I've been tanning at the Ann Arbor Zip Tanz the last month, today I was home and wanted to stop in and just do a one time tan cause it's been 2 weeks and weather has been crappy. so I went in and I clearly interrupted social hour with the staff. The young lady behind the counter recommended I do a lower level since I 'didn't have a base tan'. I told her as I laughed that believe it or not this is a base for me, I just started out super pale. I could tell she wasn't use to a response and I made her uncomfortable so I chose the lower level knowing I could go for max time. I have been to this Zip tan before, I know that there are larger rooms available, she put me in the smallest room and the smallest stand up. I couldn't move, I'm a larger woman and in that instant I felt so disgusting and fat shamed. When I walked out she was laughing at my clear discomfort .To the young lady behind the counter, I hope no one ever makes you feel how you just made me feel. This new store is clean and beautiful! They have TWO new Versa Pro spray tan booths. Victoria was so friendly and helpful. I have been going someplace else with an old, junky Versa Spa booth that broke down all the time or they ran out of solution. I live in Canton yet I have had negative experiences with trying to obtain a Spray Tan using VersaPro at the Cherry Hill and Haggerty (Canton) location and go to Plymouth instead (regularly). One time (March 2021) I was told the computers were down most of the day and to go to the Plymouth location. More recently (May 2021) I was told there was, "no water" and as a result couldn't use the VersaPro Sunless tanning booth--and to try the Plymouth location. So 2 stars (at best) at the Canton location. So I go regularly to the Plymouth location. It seems at times recently (May/June 2021) there isn't consistency in the results of the sunless tan using VersaPro at the Plymouth Location. I follow the same procedure prepping (exfoliating) and sometimes I get the color I want in 5 hours (using the Medium setting) and sometimes it takes 8 hours. Wish it were more consistent like it was over the 12 + months prior. So 4 stars at the Plymouth/Sheldon Road location. Matt read more

I tanned at this location after the Livonia location closed down. They were not affiliated. They offer lay down beds, stand up booths, high pressure tanning and versa spa spray tanning. Memberships are decent prices depending on what you are looking for. The location is extremely clean. They did a great job opening this new location. read more

I never feel like the people are friendly working there. Today when I came in I saw that a certain bed was empty and asked if I could have bed 6 and the girl rudely said I have to clean it and I already put you in 16. Mind you I was the ONLY ONE in the place....! One day I came in and it might have been the owner or manager but he was the nicest one there. Also I cancelled my membership and changed my mind and wanted to continue it and the girl said sorry you can't take a lower package or some nonsense but to keep a customer I would have signed me up!! I received a text message on my birthday (04/19/1992) from Zip Tanz followed by a link. The link stated Happy Birthday and to enjoy a $1 spray tan and/or $1 UV tan. Valid day before, day of or day after. I went to the salon one day after my birthday (04/20/2022) thinking the gift was still valid. The lady at the front desk said "Oh, we don't offer that nor have I ever heard of us doing that." I was confused.. I showed her proof of the text and link I received. I was pretty shocked and quite upset that they would not honor the gift. I've been to the salon several times and had great customer service up until yesterday. I was really looking forward to my visit just to relax and wasn't willing to pay $15 for one visit. Please don't send out texts with invalid information. read more

Horrible, they upsell you with a $9.99/month unlimited tanning special. Let me tell you how this is like standing underneath a light bulb in your ceiling, the bulbs are not hot at all for the $9.99 bed, I guess you get what you pay for. But here's the kicker. I was charged 13.47 for my first month and now I'm being charged 10.99 per month instead of the $9.99 they have on their flyers and windows. Definitely not worth it. I'd go elsewhere and pay a bit more for newer and stronger tanning beds/stand ups. Seriously, RUN!!! read more

I would not recommend having a spray tan here! I have never had this kind of experience in the past. I had a 3 dollar coupon so I went. So thankful I didn't have to pay full price. Never going back!!! read more
