Today on May 24/2026 went to this location for some hair products. had the pleasure of having Gabby help me. Needed two products a shampoo and a pump . She was very nice and helpfull. Thank you! Apparently since have not gone to this location for awhile and when they moved some members loyalty name were lost. which is okay. I had the worst experience at this salon. I requested a simple trim to my hair and my hairstylist chopped 2 inches of hair even though I told her that she should cut less. I've been growing my hair for years and she just grabbed a blade and chopped it all off. She kept cutting and cutting and instead of detangling my hair, she grabbed a blade again and chopped off some pieces. When I told her that I didn't like it, she started rolling her eyes, was blaming me and she never apologized for my hair and the bad service I received. She just got mad and told the manager it was my fault. The manager of the salon was amazing though. She listened to my concerns (even though the hairstylist tried to cut me off multiple times) and offered that another hairstylist fixed my hair. She placed me with an awesome lady that was very nice and tried to make me feel good about my haircut. She blended my layers and even out my hair since it was all choppy and awful, and it looked a little better. read more

I went to Zennkai in Metrotown a couple of days ago to purchase a few products. It was a very disappointing experience. I had to deal with an incompetent employee who clearly had no idea what she was talking about. Even after I patiently explained to her that what she was telling me was incorrect, all she could do was repeat the same line she had delivered earlier. It is really unfortunate that they choose to treat their loyal customers with such disrespect - all this over an issue that was relatively trivial and would not have impacted their bottom line in any way. As a result, I will not purchase my hair-care products here anymore. There are plenty of other stores that carry the same products, and some even have better prices as well. read more

Went for a quick bang trim since I'm due for one. First time here. I asked her to straighten my bangs since my hair is a bit wavy, and I normally straighten them. I went in for root cover up, and a haircut trim. the stylist seemed to be taking on too many clients at a time therefore took way too long to do my hair. the root cover up, she ended up coloring my whole head pretty much. She asked me if i wanted conditioning treatment i said no, but she went ahead with it anyways. my request to trim my bottom of my hair she did not do ,she cut layers in the back that were too short at the top instead. did not look like i got a trim at all, which she said she did. she was very rushed with the haircut and blowdry process. my overall experience i was quite disappointing. My appointment took too long , did not follow my request on the haircut. disappointed with the end results. not worth the price. read more

Holy smokes. I have never felt so welcomed and taken care of! I had Jasmeen, head stylist ($60 for a cut, washing included), and I cannot express enough how wonderful my experience was with her: I'm very low maintenance with my hair (air dry, thin curls) and have never really had a regular hairstylist, but I tell you right now - I am never going anywhere else! She takes the time to really find out the look you're going for, gives suggestions for your hair type, as well as products (without guilting you into buy stuff, which is a bonus) and ultimately, makes you feel confident in how you look, because she takes the time to ensure that you're getting the style you want, while complimenting your personality. read more

It's been a year since I've last coloured it, and i trust no one else to be completely honest with ( yet ever so gentle and kind) with her opinion of what the right colour and cut will work for me. She's truly like your best girlfriend and stylist wrapped into one, and I would highly recommend her to anybody who wants the most current look ( especially colour ) for their hair. This place is a joke! When my regular hairdresser was on holidays and my back up hairdresser was celebrating her birthday, after looking around Metrotown where I live I ended up in this place. What a mistake that was. So dude starts cutting my hair and then half way thru he tells me he doesn't have clippers. Wtf? really? you just gonna use scissors the whole way thru? What a dumb a$$! Well, long story short dude butchers my hair 40 bucks later....I know 40 bucks isn't alot for most girls, but 40 bucks for a dudes haircut is alot......lucky I'm a guy and have lots of baseball caps. This is a review for the retail side of the business. I went in to purchase devacurl products. Knowing that this brand is almost never on sale, I was surprised when I was shadowed by an employee who informed me that they were buy 1 get 1 50% off. It was only after I left the store that I realized I hadn't been given the discount for my second product. Sadly, I was already at home. I phoned and was told that the product wasn't on sale, in direct conflict with what I was told in store. The store isn't large, and the woman who was following me (very pushy salespeople!) was at the till when I was trying to check out. They offered to return one of the bottles (after I pressed, the manager of the store was pretty rude) as I said I wouldn't have bought two had I known they weren't on sale, but I don't think I'll bother because it's not worth the return trip. Instead, I just won't shop there again. Go to Chatters, they're everywhere, they're cheaper, and polite. read more

Worst customer service I've spent so much money here and my full bottle of hair spray bottle top doesn't work thought I'd bring back for a swap and they refused because was purchased 3 months ago but I bought 2 at the time and there is full product I can't get out I asked to talk to manager where I was offered 20% off a new bottle. I got my hair cut, bleached, and dyed by Natalie at the metrotown location. Amazing job all around, and she was super helpful since it was my first time colouring my hair. She did a wonderful job to mix a perfect shade for me that is fading beautifully and still looks great even after a bit over 2 months. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for creative colours for their hair! Also, both her and the girl at the front desk were very kind and understanding when I had an issue with my debit card when trying to pay, great customer service all around! read more

