She even pulled out books to show me the muscular anatomy, so I could understand the muscles that are causing my boyfriend's headaches and how to best find them and work on them. I have some experience with reiki and she even showed me how to work reiki into the massage techniques. You can take notes or take pictures and videos with your phone so that you can bring this knowledge home, but you'll also have plenty of time to work on the techniques and build them into your memory. Abby is very intuitive and quickly picked up on our needs, and we had a very relaxing time. Massage is a great way for couples to care for each other and strengthen intimacy, I would highly recommend this class for any couple looking to destress together. Prices are super reasonable too. Though I generally enjoy a more therapeutic massage using deep tissue and myofascial release techniques, this was the most relaxing massage I've ever had - to where I actually fell asleep. Cici was very receptive to my requests for more pressure where it was needed. I do, in retrospect, wish she'd placed a bit more focus on my trigger points, but that was my fault for not specifying. Again, she is very receptive and easy to talk to - I'm sure that if I'd asked, she would have elbowed tf out of my stubborn knots. The building is small, right next to the nail salon in the Unity Shopping Center - small but clean. The room was lit dimly and relaxing instrumental music played. Cici used unscented oil, and then used a hot towel to remove it so my shirt would not be stained. I was provided with a bottle of water at the end of the session, and left feeling like I had some blood flow in my shoulder blades again. For a massage that's not specifically marketed towards pain relief, I'd give it a 6/10 for relieving pain. For relaxing and winding down, I'd give an 11/10. TLDR: if you need to relax a bit, this is the place. If you have mild or moderate muscle tension and pain, this is the place. If your back is a minefield, you'll get relief but perhaps not as much as a chiropractor with a massage gun.

I called on a Saturday morning and she told me I could come in right away. I opted for a noon appointment and she had that open as well. I went for a 60 minute massage. Let me tell you, it was far more than a massage. It was body work. She rubbed the knots and tension out of my arms, neck, shoulders, back, and legs. I told her my hamstring was bothering me and she rubbed the knots out of my muscles. I can't say this massage was relaxing and enjoyable. It actually hurt, HOWEVER, I really needed someone to get in there and massage the knots out, which she certainly did. The experience itself is no frills- this is not a typical spa experience if that is what you are used to. But I am a fan because I can tell I'm going to feel so much better once the soreness wears off. And for $60 (plus tip) for one hour of service.. it can't be beat!
