I must say i got there at 6 PM after walking my daily 10 mile cardio out in the valley fields in San Jacinto, Ca. I was so pleased about the parking in the back of an unassuming quaint cottage house. Upon entering i was greeted by avery kind lady who instructedmysrkf to get in my undies and under the sheet covers. The room was very clean & spotless. Ambient music filled the air and i felt comfortable right away. Soon after about 5 minutes an incredibly talented and kind masseuse named " Cindy " knocked at the door and her smile and kindness lit up the somber room. I felt so at ease and explained to her i have been on a health journey for over 5 years. I walk over 50 miles weekly and have putting off massage far to many years now. I went for the 90-minute deep tissue massage. It was the most detoxifying and cathartic experience i have ever had. There was a few times i actually started crying because of the release of toxins and my muscles screaming for attention. The massage was so intense and incredible. I had been coming to Zen for years and I booked a massage for my husband and I for his birthday. I called two days prior to make an appointment and when we arrived the day and time of the appointment I was told they didn't have us down. I verified the phone number and pulled up my call log to make sure I had the correct information and I did! I had a whole conversation with the woman the day I made the appointment regarding the time I requested, which wasn't available, so we found a different time and even the types of massages they offer and I selected two different types for me and my husband! VERY frustrating when I have given this special gift to my husband for his birthday and we were VERY much looking forward to this relaxing time. I've been hesitating on writing this, but anyone with genuine back problems could get injured here. I went in for a kinked up neck. I explained this to the front desk when booking, again in person, and then told the massage therapist. I had to tell her four more times during the massage that I needed work on the knots in my neck and shoulder. I went in for deep tissue and she spent most of the time rubbing my skin, distracted, and would do things to one side then not the other. I felt agitated that she wasn't focused. Finally after the 4th time of explaining and pointing to the huge obvious knots, she worked the area. Before I know it she has me sitting up and shes standing on the table. She grabs my chin and head.... pop pop! Then she holds onto my arms, puts her knee in my back and wrenches on me as I say ouch and too hard. She does this three times as I'm pulling against her protesting. I feel like a fool for leaving a tip in the end. I know in her own way she was trying in the end and doing her best. The language barrier was intense, I felt bad for her and I'm not the type to stiff somene on their income. Yet, here I am days later still in pain with additional mid back pain from the strain she put on it with her knee. Her knee! Is it even legal for a massage therapist to adjust your spine?? Which by the way didn't budge, my back instead locked up in pain and fought against what she did. I'm having spasms in my back that weren't there when I came in, and I can't turn my neck because of the pain and knots that I went in for. The place is a house converted into a business which is quaint. They offered water before and after, were very nice and all. I just can't say anything nice about the therapist in slippers and distracted who caused me more harm than good. I hope someone from the facility is fluent enough to understand my review and make a change. You can't adjust someone's spine during a massage, they have legitimate doctors for that. read more

So. I NEEDED a massage, like my life depended on it :p I stumbled upon this location on Yelp; however without any reviews. I took a look at their website, and their low prices pulled me in. I went in to get a Swedish Massage... $45 for 75 minutes! What a steal. Zen Massage and Spa is located off of State St. and Acacia Ave, near the Post Office. It's a small house turned into a haven of relaxation, peace, and semi-quiet. You enter the drive way, and there is parking in the back. As you walk towards the entrance of the house, you see the Zen Garden, sauna and jacuzzi on your right. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior of the place, it was a lot better than what I had imagined it was going to be, considering its location in Hemet. I was greeted by the owner(?) and she was kind and inviting, offering me a beverage and a seat in the waiting area. The workers here are primarily Asian, there were three of them there, and they spoke decently understandable English. I went in for my massage, which was amazing! My masseuse/massage therapist (what do you call them?) was very attentive to my needs, and made my comfort her number one priority. The Swedish Massage included the usual full body massage, with stretching and hot stones. It felt so good, and I was so relaxed and calm that at the end of it, I was like "Can I please just stay here forever?". Sigh. The only cons about this place is the location, because you can hear the traffic along Acacia Ave... there were several times when I could hear someone bumping to some good music in their car, but I personally wasn't bothered by that. This place deserves five stars, because the service is great and it's worth it. You can tell they tried to make