4 days later, and I still can't bare to look in the mirror. I'm growing my hair out, so I only stopped in to get my sideswipe bangs trimmed really quick. It's $10 for bangs.. which I thought was a little much, but fine okay. I figured I was at a pretty high end professional salon. The dude starts cutting, not trimming, but cutting, and at that point there was no going back. Then he says he's "texturizing" and starts cutting sort of sideways... and the guy is actually telling me a story, which turns out is about some other girl whose bangs he was cutting, and he cut them to the WRONG side that she wears hers, and that she left the salon in tears. UHMMMMMM!!? Really! That's the story you want to tell me right now!? So he finishes, and my bangs look like Frankensteins short jagged forehead bangs...Then he wants to trim the rest of my hair. I immediately said I didn't have time and got up before he could do anymore damage. I don't know why, but I still paid the $10, and I was able to make it out of the mall before crying. If I had read the reviews on here sooner, I could've saved myself, so I am hoping it's the least I can do for anyone else thinking of going here. Went there couple weeks ago and decided to try this place. Well, they charged me $60 before tax and tips and my hair is totally butchered. The stylist use razor throughout the hair cut to cut my layers. My layers turned out to be very choppy and my hair has become so damaged. Not just that, my layers are not even!!! Stay away from this salon. I would NOT recommend this place unless you want to get your hair ruined!!!!!!!! read more

Im surprise that this place hasn't gotten any great reviews. But I am absolutely happy with my new hair. I went from pretty much black hair with highlights to silver. The whole process took 14 hours and multiple appointments. But it was totally worth it. Shout out to Natalie who did an amazing job! This is my second time at this salon. I had the olaplex treatment finished with a blow out by Natalie. I highly recommend doing it if you are on the fence! I left feeling beautiful and was even able to get a quick nap in while she dried my hair. The scalp massage was great. I wished it was longer but that's just me being selfish, it wasn't short at all. Once you are done, you get 10% off the products you purchase that day, and if you prebook your next appointment you get 10% off. This is great for a student like me on a budget. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before I let this place touch my hair. My regular hairdresser was away so I decided to give this place a shot. My girlfriend vouched for this place but her usual stylist no longer worker there. I was lazy to look for some other place so I just booked an appointment with whoever was available. This was without a doubt the worst haircut I've ever received. To start off with, the stylist Adam was incredibly slow and the water for the wash was frigid. I told him I only wanted a half-inch off, and he cut 3 inches off. He gave me layers I didn't want, put mousse in my hair that made it greasy, stiff and heavy, and then styled it like a 7th grader going to a dance. Had he not curled it, I would have seen that the layers were completely uneven, with random bits sticking out. They are also not blended nicely, with an almost tiered appearance. This place is actually not bad. Im only writing because i was there yesterday and i didn't catch the cashiers name but she was super helpful with my descriptions of bottles i needed but had no name for. Anyways the people giving a bad review are only doing it because of that one guy. Who i dont even understand how he still works there because i would give this salon a 1 for his service. I asked and paid for all pver highlights and i got half a head plus he put product in my hair which i told him i couldn't have since i know when bleaching your hair you can't wash it and i worked in an office my hair had to be brushable! He put it in anyways. Made me dry my own hair! The manager was shocked when i showed her my hair. And the lady that fixed it commented on his weird highlighting pattern. All in all i was taken care of so i didn't care... but every time i go in there and see this guy i walk right out. So thats business lost right there. How he continues to work there having all these problems with customers is a mystery to me. read more

The receptionist didn't tell the stylist about my appointment. When I showed up (on time), the stylist had only just started blowdrying the hair of the girl before me. Since he didn't know that he had another appointment, he had decided to take more time. Its a nice pampering treat for the girl before me, but they told me I would have to wait another 50-60 minutes. I cancelled my appointment and walked to the other salons in the mall until I found one that could see me right away. I found one, it did a great job, and cost 1/3 of the price. read more

I've been going to Jasmeen for cuts and colour for a couple of years. I've never been disappointed. She listens to what I want and adds very useful suggestions. My hair always looks great when I leave and the cuts look good for weeks. She's fun and friendly and her head massages are wonderfully relaxing. I appreciate that she is always learning new things as a stylist. She also cuts my sons' hair and they love going to see her. She was the first stylist that was able to help my youngest son relax for haircuts. read more

My experience is quite a roller coaster of star rating. Every year my daughter purchases a gift card for a spa/salon as a Christmas gift. I have been to very may salons and this was the first time I left insulted and in tears. I went to get my hair done.customer service was fine however the color was too dark. I debated and went in the next day to ask for it to be lightened. That's where the nightmare started, the stylist basically told me I can't afford to get my hair fixed. She said I have come with only a little bit of money. She went as far to put her fingers together to show me what small looks like. How dare she! She had no idea how much was on the gift card or how much is in my wallet. Like I said, I have been to many salons and I am very aware how much the service costs. Yes , I can afford it.I couldn't believe what came out of her mouth. I got upset and she went on to say that is not what she meant, although that is exactly what she said. Then instead of trying to solve the situation she decided that she can not do my hair. This person has zero knowledge of how to speak to people or has ever been trained for customer service. Just simply a bully of an individual. I left in tears and told my daughter what happened. My daughter called on my behalf and spoke to the manager. The manager first offered a deep condition and blow dry. I considered it but realized that I never want to step foot in this salon again and the conditioning does not compare at all to how much was spent on the hair color. To see that horrible person ever again would be a huge waste of time. My daughter called once more. She explained that since the stylist saw the amount I paid a small amount of money, she shouldn't have a problem giving it back. She was put on hold and the Manager advised her a gift card is available and can be used at Eccotique Spa(same company). I was happy with the offer, The spa is great as is the customer service. So all in all if you want to get your hair done, be insulted, cry, have a headache and ask for your money back. This is the place of you.
