When walking in the bald white man who who greeting us was friendly at first until we were discussing pricing on wanting to change 40 for a pedi and if you want gel an extra 25 and I told my niece I didn't think it was worth that much then the man attitude was rude when I couldn't make my mind up about wanting to do my nail he rudely started laughing to himself as I was walking away I didn't appreciate that. The ladies who painted my toes were super nice but I didn't get my toes cured so the toes mess up instantly My nails was a different lady I said she can pick the shape she said almond this is not almond nor are my nails the same size. Mind you this is dip with tip.. there were multiple uneven parts on my nail and I told her I can see the dents so what did she do cover it with a pink gel nail polish ontop of my dip and when it should have been a clear coat to enhance the dip color.. let's just say it was my first and last time I spend 100 at this location in all honesty I should have walked out the door when he laughed But the woman who painted my toes was wonderfully sweet and gave great costumer service as of the lady painting my nieces toes. read more

That's an honest mistake but to accuse me in front of people and obviously talk about me with the other Techs in another language is very unprofessional. I've never once written a bad review, but this place was very disappointing. The workers were nice, but the fact that not even a week later all of my nails came off says a lot. After one of my nails popped off I found fungus under the nail. I got acrylics and a pedi done here and now have a fungal infection on 3 of my nails and my toe is numb (not sure if it's related but I'm alarmed). Not at all worth the money spent. The person who did my nails was named Kathy. She was rude and did a poor job. She rushed through my services, no massage during the pedi at all and cut me when doing my cuticles on my hand. She gave me my manicure while I was in the pedicure chair. I told the owner on the way out about a rude comment she made and he told me I didnt have to tip, but I did anyway. I just moved to the Peoria area, not that long ago, and I was desperate to find a suitable salon. Upon careful consideration, I decided to try out zen as it seems like the better fit. Upon arrival, it was one of the most cleanest shops I've ever been in! There was nothing on the floor, nothing left out, It smelled really good, it was spacious, It was overall very cleanly. Not to mention the mini tiki BAR they have! The atmosphere definitely suits the name, and will give you an overall relaxing stay. I've never seen anything like it! (I have added pictures of my before and after.) Before my experience with Zen I had acrylic nails, that were long overdue for a fill-in or change. I was also skeptical, because I really wanted to start my natural nail journey again but didn't know how to go about it, since I've had acrylics for so long. However, Booking here was the best thing I could've done. From the moment I stepped in the salon I was greeted by at least half of the stuff they were all very friendly, and welcoming! I had no idea what I wanted to get done color wise. The gentleman at the welcome desk, I assumed to be the manager (bald dude) took me over to the wall with thousands of colors and let me take all the time I needed to review colors. It was very nice to not be rushed in making up my mind. After I picked my color, they took me back to my nail Tech Grace. She was phenomenal. Since I did require a sock off, I felt kind of bad because I was going to take up so much time! I kept apologizing, and she just kept reassuring me that there is no rush to beautiful nails, and that she wanted to make sure she got everything off before applying my new color. She took her time, and kept asking me how I felt about my nails to make sure that my nails were how I wanted them. Needless to say, transitioning from acrylics back to my natural nails was kind of scary, but it was all worth it with grace! She re-shaped my nails and cut them to where they would be the most healthiest for me to start my natural nail journey. She was the sweetest, gentle, most patient, and thorough nail tech I have ever had. I will definitely be coming back on a regular basis, and recommend this place to all around. I also want to point out that the manager cares about his facility and his guests on a whole Nother level . One of the lightbulbs not too far from where I was sitting, kept flickering and going in and out, and it was bugging a lot of the customers including me, so The manager got a ladder and changed the bulb. I got a classic pedicure and dip manicure on 1/9. By 1/12, I had a noticeable chip in one fingernail and by 1/18, a larger chip and crack across a nail on the opposite hand. The service was great while getting the services done, but I'm fairly certain the base coat of the dip manicure was old, which is why my nails haven't lasted little more than a week without damage. I would definitely recommend the pedicure, but be cautious about the dip manicure. Maybe gel would have been a better lasting option. read more

