I will be starting this review by saying I have bought 5 Taylor's from this place. Each and every…read moreone of them is unique in styling ,quality and performance. I can honestly say the service knowledge and generous allowance of time I was given by the sales people here have been unmatched by anyone else. You can go to Guitar Center or any other warehouse guitar shop and be treated like cattle by limited information from the sales people there or you can go to a place like this and receive the knowledge and know how from those who really do know about the guitars they're selling. The only fear I have here is I tend to buy another guitar with each visit. Lol However, that's simply because everything they have is good quality with equal value.

After talking at length with a sales person on the phone, my blind music partner and I were assured…read morethat the guitar and amplifier we inquired about was in stock. I did not mention that we travel with her Guide Dog (Ferguson) from Guide Dogs For The Blind in San Raphael. We arrived, having traveled an hour from El Cerrito, fully prepared to spend ~$4000, and see if they could order another $4000 worth of gear. While attempting to seat my Blind partner with her pup, a short, young, bespeckled man rushed over and said "No dogs allowed in here." I quickly informed of the "Guide Dog" status, to which he replied "Doesn't matter- you can't have a dog in here". I gently informed him of the law, via ADA, and he repeated, "Doesn't matter, you cant have him in here". At that point, the man behind the counter shouted, over a few customers' heads, that he had allergies and we need to get the dog out. I told him we'll be leaving, but that he should familiarize himself with possible exemptions of ADA rules. My feeling is, that if we had been treated more politely and professionally, we would have been happy to return later, when he was not present, to consummate a win-win deal with a different sales person. Seriously rude treatment from both staff members. This is not a misinterpretation of the exchange; these guys were crude. I am neither vindictive nor litigious by nature, nor is my Blind partner. But in this case, she is seriously considering action.

I just went to the School of Rock San Ramon concert in Danville. The kids were amazing. So proud of…read morethe talents they've been blessed with. We left when the CHILDREN started introducing the songs politically and the parents likely weren't in agreement (only one person in the packed out audience clapped). That ruined it. This was supposed to be a celebration of San Ramon's kid's achievements. Politics??? Really? Politics weren't what these parents were here for. More importantly politics are not appropriate when the kids are too young to have strong discernment between what their teachers are telling them to say and what they are seeking to understand and cultivate for themselves. Because they're kids and they're getting a cool opportunity to perform, they might even be too intimidated to refuse to say it ...which is straight up exploitation. School of Rock: please don't manipulate our kids that way, stay in your lane. Parents: be advised that you will not be your child's only moral influence when you send them to this music school. They don't just grow talent. They tell them what to believe and you might not agree.

This place is great EXCEPT they cancel lessons LAST MINUTE 1 to 2 times a month. They do…read morereschedule but that is a hassle. If you cancel they charge you. That isn't right. If they can cancel last minute but you get charged if you have to cancel they need to change their policy. Great place but unfortunately we are looking for another lesson place.

This review is about the manager of music and beyond, Lindsey Baird…read more My daughter went to music and beyond since she was 8 months old and I have never had such a disappointing experience with this business. At age of 5 we decided to enrol our daughter for piano class, Lindsey Baird sent me a Bank and Credit card authorisation for the automatic withdrawal of tuition, the way the authorisation red was like a blank check that allow them to withdraw whatever amount they want from my bank account. When I sent an email and requested to specify the monthly tuition, she stated that I was rude asking for that and they will never state that in any form or bank authorisation . Then in a following email she stated that our daughter was not a good fit for the classes and we should look elsewhere for lessons. I believe she may had a bad day or she did not know the meaning of customer service. But sending such a rude response to a customer of many years is not how our community in Alamo function. The teachers in Music and Beyond are really hard workers, but Lindsey's poor customer service can drag down any business.

Varun was assigned as her instructor. We had no idea of what to expect or how she would progress. Wow! We have been pleasantly surprised with both Varun and Music N Beyond. She just finished her 2nd recital, and these piano lessons have given her confidence and a talent she can use forever. We can't say enough good things about Varun. He is patient and caring, has a good attitude and is a great teacher.
