They don't have a waiting room for customers, so you need to stand outside while they clean your car (There aren't a ton of shops nearby to walk to while they clean your car). Box-in-Hand does an amazing job cleaning your car. I had some stains on my fabric seats, and they got them removed!! My steering wheel was popped out of place while they were cleaning the car, and it wasn't locked when they finished. I didn't even realise it wasn't locked in until I was pulling onto the road, so I had to pull over and lock it. They move your seat adjustments, steering wheel, and windows to clean the car, so don't be an idiot like me and take 2 minutes to make sure your steering wheel is locked before you leave. Here on in Mechanicsburg, Shiny Shell is the newest and the third car wash to open with the 2 mile stretch on Carlisle Pike. And the other two are national/regional chains as well; namely, Cloud 10 and Mod Wash. I've had my cars washed in all 3 facilities. Even though Cloud 10 has the most clout & presence, Shiny Shell in my opinion has the most utilitarian value. I gave it a try during the pre-opening weekend on 9/21/24 (officially opens on 9/24/24). From the get-go, the camera deciphered my license plate, identified me as a member, and automatically opened the gate. Also, unique only at Shiny Shell: 1. I was given a dashboard wiping pack in addition to the customary air freshener upon check in. 2. There are 2 different vacuum nozzles: a standard one and a small one for hard to reach areas. 3. There is a faucet in the member lounge where I can wash my hands (listen up Cloud 10 & Mod Wash). 4. There is a complimentary fountain drink station in the member lounge for customers. 5. Work-in-progress: a play area for kids while you do the vacuuming and wiping. These added values are enough for me to bump up my rating to 5. PS. I do notice that the car aren't as dry the moment the car leaves the tunnel, but that's a small miss.

The car wash did pretty good but there was a lot of dirt it couldn't get off, but thankfully shiny shell provided bottled cleaning spray & glass spray, and plenty of microfiber towels! We went around the car and hand wiped my car until she was shining! I really liked that this car wash had a "floor mat" cleaning area as well as a spot to spray them with water!
