Super cute little store right across from the Tolovana Inn…read more Being from a small town, I can appreciate how well stocked their shelves were with both essentials and non-essentials. The walk-in beer cooler is accessible from both sides of the store and the selection of beer, cider, and wine was extraordinary! They had a variety of local and non-local, and all price points so you definitely have options depending on your mood. There were a ton of produce and fresh food options that I saw as well, even though we didn't purchase anything from those. I never caught the cashier's name, but she was a shorter, dark haired lady and was so so nice! She talked to me about my wine option and reassured my choice was a good one! Definitely recommend stopping here whether you're passing through, camping, or enjoying a beach getaway!

I appreciate having an occasional glass of wine, and expect that it's difficult to find a quality wine selection in a small town that probably depends very heavily upon the tourist trade. Frankly, most towns known for heavy tourist traffic usually don't do well when it comes to what they stock in wines -- they usually aren't that impressive. I was truly shocked to see an excellent selection of highly-rated wines, especially for domestic Cabernet Sauvignon. If you enjoy having an excellent wine, this is the place to find it.

I discovered The Soop through GrubHub. I was craving Korean food and it had good reviews all…read morearound. The first time ordered the Bi bim bap and Bulgogi beef. The dishes came and were not just good, but frigging delicious. There were fresh, crunchy vegetables, the incredible beef, and plenty of rice. My boys, who can be annoyingly picky, cleaned their plates. I had never been to the actual restaurant, because it is not in an area I regularly find myself. My son had a medical appointment right on NW 22nd, so we left early and headed to The Soop. I will always order their food to be delivered, it is my Korean ride-or-die. That said, the food is just that much better if you dine in. The space is odd and feels half done - the display of microgreens is now just containers, as far as I can see. Folks - none of that matters! Start eating your food, and the place starts to feel downright charming. I've been watching far too many K-dramas, and had recently seen a few with characters making their own Pajeon - a savory, huge scallion pancake. I decided to try this myself. I got a side of kimchi. It really was huge the size of the plate it was served on, and still I almost finished it!! The prices are good for better-than-most food. I have brought friends there several times, and ordered delivery for a group. My friends have loved the food, and asked how I found it. If this was in SE, where I live, it would be packed. Maybe I'm glad it isn't so I can get my pajeon without a big wait. Next time you're craving some Korean food, trust me, the Soop is where you should get it from. Heck, if you're hungry, just impulsively order from The Soop! You will be glad you did.

The Soop has been on my list for a while, and I finally got the chance to try it!…read more The soup was good though the mushroom felt a bit out of the ordinary. The paste in the soup also felt a little too grainy and not fully mixed in with it. I would say it'a definitely worth a try as it's very unique, but not the best I've has. The teokkpokki was great though! The sauce was very good with the rice cakes and the egg and gyoza brought it all together well! The store itself is in a bit of a weird place with a parking lot and a parking garage nearby, so only if you're familiar with the area, is it easy to park nearby. The lady working the counter was very nice! It is a order at the counter and sit at a table type of place which isn't too bad of a style in a smaller store!

One meal was enough to feed me all day, and the Spanish coffee I got was mixed perfectly. Seats are extremely limited, but the service was super fast so even with a full plate you get in and out comfortably in under an hour. Other reviews mention rude service staff, but my experience was the total opposite. I wish I could've gotten her name to give her a shout-out. :) I do have to mention the lack of parking. There were still empty tables when the parking lot was already completely full. There were maybe eight parking spots altogether, but that would be my only complaint.

House made of course so it's even better than the store bought stuff in my opinion because it tastes like actual chocolate. I ordered the filet minion chicken fried steak and it was cooked to perfection. So juicy inside and crispy but not like overly cooked crispy on the outside! Topped with a hot gooey layer of house made sausage gravy. The overall size of this steak was about as big as my face. To complement this enormous steak was eggs, a biscuit & some smashed Yukon potatoes..like they were literally small potatoes they just smashed which was really different to me because I've never seen that before. I also had to order the infamous cinnamon roll pancake I been seeing floating around on other people's reviews. IT IS A MUST.. and if you are ordering it to take home make sure you have a piece of it while it's still hot and fresh because that was to die for. I won't go more into detail about it you just have to try it. It will speak for its self. Overall the dinning experience was great! Servers were more than happy to get you whatever you need. We sat at the bar so y'all should try their drinks because they looked so good and the bartenders looked like they were having fun making them. The restaurant is a literal house and while charming it is small and packed inside and the parking lot is also really small so you may need to get there early or expect to park somewhere else in the streets. We got there an hour after they opened and it was only a 30 minute wait thankfully. Will be coming back again to try other menu items!