it nice but skimped on stuff or did the work themselves so it was just really shoddy. I walked in and everyone seemed depressed and bored; like they didn't like working there at all. The room I was put in was dirty and mostly sparse but the parts they attempted to decorate were poorly done with knick-knacks and things that were falling apart, essentially. My massage therapist was an older lady and didn't smile once, rough hands, and without a good bedside manner. She fumbled with my covering sheet SO much and at one point even uncovered and exposed me. Not that she did it on purpose but it was real uncomfortable and, come on, you're a massage therapist and it's JUST a sheet. She also dropped stuff during the massage. Not relaxing. The street noise they can't much help, and there were times when loud motorcycles rode by, but inside the place the other employees spoke loudly, banged doors, and dropped boxes (I think) outside my room. It cost $55 for 75 mins (deep tissue) which seems like a decent deal but if you're not in a relaxing, safe space - what's the point? read more

It is a good massage, although I can't say it's awesome. It really depends on who u get but all of them are generally good. I live in hemet so i wanted to start out local, and i saw Zen massage and spa. When i read Zen im thinking like very calm and relaxing so it was worth a first time try. I took a group of my friends with me to try it out. When we arrived to the location the front looks like a regular house with a nice garden in the front. The entrance is in the back as well as the parking spaces, at that moment the regular house turned into a ''wow'' place, the back side had the sauna and jacuzzi which was a plus for me, the decorations added a relaxing tone. My friends and i entered the building and it was very nicely decorated, wasn't too small or too big but just the right amount of space to feel comfortable. The three of us were greeted by i think what was the owner? She was very kind and welcoming towards us, she spoke very decent english(this place has asian culture which i thought was pretty cool) and offered what the place has to offer. To start off they have you in the waiting room with awesome bervages. It was hot green tea with honey, and i believe it was homemade im not sure but it was really great. They had what I remember are four rooms for the massages to happen. Now for the massages! $45 bucks for 75mins?! Thats is a great deal and to add a bonus the hot stones stretching comes free with it! My friend Samatha is pregnate and they even offer pregnancy types of massages for a good price as well. We all did the $45 deal but Samantha and Kenny did a couples massage where they are in the same room, the massages therapist was very professional and made sure that we were very comfortable. These masseuses are not to rough either, they make sure they get every kink and knots from your parts of your body that cramps up. I have never felt so relaxed, it literally felt like I was on a fluffy queen size bed and just wanted to be lazy and sleep. The masseuses here are very friendly and some even play music to add more relaxation to the massage. Samantha had told me after they were done that their massage therapist was very good and had extra care with her and enjoyed it very much saying she was very professional about it. The cons about this place is very few, since its off on State street and Acacia avenue, it is down the street from the post office which is a busy street. Since the jacuzzi is outside you hear the traffic, which can be tolerable depending on type of person you are. I will definitely come back for future visits, i was glad that this was my first try at a massage place and this will probably be the only place i will visit. This was the first time I booked a 75min massage for my husband and myself at this place. This is the second massage place in hemet that we have tried and I have to say we were both pleasantly surprised at the quality of the massage we received from Fai and Candace. We usually travel outside of hemet for our massage, but a busy schedule makes it difficult to plan "alone time." Zen was only 15min away from home and was very affordable. My husband was seen by Candace, who was very knowledgeable and interactive. She informed my husband of some trouble spots she noticed and gave him a todo list to help improve his pain at home. Over all my husband rated Candace's massage as one of the best. I had Fai and to my surprise she was able to get so many of the trouble spots my physical therapist had given up on. I suffer from chronic pain and Fai gave me much needed relief from the pain. Over all we both had the Best Massage we had experienced in many years. Would we go again? Yes! We will be visiting Zen more often. Would I recommend Zen? I would highly recommend this place. Who do I recommend seeing? I love this place! My BF and I come here all the time the girls are so awesome and very helpful. He always gets me a gift certificate here and we always have our couples massages here, and of course I have one on one sessions to relax. The atmosphere is very quaint and relaxing. The best massage I have had is here and of course I venture else where but these girls have the touch and it always is a go back to. They also concentrate on any injuries you need to work out, this place is simply amazing the owner Sammy and all the rest are absolutely wonderful and I will always come back here.
