Had the best time staying inside the park! Very clean, spacious, and the front desk was very helpful. There's a microwave, a water station, and a vending machine inside the building AND a common space with TV and chess. There's a grass area right outside the lodge you can have a picnic at. Later in the day you will see plenty of deer and also some turkey. The grotto trail (the trail towards Angel's landing) is about 15-20 minutes away and is very walkable. Overall had a great experience and very glad we stayed here! read more

Mid January offered cool weather and no crowds, which was perfect. The rustic Lodge was nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and happy to help get your stuff from the parking area if needed. Our room had a view balcony with seating, a comfy bed, our own full bath (hot water was a bit slow truth be told), mini fridge, coffee machine and supplies, in room safe, tv, USB ports, desk, chairs and plenty of storage. The common areas had cushy seating, tables, a fireplace, microwave, recycling and an ice machine. When the shuttles are running, you'd just park and ride, which is great. There's coffee and food in the main Lodge building, which is convenient. Other lodging options were camping in the park, plus we noticed many little places in Springdale, UT, outside the park gates. wake up, put on a shirt (cause it's july and it's hot); step outside, and stand in awe, being just in it. or: morning hike is over, take a shower, be refreshed for a second afternoon/sunset hike. or: wake up before dawn, get all your stuff together and just start up the west rim trail and watch the sunrise from somewhere up high set an alarm for midnight on a new moon day in the summer. if the sky is clear, bring a blanket and find a really dark place, facing south, unobstructed by trees. look up, and if you have a camera that can take a long exposure, as little as 10 seconds can be enough (unfortunately from there, to get it to pop you'll have to do some significant editing/balancing) catch a shooting star with the people that you love. come back, and experience all of this with each other again read more

Best place to stay if you are going to hike. Easy access to trails. Staff were very helpful and kind. I have an EV and there are two chargers free to guest but one is out of order. The food options were limited for the season I went. I had the breakfast buffet which was all you can eat for roughly $20 per person. Probably a lot of more affordable and better value options out there if you are not into maximizing time outdoors. read more

This review is just based on my very quick stop at Zion Lodge during our visit to the park. The outside is really attractive and the architecture is nice. The building is 100 years old this year and I always appreciate historic buildings. The inside was clearly redone - a more modern lobby area flanked by a gift shop and stairs up to the restaurant. This was more of a disappointment, as I would have loved if they'd retained the original character of the building. Often crowded at night as people hop off the last ride from the Zion shuttle, so plan your dinner accordingly. Magnificent view of the Zion mountains. Polite, helpful staff. The food is generic; nothing too healthy or scrumptious. Just remember it is at stop 5 of the Zion Canyon Line (green). It is the only restaurant within Zion National Park, so take care and fuel up. First visit to Zion and first experience staying inside a national park! There's a parking lot for cars. The shuttle was closed for the season when we went in February so the park was quieter. Lowkey love offseason traveling. Don't mind cooler weather and I love no crowds. The room was cabin style but clean and plenty of space to put bags down. There was a shared kitchen downstairs for folks to hang out and enjoy food in, like a dining hall/bring your own food. Short walk to the main lodge with a restaurant and small shop for trinkets. Enjoyed eating at the restaurant- was exactly like home cooking! There's a short hike to the start of some really great hikes including Angels landing (you need a permit) and Emerald pools, which we did for a shorter, easier day with our 7 month old. Lot's of kiddos and families on the trail. read more

Clean, convenient and serene when all the daytime crowds start leaving. You're not staying at national park lodges for luxurious accommodations and amenities, even though you may be paying just as much. The draw here is that you have the privilege of staying inside a beautiful park and have the best access to the park during your stay. While others had to take shuttles in from nearby Springdale, we were able to walk out on our balcony and enjoy the serenity around us. We could easily walk across the street to the trailheads or hop on the shuttle to another trailhead. Food options are obviously limited and a bit costly but adequate. We chose not to drive out for food and just enjoy the restaurant inside the lodge. The room itself was adequate. It was clean, well maintained and had everything we needed for a short stay. We found we didn't even need to use our car once we were parked. The best part of staying inside any national park is when the daytime visitors have not arrived yet or have already headed out. The park takes on a completely different personality and you will see wildlife come out of hiding. The stars at night are magnificent since there is almost zero light pollution here. One thing to note, if you're trying to work here or keep in touch with anyone outside, the cell service is almost non-existent. Wi-Fi service inside the lodge is also really bad, even if you are in the main lodge area. Try to plan any outside communication accordingly because it probably won't happen around here. read more

