I had a framed numbered print that had the paper back torn. I called Hobby Lobby to check the price to replace the paper - $3, but it would take a week to be ready. Since I was in Tulsa, close to Ziegler Art & Frame, I ran it in there to have the back replaced because the lady said she could do it without leaving the print. Having shopped at Ziegler's for over 40 years, I knew they would do a great job, and I fully expected it to cost a bit more; maybe $10-15. Was I shocked!! I walked out of the door with a new paper back for $37.98. What was even worse, I went to check out their ready made frames because I have three prints that I need to get framed. The thousands of exquisite ready made frames have been replaced with art supplies, and the ready mades were reduced to a miniscule number of frames moved to the NE part of the store. I've been a customer for many years, and Ziegler's is the best around. They've been in business 50+ years! Their store is huge, filled with all kinds of art, artworks, housewares, lighting and merchandise. Their framing shop is absolutely top notch, offering matting and framing services. Their art supply store is huge too, filled with every type of art supply and offering a number of painting classes and art classes. Supporting this place makes my Tulsa heart feel good, and it's easy to do since their prices are great and their customer service is so friendly. read more

I went here in August to get a large family portrait framed. They not only suggested I buy a pre-done frame, but they also suggested I cut the photo down to size a bit. Both suggestions were appreciated. It cost me just a little over $40 for a large frame and they did not charge me for cutting the photo down. I know I would have paid a LOT more for that at the local Hobby Lobby. (This was a pretty large photo--about 27 x 40".) We recently returned to get four art pieces framed. The help in picking out framing stock, matting and glass was much appreciated. We have not picked them up yet, but I have no doubt they will be great. (Granted, this foray was a bit more expensive than my $40 frame.) I love to peruse their galleries and look in that back rooms at the decorating pieces. It's more than just a frame shop. Last time I was in was 2 or 3 days before Christmas 2019. I needed to get something framed for my dad that I forgot I had purchased for him. I went in 20 minutes before they closed too. I was still treated quite well and friendly dialogue with the salesperson. They got my print back to me the next morning before noon all framed up with all of my nitpicky requests met. It was fast and right and while it wasn't cheap, it was absolutely reasonable. On the art supply side, I've been in several times and have always liked their selection of drawing supplies and paper. I am not, however, a painter so over never paid any attention to those supplies and cannot comment. read more

The entry is at the corner of 6th and Lewis, all the buildings are connected in a winding fashion. They have a huge selection of frames and artwork, including original oils. They have all kinds of easels and plate holders. All kinds of small frames with easel back. They have lots of Tulsa memorabilia, pictures, cups, t-shirts and books. All kinds of knick knacks, candles, cards, accent furniture, even a fireplace mantle. I saw a room where it looks like they give lessons!!!!! All the employees were very nice and helpful. There is another building across the street labeled art supplies. After reading the first reviewer's nightmare with custom framing, I would be afraid to use the custom framing. I did notice the prices were pretty high, but the frames and merchandise looks like very good quality. read more

First off they are way over priced! We came into the store on June 17th with 2 small pictures and 1 large one to get framed. After selecting JUST frames for all three (no matting) the girl gives us a total of $237. $125 for the 2 small ones, remember this is JUST the frames. I am a art collector so I have MANY pieces of art work framed, and those I had done professionally were professionally matted and I never paid this much! The large picture was a numbered signed picture from the deceased coach Bo from U of M. I paid a great deal of money for this as it was #15 out of a 1000 signed by him. The picture came with certification and a picture of Bo signing the picture. The girl explained that they would put these 2 items in a envelope on the back of the picture. We were told 2 weeks they would be done. As of 2 weeks, July 1st, we get no call. I call July 2nd and they have to check to see if they are in. They are, so on July 3rd we drive up to pick them up. Here is where they lost a customer and respect: 1. They misplace the picture of Bo signing the picture they framed. (They finally find it 3 days later). Why was this NOT kept with the picture? 2. The 2 small photos you can tell where they seamed them because glue was still all over the seam in 2 areas (looked very unprofessional), there was a small chip in the wood frame on one of them toward the bottom! This was upsetting given the price of $125 to frame them! 2. We wasted a trip because we couldn't take all 3 pieces of art work home because they loose a vital piece. Oh, and to top it off the girl doesn't even apologize till I say sorry to my husband for them screwing this up! She acted like what they lost was nothing, and questioning if we even gave it to them. The stress, the anger and frustration of their mistake was taken lightly by them. Only thing the owner did was bring the picture to us after they found the photo they lost. He didn't discount anything for our trouble, and when my husband asked, his response was, "well, I did find the picture!" And something about them struggling and maybe going out of business! How is this our problem. 1. If your prices weren't outrageous maybe that would help! 2. You state the items would be completed in 2 weeks, you did not meet this time limit. I had call even to check. 3. Poor quality equals poor business! Glue on frames? Seriously? 4. Educated your employees on manors! She should of been more understanding! Given my husband and I worried for 2 days that they lost it, the item wasn't completed when we picked it up and the lack of customer service on his employees part, he should of done more. Very disappointment in the manor this was handled. I won't return and darn sure wont recommend them. Highly disgusted! read more

Quick and relatively inexpensive professional framing. I've had all of my diplomas, licenses, art and pictures framed here. If you buy a poster frame, they even install everything for you included in the price. They also have various prints, framed and unframed for sale, with of course a specialty selection of Tulsa themed art. You can likely skip browsing and shopping for the other various knicknacks they sell. If you are in to making art yourself, they sell those supplies as well as have a studios and work shops to attend. read more

Another great frame by Ziegler. I've been bringing in old (1920s era) family photos to be framed, and picked up the most recent one yesterday. They scanned the original at my request (so I could give it to my uncle) and unfortunately the scan got framed, not the original as requested (I specifically asked for the photo to sit on top of the mat, to show the imperfections in the original). Sadly I didn't notice this until I got home, about an hour away. I was a little worried that they'd give me a hard time about it, but when I called today to ask what I should do about getting it corrected, the nice woman on the phone told me just to bring it in next time I'm in town and they'd fix it for me. So, despite the mistake, still a 5-star review because 1- good customer service and 2- the framing is still beautiful, even with the wrong photo inside. :-) read more

Ziegler's staff is friendly and helpful. They have a great selection of artist materials and frames.

I can sadly say I too have had more than one bad experience here. Staff has been less than helpful. A couple years back took a custom piece with several piece for custom framing. After no little help. The use of silicone on my project (not correct) I was charged almost $300. It will cost much more than that to fix and reframe. Very sad. At one time they were great. read more

My only framing experience with Ziegler's was OK. I had issues with their quality control and having items ready in the time frame promised. It's hard to be upset because everyone I dealt with was very nice and courteous, and they remedied all of my issues. So not totally smooth, but I am happy with the outcome. I thought pricing was reasonable for quality framing work. A couple of tips: (1) Be very explicit about what you want. Don't just assume they will do things a certain way. Make sure the person taking your order writes down exactly how you are envisioning the piece to turn out. If it's not written down, it's as if it never happened. (2) If you bring in your item along with something else (ex: packaging, accompanying items that will not be framed), make sure it is written on your order sheet that you want the other items back. For some reason, they think they are supposed to throw out anything that is not being framed. The store itself is quirky and unique and worth a visit regardless of if you use their custom framing. read more
