Don't come here for a mediocre massage and then get scolded for VOLUNTARILY tipping. Extremely rude massage lady.

This is a little place in the mall that honestly does exactly what you need at the right price. You go in and behind the main wall are curtained off areas. The therapists have a Chinese style of massage, which helps SO much! I can in with a lot of tension and left feeling great. They are super sweet and the price point is perfect. There are two times I have been here and each was special in it's own way. The first time I saw Zen Wellness, their store was being designed and they were not open for business yet. When they finally open, I remember seeing a bunch of masseurs (males) sitting around in chairs looking bored, while the masseuses (women) were getting all the clients. I have had massage from both male and female, but I prefer female's hands on skin. If it's clothing massage, I don't care who it most of the time. Today I was greated by the receptionist and she greated asked me how long did I wish to stay? I went with 30 minutes, because I was pressed for time. An hour would have been better, but alas, I didn't. Once again, the men sitting around waiting looked bored, but they also didn't look friendly at all either. I was handed off to one of the masseuse and was taken around back to the massage rooms. I saw a bunch of curtin like rooms and a large staircase going up. I never saw what was on the second floor, but this store had a lot of space on their hands. The store was nicely updated and it did not smell like someone was cooking good, but bad smelling food. Following the masseuse (we'll call her Biyu) into the curtin area to the back of the room by the wall. Guess she likes privacy when she does her massages. The cuttings were kind of thin so you could see the outline of someone next door to you. The massage room was nicely stocked and the sheets looked new. She asked me to undress and stepped outside the curtin area. Undressing and folding my clothes, I finally got under the sheet and lay down. I don't remember if the mattress was heated, but I think it was. Biyu reentered the curtin area after letting her know I was ready. She ran her hands along my body through the sheet before begin ing to press down on my shoulders. This continued until she had loosened up my muscles. Biyu then pulled the sheet back until my buttocks were exposed. She then applied oil and proceeded to massage the oil into my dry skin. She was very thorough and even close to touching my genitals at times. The thirty minutes flew by and I was left wanting more, but could not, because of other engagements. I got Zen Wellness's business card with her name written on the card first next time. The lady was very nice and full of smiles. The woman seemed to enjoy her job very much. The men sitting on the chairs still looked bored and unfriendly as I had seen them coming in. I will say two of them were no where to be seen so they may have found a client. I went back here a year later, and saw new faces and found out Biyu no longer worked there. She had gone back to her country from what I was told. The woman that did my massage this time looked shy, but very experienced in massage. I don't remember her name, but we will call her Mila. I went for 60 minutes and 20 minutes into the massage, I upgraded to 90 minutes. Yes, Mila was that good. Should I come back for another tour, I hope to get a massage on the second floor. I have seen clients go up there. I would like to see what it looks like. This place is a hidden Gem. read more

Comfortable environment, usually quiet unless they land a customer who's cluelessly loud. Several of the folks who work there are just so-so, but I use Chuck often. He's very responsive, trustworthy and respectful, and has great touch. He's just very comfortable to be around. If the other staff were as good as Chuck, I'd give this place five stars. read more

Terrible experience. First it was weird that body massage came before foot massage for the combo package for me and my friend. I was left hanging during the massage while my masseuse wasted time retrieving oil and towels, in addition to skipping a few parts. Both our masseuses exerted so little pressure that I had to say something. My friend and I came out of the shop with our body temperatures dropped so low--a first for both of us after a massage. I might of found Fairfax's best kept secret for a 30-minute whole body massage...at the MALL! This place was modern with a flair of beautiful orange Asian lantern lamp fixtures. It was un- like other Asian massage shops, with the typical old cheap red and gold decorations. Cindy did just as I asked for. Two of us went. Mine I would only give two stars. My friend would give hers four stars so I averaged it. Mine I can say didn't feel like anything more than if a kid was trying to give you a massage and they didn't do my feet. My friend said they did her hands and feet and used their elbows a lot. Mine did do what felt like a hair shampoo but either way I would never come back. Also neither of us liked the head holder your face is in. It's a scratchy paper cover on it. read more

Great value and location for much needed mini-massages after work!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I had a 20 minute massage (which costs 24$). The receipt I received says $24 and I added the word "cash" in the tip line (I left a cash tip). This is the only thing I signed for. Today, my bank account reflects that I was charged $32. I tried calling several times but no answer. I know it's only an $8 difference but I did leave a cash tip (therefore tip wasn't added by the business just because). I would love to know how this happened if this isn't what I signed for. Just had a great full body 20 minute massage for $24 with the boyfriend. They were able to take us to a private room with two beds and give us massages at the same time. Came in with tension headache & asked for 40 minutes focused solely on neck, shoulders & upper back after explaining my pain. I had to ask the woman to increase pressure during the massage, which she did a little, but still not enough, and she commented my muscles were very tight (yes, that's why I'm here). Got up feeling the same as when I walked in. I paid $45 for the same massage quality my 6 year old son does. Decided to leave $6 tip for poor quality & was shocked when she insisted I give her $9 for 20%. I had to explain a tip is based on level of service & is at the customer's discretion. I always tip in accordance with my level of service and seeing as I didn't feel any better, was not going to just give 20%, same as I don't at a restaurant with terrible service. I gave her $1 more and walked out. Will never return to this place with presumptuous staff. read more

Decent massage for the price. I did the 40 minute massage. I wasn't for sure if I should have taken my shirt off or not and the therapist didn't give me any instructions. I emptied my pockets into the plastic bin and laid face down on the table. After the massage started, it was evident that I should have taken my shirt off. The gentleman who did my massage was to rough and when I went to leave a tip he demanded a bigger one. Now I'm normally a good tipper but I left hurting and a tip is a optional thing so to have a min tip demanded is beyond offensive.
