He said that he "assumed I needed work right away and since he's busy, he decided not to call me back." I don't need someone right away, this was not a correct assumption. Upon further discussion he basically told me my house/job was too small for his "high end" company. He also started asking about extra projects to make my job "worth it" and when I told him I was a DIYer and could do those projects myself he sald "well I don't know how handy you are honey. You should take the other quote you've gotten." Based on this dialogue alone, I would not recommend this company. Unprofessional demeanor, unwilling to respond or refer me to someone who would handle a "smaller job," and extremely assumptive about the scope of work without knowing me, or speaking to me beforehand. A year ago, in this economy - I ASSUME he would have loved the work and the referrals I could bring.

His quote was straight forward. I had a few quote from a few other painters. One of which charged by hour but could not confirm how many hours he would nee. Another charged by sq.ft but after going into details there were surcharges and other charges for changing colors. Robert quote came in half but much more reasonable than those guys. He also could get started within a couple days. On the painting day, everything went smoothly. He came with another man on time. Both of them moved some heavy furnitures (others were telling us to move by ourselves), taped and protected the floor. They did not skip another coat (even though it was not needed) to finish the job early. At the end, they made sure all furnitures were back in place. I would hire them again.

They power washed my house that Wednesday. They told me would be back the following Monday. (That's an old contractor's trick). They resumed the following Monday. They were here all the following week which was not the plan. 1. They cut a wire to my Bay Alarm security system and damaged several connection points. 2. They broke the transformer to my landscape lighting. 3. They painted over the cobwebs in my breezeway. 4. They left my 50 ft. garden hose in knots. 5. They broke the latch on my front gate. Jorge painted the doors...horribly, see pictures. We complained to Ray that Jorge left the doors in a horrible finish. Ray apologized and said he could have Jorge come back and fix them, I said no, if this is how he left them I don't want Jorge "fixing" them. His other solution was his other painter coming back from Mexico mid February. Well we still haven't heard from Ray about fixing the doors. He has completely taken our money and ghosted us now, not returning voicemails or texts from my husband and I. I feel very taken advantage of. Also we finally found the name of this company matching his name and phone number bc he told us the name of his company was J R painting, which I couldn't find on the internet anywhere. They just finished the exterior of our house, which required them to go through the house to reach the back. Each day they tidied up the first floor areas and picked up their drop cloths so we could access the living areas on that floor without going through a work zone. I was really impressed with the amount of preparation they did on the house before they even started painting, and feel the house is well protected now in addition to the aesthetics of a crisp paint job. Alex's quote wasn't the highest or lowest of those that I received. It was very fair. He also spent the most amount of time checking over our house and walking me through how he would have his team prep the house for the best results. Once they started working they were extremely through. I think all in all they were working on our house for 6 weeks? There were about 4-5 coats of paint on the whole house. It's very thick and I expect this paint job to last much longer than the prior one. We also had a lot of repairs that were discovered that needed to be done once the scaffold went up. The prior owners had deferred a lot of maintenance as well as left over 30 years of cords on exterior which Alex's team cleaned up. Alex was extremely kind to help find tradesman to come help fix things for us. We paid extra for that but the prices were all very fair. I would definitely recommend anyone that needs their house repainted to call Alex. His team lead Gaby is also equally great to work with.