Extremely comfortable visit. Beautiful location, very nice room and bathroom area. Loved our front porch with rocking chairs. Sat out there in the evenings and watched the family of deers come up for the evening snack of grass, bugs??? The restaurant doesn't have many options nor does the cafe. They did have a ton of servers though. Gift shop was nice and had a large selection as well. As we visited in August we had no issue with parking. Received gate code and red parking pass several weeks before our visit to allow us to get to lodge since driving wasn't permitted in the park. Shuttles were frequent and convenient. If you want to go to Springdale make sure you to take your receipt from entering park with you. We didn't have a receipt or my dad who has a VA park pass. So we had to pay to get back into park. read more

Staying in a National Park is awesome and the Zion Lodge lets you do just that. They have a number of cabins and hotel rooms. Some of the cabins have fireplaces, while the room we stayed in just had a king bed and was more of a standard hotel room. Think of a slightly dated hotel, but the location inside Zion National Park more than makes up for it. Our room had a comfy bed, heating, and a balcony overlooking the beautiful park. There were some dining options inside the park even in the off season and checking and checking out was pretty easy. Some of the more popular trails are easily accessible from the parking lot of the Lodge, which makes it a great jumping off point for exploring the park! read more

Came into Zion National Park not having a place to stay for the night so we took a chance and came into the Zion lodge which is right inside the park. Went to the check in desk and unbelievable to us they had one room left. Loved our stay. Quaint little cabin room. Only negative were that the pillows were uncomfortable but all else was amazing. Limited wifi but when you are in the lobby area there is plenty of seating to relax for a moment and catch up on your emails lol! Outside the lodge there is a beer garden so you can sit outside enjoy the Mountain views and have a beer. Inside upstairs in the lobby is the Red Rock Grill. We had dinner there and it was amazing. They have a cafe for a quick drink, snack, sandwich or cup of coffee and they also have a gift shop. You might see a wild turkey roaming around or a deer. Staff is very friendly and can answer any questions you have. read more

Super cute lodge that you can stay at within the park! We didn't stay here, but it is one of the shuttle stops and so we stopped here just to check it out. Fantastic views of the Zion mountain range from the expansive front yard of the lodge and very cute woodsy decor throughout the interior of the lodge! There's a gift shop here, so I picked up quite a few cute pins, stickers, and postcards to commemorate our time at Zion! Great spot to stop in if you want to rest (they have plenty of chairs and sofas in their lobby and just outside the front of the building to relax in), use the restroom, and get some souvenirs while you're at it! read more

One night stay in December to spend a weekend in the park. We stayed in a cabin room, which was small but overall comfortable. The fireplace kept us toasty warm all night. We had a tiny porch which was great, but it was angled in a way that we couldn't sit outside and stargaze (which was really our goal). I'm not taking any points off for that. The furniture was solid and the mattress was fairly comfortable; the bathroom was clean. Honestly, those are the only things that I'm looking for in a hotel room. The water got nice and warm (though pressure left something to be desired). Considering the age of the lodge, it met all my expectations. read more

I gave 4 stars for location, however with the amazing location comes some down falls. 1. Make sure you have the gate code before you head out. There is a gate to get onto the hotels property and you will not have cell signal. The hotel is set back from this entrance about a mile. There is no one around to let you in. 2. They only have one restaurant unlike the hotels located near town. The hotel has a beautiful location with gorgeous views, immaculate grounds, and even some wild life (deer, wild turkey and more) but you are limited to the one restaurant. Make reservations well in advance! The rooms are nice and include a patio, refrigerator, coffee maker. I wasn't so happy with the shower curtain as it smelled pretty bad, but the rest of the room was clean. Staff are helpful and courteous. Food was ok. Views are AMAZING read more

