This Zips lost my favorite pants earlier this month. When I picked up my dry cleaning on October 8th, I noticed an unfamiliar pair of pants and advised the representative that the pants didn't belong to me. The representative said that the manager would look at the tape and call me back. I didn't receive a call. I called today (two weeks later) and was told that Zips has a month to find my pants by law, but they won't call me back to tell me they didn't find my pants. The representative (Megan) was rude and unresponsive when I expressed concern that I hadn't been contacted. She just kept repeating that by law, they had 30 days to find my pants. read more

I hadn't been to a ZIPS in years, and since I'd forgotten why, I decided to give them another shot at my friend's suggestion of their low prices. My first time went well, or so I thought, until I took my 7 garments out last night to choose an outfit for today. The garments were neatly pressed, but still had very obvious makeup and food stains or new water stains (linen slacks). They also smelled like they were pulled from a dirty clothes hamper and not just freshly cleaned. I called this morning to speak with the manager and was told that I had needed to point out the stains at drop-off. Regardless, I am going back with all 7 items to request a full refund today. I do not want them handling my clothes again and will remember why this time. read more

I recently began using the ZIPS/Lanham location because of convenience. This evening I arrived to pick up my dry cleaning at approximately 6:45 and approached to go in and a gentleman informed me that they were closing early. I showed my ticket and reminded him I paid and he told me he would get my laundry for an extra $10.00. Wow; quite shameful. read more

Not so friendly or customer service oriented when mistakes are made. I have seven dress shirts that were ruined but the stains where noticeable when I picked them up. When I went to put one of the shirts on it had a splash stain on the right sleeve cuffs. I went to grab another and realized it had the same type stain in the same place. I went through the rest of my shirts and they were all the same. The items were taken back to the cleaners, for which they claimed it might have come from splash up from a wet parking lot. We will not in approach that crazy story. Anyway, the offered to test and clean the items again, but when they could not get the stains out, they were completely done with me and claimed it was not their fault. I have attempting to complain to the franchise managers but they are not being responsive. Warning low cost sometimes means little or no customer service when it counts. read more

I do not recommend using this ZIPS' Lanham, MD location, because they have lost or damaged my clothing on several occasions over the past few years. They damaged five of my brand new white dress shirts over the past several months. They have also lost at least three of my shirts over the past 2 years. On two occasions, I have received clothes that did not belong to me. With regards to my damaged white dress shirts, they damaged five of my shirts in the same location-- a tear approx. 1.5 inches above left arm cuff. I discussed damage with store manager who informed me that the damaged was not caused by their store, which totally puzzles me because the shirts were brand new and not damaged before they were cleaned. I continued to use ZIPS services at the same location for about 4 more months until today when I noticed the another one of my white dress shirts was damaged by this location. This time the damage is on the same left arm sleeve as the other damaged shirts, but the damage is actually on the cuff this time. The damage is a series of tears that make up about a quarter inch diameter circle with a couple of small tears close by the main damage. I would have stopped going to this store with the first lost clothing, but the nearest competitor, Dry Clean Depot in Bowie, Md is too far away to be convenient; However, I think it's time to re-evaluate and consider other options because I am discontinuing my business with ZIPS' Lanham, Md location. read more

ZIPS lures you in with cheap pricing, only to slowly eat away at your patience, your clothes, and your pocketbook. I used ZIPS for a wihle because they were cheap, and they were located right by my fiance's work. Their work as mediocre -- I often got back pieces that either didn't get stains out or had NEW stains that weren't there before. They usually fixed these when presented with them, but it always took way more effort than it needed to -- you have to persuade them that they did something that needed fixing, or else they won't fix it. The last straw came when they lost a brand new $90 J. Crew dress shirt of mine without an explanation. This was immediately brought to their attention, and they made me fill out a "claim form" with a bunch of information about the shirt. Weeks went by with no response, so I began to call them. No calls were ever returned. After several weeks, I FINALLY got through to a manager who then claimed that I hadn't filled the claim form out properly (total BS) and that he somehow just hadn't gotten the numerous messages I had left with his employees (also total BS). After making this contact, I was expecting things to be made right, only to find out that some employee had been able to locate some white collared shirt on J. Crew's website for $64.50, and so they would only pay me that amount. The moral of the story is that you get for what you pay for, and with ZIPS you get cheap, shoddy, and inattentive service. Zips Cleaners damaged my expensive wool coat. When I informed the supervisor she told me "we're not fixing it. You can go buy some leather straps and we'll replace the damaged ones for free. I asked for the corporate number she gave me a the General Manager's card. I called, left messages sent e-mails for over 2 weeks with no response. After I left a message saying that my next call will be to Seven on Your Side she call me back the same day with an attitude saying she was on vacation. She basically told me the same thing with an attitude that they will not buy the leather but will fix it if I buy the leather.. Worst customer service I've ever experience. Not to mention my coat looked like it was covered with angel hair. I guess it's true. You get what you pay for. I wish I had read the reviews before I took my coat there. They damaged my coat so I don't feel I should have to run around trying to find replacements parts. read more
