving, but I stayed and everything was finshed without incident. To be honest, he did a shoddy job on those cavities as well. He said he needed to check with insurance before we carried out our next few appointments. A few days later, my insurance confirmed coverage and payment. I called and left a message. A week went by - no response. I called and the office was closed for a week. I called AGAIN on the day they said they would be open, and left another message. He finally did call me back, stated insurance went through, but he would not continue with me because it takes too much Novocaine to numb me, and I am not a patient he can work with because of that. I asked him WHY he waited weeks to tell me this when I could have spent that time finding another provider for my cavities. His answer: It was too uncomfortable for HIM!!!! I told him it is uncomfortable getting sharp instruments and drills in your mouth without proper novocaine - AND it is uncomfortable having cavities and waiting to hear back from your medical provider. He admitted his lack of professionalism - I will give him that - but he was an older dentist in the field a long time. He should know better and have a better understanding on how to engage with patients. I am SHOCKED at this entire experience. Truly. Needless to say - I do NOT recommend this guy. RUN. I wish I could give zero stars.

I started working in Huntington last year, asked around for dentist reco's, and kept hearing about Dr. Kalmar. People raved about it and now I see why. I made my first appointment there a few months ago and after not having seen a dentist for a couple of years, I of course had a lot of follow up work to be done. As soon as I let them know that I had my wedding coming up, they bent over backwards to get all of my appointments in the allotted time. They even offered an extra cleaning day before my wedding free of charge. Because of all of the appointments needed, I had to see ALL of the different dentists at different times and each one was better than the last. It is such a warm, friendly, welcoming place, and the dentists really make you feel like family when you're with them. They work efficiently, yet in a very gentle manner. Only downside is that they book up quickly so sometimes you have to wait a few weeks to get an appointment. That being said, I've never waited more than 3 minutes in the waiting room so that more than makes up for it :)
