I called to make sure they were open on Memorial Day and they were. After we got there, someone was explaining that we could grab a bucket with a little water to place freshly picked peonies into. There were clippers for our convenience. I want to say that they've only been in business for 4 years, I was just too excited to get out into the fields of peonies to confirm that fact! We got a bouquet of 10 beautiful flowers, and my sister had $20 cash, so we got 2 extra stems. It was a nice day to be outside, it wasn't super crowded. I loved watching people posing for photos. Now that I know about this place, I plan on returning every season!

I always loved seeing their flowers as I drove by. I never did stop by, and now I live in Hillsboro. It's not that far of a drive, but I don't drive by very often anymore. Well, I saw a water color painting class event on Facebook being held at Blooming Junction. My sister and I have been really getting into doing water color painting. I signed us both up. I was excited not only for the class, I was really interested in checking out what Blooming Junction had to offer! I'm so glad this opportunity presented itself. Such a lovely nursery, all the plants looked so healthy and well cared for. It's much more than a nursery though. There was a market to buy fresh produce and other sundry items. I was delighted to find Bubbies brand pickles. I find this brand at other stores, but the dill relish has been illusive. I was just thinking to myself this morning while making chickpea salad how I wished I had Bubbies Dill relish..and lo and behold I find it here! So happy! My sister and I strolled around before our class started. Bought a drink in the market to sip on throughout the class. There was a water cooler also in the workshop area. We had fun getting in touch with our creative side! After class ended, we strolled around some more. I ended up getting the Bubbies relish and strawberries. They were so sweet! While he maintained a schedule, he was also flexible when customers wanted to stay a little later. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago. Since the change in management, my experience has been very disappointing. The new management has been consistently rude and does not treat customers with respect. It feels as though they believe owning the farm gives them the right to treat people however they choose. It's unfortunate to see such a positive and welcoming place lose the customer-focused atmosphere that made it special for so many years. I gave them ONE star since there is no choice for No star!

We ended up getting ten pounds of Canadian Harmony and Starfire peaches. I can't forget the lovely aroma of the freshly picked peaches. It was 5 star friendly service from the entrance to checkout. They answered all our questions as first timers. They provided boxes with wagons available. They told us the row numbers of the available peaches. There is also a board after the entrance that listed the row numbers and peach varieties. Check their website first before going to confirm if they are open because hours may vary. It appears to be updated daily. When I checked in the morning, it showed the hours for that day were 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. It helped us plan our day as we decided to arrive sooner than later as the parking lot filled up. We are now going to include peach picking as part of our annual summer activities.

Parking can get filled up quickly but everyone was so friendly and helpful with tips about picking and the locations of the different varieties. The young man in the golf cart made sure me and my toddler were on the right path and also checked on and chatted with other people too. When we went there were Red Star, Vivid, and Starfire so we went around and picked a few of each. Check out was easy peasy with their scale and they also had local products and picked peaches ready for purchase. The young ladies at check-in were so nice and helped take pictures of us by their "Just Peachy" sign and put my wagon back for me (since I had my toddler with me and am also very pregnant lol). The service is amazing here, turned out to be a fun family activity, and of course the peaches were juicy and sweet. The season is short so please go and get your peaches and support this local business!