Our family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights recently in the John Wesley Powell King Suite and it was glorious! The suite was clean and well-appointed. The patio was private and facing out towards the monumental red rock cliff faces. It was quiet and we had little foot traffic outside our room. The room was also so dark with the blackout curtains closed! That helped us get a little extra rest. the wifi was slow but we found it totally acceptable given the location and actually slightly better than I expected. do be aware the wifi is not secure so use at your own risk. The restaurant is good but not amazing. We've eaten there many times over the years and 5 times this last week. It is very reasonably priced, has a great staff, and unbeatable views so i'd definitely recommend it. Also, stop by Castle Dome Grill for a beer and grab a soft serve. The beer, ice cream, and fries are good. Not sure id recommend much else there. It is Aramark ballpark food. The lodge location can't be beat. The staff were almost all super nice and accommodating universally. We felt like locals after 4 days and considered staying an other 4 lol. Now that we have stayed here, we'll never go back to staying outside the park. read more

We stayed at Zion Lodge for 3 days at the end of November and didn't regret a single minute. The location is incredibly convenient--right inside the park! Our room was on the second floor. The heater worked perfectly, keeping it warm and cozy despite the chilly weather. The view from the balcony was breathtaking; one day we saw deer, and on another, wild goats. Noisy, thin walls, room amenities not maintained and falling apart. The only upside is the location inside a national park. But exclusivity and monopoly breed mismanagement. They sit back and don't care; people will come anyway; that's the mentality. Check in was alright if a bit cold. Nothing was explained. WiFi very weak (but that comes with the territory; we are in wilderness). We got a cabin which is not stand-alone. It is part of a group of four cabins that are all semi-attached under one roof. It's charming but its attachment to other cabins creates a problem. We could hear literally everything from next door. There's a door to their cabin from inside ours (near bathroom). These connecting units are terrible in design. Even with the door closed, everything could be heard from conversation to hair dryer to footsteps. The entire wooden structure just resonates. There's a nice gas fireplace but the remote is so finicky. Took us forever to even get the fire started. We asked for help and repair, but of course neither came. The front desk was dismissive and didn't even bother taking down our cabin number before hanging up. We asked for a space heater. Nope they didn't have any. It was early March and it was sub-freezing with rain and wind. The fireplace is the only source of heat here. We were lucky to eventually figure out how to get it started. There is a fridge and a microwave, a hair dryer, and plenty of space. Everything is aging and old (not in a nice way). It has a mountain lodge charm, which is nice, but we are just asking for the basics (for things to work and not be broken). One can't live and thrive on "charm" alone. There is only one mug and it's half broken! The Zion Lodge clearly didn't care about anything or replenish anything. read more

Bad Reservation System Booked a Stay at Zion Lodge in January. Changed my plans and found they had no record of the Reservation. Six Months Later, got an email one day prior saying WELCOME. Called, Found out they have a bug in their System that makes it lose records that they have know for a while. Called and since the email was sent one day in advance and they have a 48 hour cancellation Policy, I'm out the deposit. Bad System that people know are bad. Fixes: 1) First E-Mail Confirmation should say don't use the web site and only call to Cancel. 2) The Website to Manage should be fixed. 3) Until the Website is fixed, it should say "If you can't find your reservation, call." 4) Big One. Send an E-Mail Reminder 3 Days or 4 Days or a Week In Advance. You are sending it 24 hours in advance to steel people's deposits. I'm visiting Zion, but now staying at a nice AirBnB under AirBnB rules of engagement. read more

Fantastic location! Right in the middle of Zion National Park. Perfect for busy and non-busy months at Zion. There is a shuttle bus stop right in front of it. The price is fair. We had one of the suites, with a great balcony and a very nice living room. It was great. They lose a whole star for me because of cleanliness (or lack of it...). There were so many bugs in our room, beetles I think they were, that one morning I woke up to one squished under me, which grossed me out. I wish they would do some kind of extermination between guests. The coffee machine also didn't look super clean when we first arrived, and I did a few water runs before using it for coffee... Staff is great. The front door staff is super knowledgeable, kind and friendly. read more

Beautifully situated in the Zion National, Park, Canyon, this historic hotel, offers a taste of remoteness with all amenities. Meticulously maintained, this property is a basic lodge with cabins available for overnight stays. The main lodge building houses reception, a gift shop, and the only restaurant located inside the park. The property is exceptionally clean and the rooms were super cozy. Anyone attempting to work remotely or addicted to Wi-Fi communications be prepared to let it go and enjoy the surroundings. The rooms are set up with Southwest decor and very comfortable. The main building can be a bit of a walk to some of the rooms which might be a challenge in bad weather. We were fortunate that the weather was beautiful while we were there, and saw some wildlife right outside our windows, that included deer and turkeys en mass. There is also complementary EV charging available. We decided to check out the restaurant and were pleasantly surprised with a very nice selection of well prepared food with farm to table fresh ingredients. The food was wonderful and creative; salads and the trout were just fantastic. The only catch to eating at this restaurant was ordering and paying before you went in to sit down; this created a bit of an inconvenience if you wanted to order more items that you had to keep returning to the line and cashier. Clearly the servers who are exceptional also find this process a little frustrating as well but, overcame any issues with the process by providing outstanding service. We also enjoyed the Buffet breakfast, which is available daily at an exceptionally reasonable price. read more

