I rarely review places, but I've been on the road in Colorado, and I have to say that Cindy and the Zen Zen Gardens is a must stop. I really don't like to do reviews because then it just makes so many more people go to places that are special, but this place is super special. The setting, which is out of town is absolutely stunning. The gardens and the tasting area is so very comfortable. They have beautiful Wines and the service and overall ambience cannot be Found Anywhere Else in this wine region, and we've been to several wineries here in the Paonia, Colorado area Period. She also has an Airbnb and some glamping tents. Love it and would absolutely come back. read more

What a wonderful getaway! I spent three nights at ZenZen in the Cosmo tent listening to the breeze and the birds. The tents are beautifully appointed (coffee and wi-fi, fresh towels) and have air conditioners that cool things down nicely (I visited in mid-July) for a good night's sleep. The showers have everything you'll need and the sheets are crisp and fragrance free. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. Cindie, the proprietess, was my gracious hostess. She and her staff were so accommodating, warm, and professional. They treated me like a prince! Everything has been carefully thought of to make my stay in the glamping tent easy and relaxing. The wines are wonderful (go for the petite syrah) and the charcuterie board turned out to be dinner one night. I will be back. This serene little farm is a keeper! Cindie has created an amazing space here at her home. We came in on a Thursday afternoon for a wine tasting. We tried all of the Alfred Eames wines available and they tasted delicious. We had excellent service on a beautiful wrap around porch situated on stunning grounds full of lush gardens just at the base of the West Elks. Coincidentally it was tapas night, so we stayed for some local farm to table tapas which were excellent as well. HIGHLY recommend a stop here for the ambiance and tranquility alone. We found this place last minute on hipcamp and it blew us away! There was good wine tasting right as we got in. there was easy check in and the service from the host was so amazing. Comfy bed, heaters, fans, power source, hot showers, coffee and tea in your tent! We only got to stay for one night but it was such a great experience! Cute dogs roaming the property too! read more

It was such a pleasure to stay at ZenZen Gardens. We "Glamped" in one of the tents, and we were very comfortable and warm. Take one part Sonoma and add a touch of Tuscany but with better mountain views and you have this idyllic spot. we camped for two nights in an RV. While the parking lot is bare bones, the rest of Cindie's farm and gorgeous gardens charmed us. We had a tasting of local wines on her romantic covered terrace then later enjoyed elevated tapas there with an interesting and eclectic group of locals and travelers. The food was fantastic as was the company. Cinadir said she would spoil us and she did! We were surprised and delighted to find such a sophisticated spot in rural Colorado. Stopping at Zenzen Gardens was not part of our plan for our trip. It was however, one of the highlights of our trip. When expecting just another wine tasting, it comes as a welcoming surprise to be able to relax, be waited on and learn about the wine you are drinking. One thing that stood out to me compared to other wine tastings is the owner- she was fantastic. You get to sit down and really appreciate the view, instead of stand at a counter. You are given water, which is not always the case. We ordered a charcuterie board, and it was very good as well. There was no hurry, which is also different. Many wine tastings make you feel like you are being herded through but not here. Ginger , who will guard you from any flying insect was also a pleasant addition. Being a flatlander from the Midwest who was missing my dogs, this stop recharged my spirits. God is good! read more

I stayed at the farmhouse on ZenZen Organics property. The grounds and landscaping is very sweet and its lovely to be in an old farm campus. I loved the green fields all around the property. However the gas stove was leaky so when you turned the oven on or tried to use the stove, gas was leaking intensely into the house. In the summertime, you can open up all the windows and doors, so that is what we did. Then we were there a little longer so we went and bought a toaster oven to use while we were there. Also there was sewer gas leaking up from the toilet. The sewer gas could not always be smelled, but occasionally it would really gas the house and that is also a potentially deadly gas. With two potentially deadly gases floating through the house at different times, I would be concerned to be there if one could not keep all the windows open. Also when all the windows were not open, because it is an old farmhouse, it smells of old wood. So I am giving One Star because without open windows it would have been intolerable for me. Also the cookware needs updating. If you are one of those people who doesn't like to cook on old scratched teflon pans, (also toxic) then you might want to bring your own cookware, and toaster oven, electric burner, which is what we did. We went out and bought our own cookware and a burner, and a toaster over. That allowed us to cook safely without breathing gas fumes or eating teflon while we were there. read more
