A coworker recommended Metro Nails after getting a pedicure, so I thought I'd try them for a gel manicure. They were running a little behind for my appointment but the great job, clean facility and friendly employees made up for it. I mentioned the previous gel manicure from Lynn's (felt rushed, polish on cuticles, polish was either old or applied too thick and didn't cover entire nail, minimal massage at end with a lot of oil), and Eric corrected everything. He did a fantastic job cleaning the cuticles and was very careful applying the color. Short massage with lotion at the end. FYI, $30 at Metro (accepts credit) and $28 at Lynn's (cash/check only). read more

Wow! This place was great! I've never had my nails done before so I kinda went in blind but I was very impressed. I got a nail dip FIVE WEEKS AGO and they still look great! Plus everyone was very kind and accommodating. They even redid one nail that broke after one week. The pics show my nails the night of and today, 5 weeks later. Only negatives: it was $50, which seemed pricey to me but they were also very high quality and still look great! Brought my mother in law here. Great service! We got pedicures and everything was awesome. Nice color choices, good massage, and polite and quick service. They didn't offer the flip flops, so we kind of just hung out in the massage chairs to dry. It would've been awkward, but we had each other to talk with. The pedicure was great. I got acrylics and 4 of them are lifted. they are thick and much shorter than I wanted. They just kept filing them down. A guy started my nails then 3/4 of the way through a girl stepped in and finished them. The girl hit my skin with the drumel twice. Service was okay, they were able to fit my mom and I in for manicures right away. I picked my color and sat down in the chair and showed the guy what I wanted (a picture on my phone) and I thought it was fairly simple to do. I had picked a sage green color with matching glitter for my ring finger and I explained that I wanted almond shaped nails like the picture. The acrylic application was not the best, unlike many nail salons I've tried out. The tips he glued on are lifted off of my natural nail and there are big bumps and divots in the acrylic, and the shape is not even almond shaped, just rounded off square. The gel Polish needed a base coat, I read the box that they were in because I was confused why he didn't put one on and the application was sloppy, and has see through spots. My nails have been sore and hurting even 6 hours after my manicure and I am extremely dissatisfied, as I paid over $50.00 for this set. read more

Got the best pedicure and manicure I've had in a LONG time. They actually took their time and the massage felt so good. They actually used pressure and didn't feel like they were just rubbing my legs and feet with lotion. They have several dip colors to choose from and are very detail oriented with their work. By far the best acrylic set ever. They look real. Ask for Sam, don't be in a rush, let her take her time (60-90 min depending on what you need). You will not be disappointed! My daughter was in yesterday to have her nail extensions refreshed. They did a great job the first time, but this time not so good. The nail art she requested was an absolute disaster and she immediately took it off when she got home. Not a pleasant experience and not worth the $40 + tip. read more

This was one of the worst nail experiences I've had. I had two male nail technicians, one was working on my toes and the other working on my hands. The technician that was doing my French pedicure was rough and actually hurt me during the nail cuticle clean up. I showed them a picture of a nail style that was advertised on their website and my nails looks absolutely nothing like it. The work was extremely sloppy and expensive. However, when I did tell my nail technician that I did not like my nails he was very courteous and took $10 off of my overall purchase. He proceeded to tell me that the reason why my nails didn't look like the picture was because they didn't have the supplies to do what I asked for, but failed to tell me that before he started. I wanted to have an relaxing experience and do something special to celebrate an upcoming event I'm very disappointed. Will never give them my business again! read more

Highly recommend this place! It was my first time here and I checked it out as a walk-in based on previous reviews on yelp. The nail tech was very focused, straight to the point and checked with me to make sure I was agreeable to how short my nails looked, the color looked, etc. there was huge attention to detail. Also they used sterile Instruments in sterile packaging that I was able to see :) This is my new go-to! I've been to other nail salons in Peoria and have found this to be my new favorite. Found this place on a recommendation from a friend and boy was I not disappointed!! They actually have a student discount pedicure for $25 and it's one of the best I've ever had! The massage chairs are high end, it even massaged my butt! They really paid attention to small details here, I mean they epilated toe hair for gods sake, and gave the most amazing foot massage! This was the best experience I've had in a salon. We came as a walk in for a pedicure and they were able to accommodate both of us. BEST. PEDICURE. EVER. Came in to this establishment today, it was snowing so they were not busy at all. I came with another person and we both got pedicures. As there was no one else there we were sat promptly and they began the pedicure right away. This is the best pedicure I have had in the Peoria area. This is my favorite nail salon in Peoria. Professional and friendly service, and they treat their regulars very well. My no-chip shellac manis easily last two weeks. I love this salon. They give great care to details. I get a gel manicure, and they use an emory board to rough up my nail bed so the gel adheres better. No drill is used on my hands at all! Walked in and got three pedicures done immediately. Which is awesome! First big qualm: barely any conversation. It felt quiet and awkward. The technicians spoke among themselves a tiny bit, but otherwise just kind of observed us quietly. Not a huge deal, but just a thing that would've added to our experience... Considering the other two folks with me had never had a pedi done before. The gentleman who did my pedicure was a bit haphazard with his going abouts. The only real complaints here were the massage... Which was him just slapping my feet and doing the same movement over and over--not a lot of variety there. I've had better. He also definitely cut me while trimming my cuticles. Pretty deep... To the point that when he started painting my toenails the polish got into the wound and stung a whole bunch. The shape of my toenails (specifically big toe) is one I've never seen before either... rounded? That's a thing? Oh well. They grow quickly. A pro to the experience was that be was meticulous in his clean up of any polish mistakes. Took a brush to my nails to ensure that they were best looking. No quick drying. Sat in the chair until my toes dried... which naturally meant I poked at them and messed up the polish before they were dry. I didn't bother to get it fixed because frankly, I could've gotten this service at home from a friend. Not impressed overall. All three technicians immediately went to the back, left the door open, and talked amongst themselves while leaving us in our chairs. Seems kind of unprofessional. At least close the door if you're gonna mosey around? Oh, and when I pulled my pants legs down, I discovered the technician had just gotten lotion and junk all over the rolled up parts of it. Didn't try to tell me or warn me. I had no clue. Oh well. As far as atmosphere... Christmas music on the radio. Clean ish. Generic wall art. The floor was kind of dirty and the massage chair spa tubs looked a bit untouched. I don't freak out too bad about this, but there was NO ONE ELSE THERE... So you'd think it'd be a bit cleaner. Couldn't catch what they did with their implements after use. $30 for a pedicure with polish. I guess it was worth the price. read more

Great experience! I called right when they opened and asked for a noon appointment on a Monday. I just need a shellac manicure and they had me in and out in 30 minutes over my lunch break and the quality of their work did not suffer! I'm very happy with my choice of going here. read more