THIS is the way to do Zion right! Yes, it's expensive, but the location is worth every cent. I stayed in a cozy little cabin, and I will do that anytime I want to visit Zion in the future. No need to mess with the shuttles and waiting in line. You're right at the Grotto trailhead, which leads to all kinds of hiking. This is especially lovely if you scored a morning permit for Angels Landing. You can get on the trail before the crowds! Customer service was great. Check in and out were a breeze. Amenities are: location. They also have an ice machine. Being able to drive your own car into the canyon is awesome, and you can leave it parked at the lodge all of your checkout day too. I stayed in a cabin, which had a nice remote control fireplace, coffee and tea, and a microwave (no fridge). There is a little bathroom with a sink in it, and across the hall there was a little kitchenette area with another sink and mirror, nice to have. It had a full sized ironing board and iron, though I'm not sure how often those get used, lol...why iron for sweaty hikes?! No tv. Painfully slow WiFi; an excellent excuse to unplug and bring a good book. The little covered porch was cute and had a bench. I didn't eat at the restaurants; their offerings are Xanterra basics. read more

We stayed here in Zion. We overall really enjoyed it, highly recommend it, and would gladly stay again. The location is excellent and extremely convenient for exploring the national park, especially since you are guaranteed entrance and parking with your car if you stay here, and because it is very close to trailheads. It is also right in the stunning setting of the valley, the cliffs of which loom all around. We got a cabin, older and less updated it seems than the rooms in the hotel blocks, but we preferred that greatly. They retain their old-fashioned rustic charm and character, which is very nice, they are attractive and cozy rather than characterless. They are also very comfortable, with nice beds, a small kitchen area in addition to the bathroom, and are pretty roomy. They have a gas fireplace as well. The main hotel block is less charming and seems more plain, and also seems more crowded and busy, but we did not go in any of the rooms so are not sure what they are like. The lobby is not super fancy but is nice. The restaurant upstairs is similar, nice but not exactly fancy, with something of a cafateria vibe but with some nice rustic decor plus wonderful views form the large windows. Breakfast was a buffet of hot and cold items, served cafeteria style. It was good and overall the food was enjoyable. Dinner was not good. Two of us got steak, one rare and one medium rare, but both came out extremely well done, andthe same. The rest of the stuff was just basic, very mediocre food. This is a nice place with a great setting and location, plus charming cabins, but it is not as nice or flashy as some other national park places and the food is mediocre. That said, we were there for the location and cabins, not the food. There are more food options a short drive away in the town of Springdale, just outside he park, but even those are at best just very good and all have something of a captive audience. read more

I absolutely loved the cozy vibe I got from my stay here. I had a quick 2 night trip but the lodge exceeded my expectations! The location, view & accessibility made it worth it. Although I was happy with my stay I do have a couple things to note- no mini fridge, so buying any cold food to store was non optional. No microwave in the room. No complimentary breakfast. No stable wifi/connection (no really, you're unplugged.)since I stayed here in the off season the prices of the lodge are most likely very different during season & I don't think I would pay much more for my stay read more

Beautiful cozy historic cabins with gorgeous views. Wonderful location! Convenient and easy access to park. Would recommend leaving early in AM if you don't want to wait a while for shuttle service. Must reserve Cabins early. My only complaints are full sized beds not so comfortable-we all woke up sore each morning. Also would suggest directions for operating fireplace. Couldn't figure ours out and woke up one night sweating bullets. Recommend getting breakfast and or lunch supplies in Hurricane that can be stored in mini fridge to make meals easy and affordable. Bring dishes, dish soap and utensils too. read more