I had an amazing experience here with Melanie. I have just moved to the area, and started looking for a new place that is clean, and gives great service and I found it! Due to Covid, they're taking EXTRA precautions to keep their guests safe, and I really appreciated all of the detail that went into making my time there so enjoyable and anxiety free. Melanie did an amazing job on my toes and recommended the best pedicure add ons. My mom even commented how well the polish matched these stickers I had on my nails. The fact that a bully of man approached me multiple times during my service to inform Me that my mask wasn't completely covering my nose is enough to turn me off of this place. He repeatedly peaked around the corner to see if my face was covered all while I observed another woman with her mask completely pulled down. He never approached and scolded her, just me, making quite the scene. I kept pulling it up to my eyelids with my wet nails. All while the tech had one a mask, a face shield and there was a plexiglass partition between us! I feel discriminated against because he assumed I am young. I just left this place and it was terrible. Terrible service and awful nails. I went up to the male there to tell him I was not satisfied and he was rude and gave me an attitude. I told him I was willing to pay $10 for the service because the lady I had was nice but she was terrible at doing my nails. I love everything about this place!! When you first walk in it feels like you have been transported to a beautiful beach island! So relaxing! The pedicure options are awesome but my favorite is the Lavender one! They massage salts, creams and lotions all over your legs that smell like this wonderful lavender fragrance and your skin feels so soft at the end!!! Pete is fine. The techs were fine. But today I went to Zen Nails with my daughter and two granddaughters Age 3 and 6 to celebrate the six year old's birthday which happens to be today. Which we mentioned when we walked in. The girls we're excited but kept their butts in their seats. Occasionally they did get a little too excited and we shushed them. Soon old white bald guy came out and spoke with both of them. He did mention he realized it was fun to get your nails done. But that they needed to use their inside voices. If you have a 3 year old you know they don't know what inside voices means. My daughter didn't take it very well but she kept quiet. I also kept quiet till we were getting ready to leave. OWBG had already told me they had plans to remodel the old section of the salon. So I went up to him and I asked him if he had any plans to make a kid friendly section. He smiled and said no. And then I said okay then we won't be back. This review is being written, Pete, because he said 'okay.' Old white bald guy basically lost 7 year client which is me. An 8 yr client which is my daughter. And a 6 year client who's been there on several occasions the last 6 years. My grand. We spent nearly $150 today but until i learn old white bald guy is gone we wont be back. SAD. As my daughter commented, ' we paid to be there ...thought we could have fun too.' I called on a Saturday morning to see if I could make a same day appt. They said there wasn't really a need and that they take walk-ins. When I arrived, they told me it was going to be 30 to 45 minutes. They were obviously very busy. They allowed me to put my name in to run an errand and come back in 30 minutes. Once seated, the pedicure was extremely rushed. From the time that I sat down in a chair to the time I had paid and was walking out the door was 25 minutes AT MOST. I'm not happy with the quality of work, as she didn't really push back my cuticles and instead just painted over them. I only get maybe two pedicures a year, so this is very disappointing. Also, they have multiple signs up that say something along the lines of "be patient, we make sure and spend the right amount of time with each customer and will do the same for you." Ha! I texted my girlfriends right when I left there, and one had recently had the same experience. I will not be returning. read more

I am new to town and had asked around about where to go for a mani/pedi. Since I am a licensed cosmetologist I am very particular about where I go and if they properly sanitize their tools. Zen nails came highly recommended by several ladies whom I work with. So, I walked in Friday for a mani/pedi, pedicure was ok. I liked that the foot baths had disposable bags and also that their tools came prepackaged. The girl who gave my pedi noticed I had an ingrown nail on my right big toe. She cut it out and at the time it did not hurt. However, I woke up Saturday and my toe was throbbing! It's now Sunday and it still is very sore. I'll be soaking it in Epsom salt tonight to see if it helps. I have had many pedicures by professionals and this has never happened. I'm unsure if I will go back again depending upon if I end up with an infection from this. read more

This was my first time here a well as a friend who suggested the place. We walked in around noon and were standing at the front for a few minutes. We noticed and older man which I assumed is the manager walk by us a few times but when our eyes met he looked away. We did not have appointments and didn't have to wait but maybe 10 minutes to be seated which was probably the best part of this place. I had a younger girl doing my pedicure and she kept shaking her head back and forth and tisking after asking about my tattoo on my leg and gauges. Not very polite. Did not talk to me at all after that just to the other women around her who all starred at my leg after talking. When she started to use the file she was filing my toes and not my nails. The price was a little steep for just a pedi (~50 bucks) and when I asked for flowers as my design I got zig zags, pretty zig zags, but nevertheless not quite a flower.