We were fortunate to reserve a cabin a few days ago. Most national parks you have to plan a year ahead. There was plenty of parking right in front of the cabins. There are nice waking paths between the cabins and lodge. Beautiful views!! The cabin had a great gas fireplace, a comfy bed (even though it was queen sized), a bathroom with a tub, and another room with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, drawers, iron and ironing board, counter and mirror. There was a desk with a chair, a bench at the foot of the bed, and two comfy chairs with a lamp in the corner. There was also a nice wooden bench outside on the front porch. So lots of different areas to read or relax. We were watching a movie on our laptop around midnight when the lights, WiFi and fireplace went off. We called the front desk and were informed there was a scheduled electric outage for three and a half hours. Hmm. Fortunately we had several flashlights. I thought the room would get really cold, but it didn't. Would have been nice to be warned about the lack of electricity. Free breakfast buffet at the lodge restaurant is included with the room rental, which was good. I reviewed that with the Red Rock Grill. read more

The Zion Lodge is the most convenient place to stay since it's actually in the park, but don't expect more than average accommodations and food. Service was generally good - at the restaurant we had pasta and trout. Out of the two the trout was better, but that's not saying much. We stayed at the hotel (there are also cabins and suites) and I was surprised to see that it wasn't very ADA friendly. No ramps into the building and no elevator either, so not very accessible. There are also no refrigerators in the hotel rooms, but there is a microwave in the common area. read more

Our family stayed this Beautiful place on Thanksgiving weekend. I booked the hotel 5 months before the trip. It's a very popular place, hard to book for holidays. The location was excellent. The shuttle bus stop is right front of the hotel, and many hiking trails start from nearby . Room was very clean, the view from the balcony was amazing . And all hotel guests receive an access code to pass the gate so we can drive up to the zion lodge. And also receive a parking pass too. Very nice. read more

Terrible customer service. We came on a tour with 25 people. Our bags were dropped off and delivered to assigned room while we were somewhere else enjoying the beautiful park. When we returned some of us (me included) had no bags. They delivered the bags earlier and then reassigned the rooms when we returned hours later. When our tour director tried to get assistance in finding the bags they were of little help. They told us that they didn't have any night service. I found our bags by going to the room which was x out on my card holding the room keys Knocked on door and a young mother with two small children let me in to retrieve my bags. Carried them down the stairs myself. The stopped cleaning the rooms on multiple stays until you leave. They will provide fresh towels if you call. The food in the restaurant on second floor of the main building was terrible. My hamburger must have been sitting awhile because it wasn't warm The views were fantastic with free shuttle service to move around the park. The only lounge inside the park with other motels outside the national park. A nice gift shop in the main building. FYI - heard from our tour director that starting now the restaurant will be serving diners on paper plates with plastic ware. They are having staffing issues. Enjoyed the view but hated the stay. read more

Staying inside the park definitely has its advantages BUT not enough for paying these prices. This was the second time we stayed didn't write anything up the first time because well everyone deserves a second chance. The cabins have gotten even dirtier, cob webs and dust balls inside the room we spilt some water and cleaned it up to our surprise the towel was black with dirt. Beds are super soft and uncomfortable. The food at the lodge is horrible too ate at the breakfast buffet 17 a person for a holiday inn breakfast complete with fake eggs. The restaurant also has cobwebs and is so dirty. The Togo sandwiches were just as bad with day old hamburger buns and fake eggs. Check in was anything less than friendly, lady with dreds made me wait for 5 minutes while she did something without even acknowledging me standing there. I was the only one there!! It's really sad because this place and restaurant could be so great but skip it and stay inside Springdale there are so many great options for lodging and food run by people that care. read more

The Zion Lodge is a fun communal meeting place where most, if not all visitors convene, at some point during their visit inside Zion. You can get food here, use the clean indoor restrooms, or enjoy your own picnic lunch outside. Just don't expect any WiFi, despite the fact that they technically have WiFi access. The Zion Lodge is also where the popular Emerald Pools trail begins. You can capture some nice photos from the bridge as you're heading to the trail too. We found the lower trail very busy, even though we were there before summer even began. One word of caution: I really liked the idea of being able to endlessly refill your water bottles with their free spring water. However, I didn't feel so well about 5 minutes after drinking it, and I didn't feel well for about 24 hours afterward​. There was nothing else at all that I ate around that time that would've caused that, so our conclusion was that there was a 99.9% likelihood that the spring water was the culprit. read more
