The greens are falling apart in places, some spots need to be leveled out as balls roll back when they shouldn't, other items breaking apart. Yes, as the other reviews state, it is in need of a little maintenance. But -- that is not to say it wasn't fun... because it was! We had a blast. There is a canopy of trees providing nice shade to the whole course. The holes themselves are creative and most are challenging. This was the strangest thing ever. We go up there at 9o'clock at night and there is an open sign. It was completely dark but then had an honor system box. We thought OK we will try it but then we realized how dark it was and could not play. It almost felt like I was in a scary movie and somebody was gonna jump out and grab us :-) it looked like a really cool course but not a lot of direction on how to use it. We went and it looked closed but the sign said open, approached to find a honor system box, I paid the $10 for 2 people and not a bad course. Needs some updates done and some gardening but for $5 all u want to play was great. The bathroom was clean, had toilet paper and even hand sanitizer. HA! This place is the best. $5.50 for 18 holes mini golf, all you can play. You pay an honor box, grab your ball, club and score card and pencil. We played a few rounds of putt-putt on the 18-hole course, which is well-shaded, a welcome amenity on a hot summer day. The course itself has some challenging holes, but we all enjoyed ourselves amongst the jungle animals and tiki-style adornments. The golf clubs are sanitized prior to each guest using them and social distancing can be maintained easily here. There were other families playing and everyone was very respectful of spacing and not rushing the other players. At $5 a head, this mini-golf location is a great family destination in Gulf Shores, AL. read more

Would not recommend, course needs maintenance badly. Holes are shallow which frequently causes the ball to pop out, even when putting softly. And the overall layout of the course makes no sense. Usually a mini golf course starts with the easiest hole and I would say hole 1 is probably the hardest on the whole course. So do with that what you will. This located was extremely sketchy. No one was at the front desk to take money and there was also a metal box telling you to insert your money. You can literally walk up and just start playing without paying but me being the good Citizen that I am paid for a round of miniature golf. The courses were awful. Obstacles and carpet not maintained. Before going to each course you have to do a clean sweep of all the leaves stems and nuts that have fallen from the trees. As Lee mentioned, this place has seen better days. I would argue that it's more like a mini-golf course from LOST than from Life After People, particularly considering the large polar bear that faces the street. Maybe it was just my sunny disposition from being on vacation, but I found several silver linings to the run-down-ness of it. It's completely shaded, so if you're sunburned from too much time at the beach, this would be a good option. It's only $5 per person for as much as you can handle (which seemed to be 2 rounds each for everyone who came through while we were there). It's not crowded, which is a major plus for taking a 22-month-old who loves to hit things with his golf club but doesn't understand the finer points (such as not picking up your ball and moving it closer to the hole). Ok, so the surface of the holes is orange. Sure there's a tilt/slant/slope to most holes, but isn't that part of the challenge of mini-golf? The main con for us was that it is cash only. They've got some refreshments, but since we only had $12 cash to start, we didn't partake in any of those. Women's room was surprisingly clean considering the state of the course. read more

The courses are very simple and it doesn't take too long to get through them, but it's a lot of fun if you aren't worried about all the theatrics and want a cheap thing to do in the area. The parking lot is what my husband referred to as "sketchy" but upon closer inspection, I would consider it having "character" decorated with a tiki and animal themes throughout. The greens were well taken care of as well as the sidewalk paths. As for the landscaping-it was extremely lacking maintenance. The large animal statues are very run down and falling apart in places. The course was challenging, but not fancy. Staff was kind and seemed to be family run. A clean restroom is available as well as ice cream treats, drinks, and snacks. What drew us to this course was that 90% of it is under the shade of trees, which in a nearly 100° heat index is important as well as the cheap price of $10 for adults and $5 for kids for all you can play. $5 all you can play mini golf and it's open late! Husband and I stopped by on a whim after a late dinner on a Thursday while we were on vacation. It was busy, but not overcrowded. It wasn't a fast round of golf because we had to wait behind 2 groups, but the holes aren't too challenging so completing them doesn't take a long time. The course isn't kept up to 4 star standards and the decor is very laid back and somewhat hippie feeling. I loved it! They have some great signs hung about. If you're looking for something fancy, then you can take yourself on down the road to the overcrowded, overpriced "family fun" center and pay an arm and a leg for one round of mini golf. With that being said, you get what you pay for. This is a great way for family and friends to enjoy an affordable fun time. The course is definitely outdated and small, but it was very clean and well maintained. We had a great time keeping score and it didn't matter if a party in front of us was moving slowly because we could just jump ahead and then circle back around since it was all you can play. When we arrived the window was closed but it said they were open. On the window was written "drop money in honor box" so we did. A man then comes to the window and asked how much we put in there and we told him. Party of 4, placed a $20 into the box. He was very rude when asking for the tax to be added to the box. This wouldn't have been an issue if he would have met us at the window. He was rude again and asked did we not see him sitting in there?? No, dude. Get off your butt when you have customers. As far as the course goes, it's ok. Entire course was dirty and hadn't been cleaned off so we were constantly removing debris off the course. We were playing at 5:30pm on a Friday so it's not like we were the first customers of the day. I would have gave it 1 star had it not been $5 for all you could play. I parked in front of the golf place to go to the zoo (they share a parking lot with no signs saying specific parking areas) and a man came out and told us we couldn't park there if we were not going right into the golf place. he cussed at me and my mother in law in front of my 1 year old daughter because I did not stop getting her out of the car. I told him I was planning on trying the golf after we saw the Tigers but he didn't care. then he followed me across the parking lot when I moved my car! I don't plan on ever going in there now, and will tell every one in all of my social groups the same. Do I have to enter a star at all? After checking in and while waiting to use the restroom before playing, my husband suggested I just use the men's room since they were a one toilet room with a lock. As soon as I went in, the employee knocked and began loudly banging on the door. I quickly came out and tried to explain what was going on and he was very rude as he told me "we do t do that kind of stuff here." When my husband told him he was being rude, the man told him if we didn't like it, we could get our money back and leave. This place is pathetic...my family and I drove 45 minutes to come play. Everywhere online it says they close at 11:00 pm. We pull up they have a open sign that is lit up in two different windows and a sign pasted on the window that has the hours that stated that they close at 11:00. Even tho we showed up at 9:30-9:45 the young lady turned us away saying she was closed and cleaning up. We were all confused and tried asking her why does it say tell 11 and why do you have two party's currently playing if you are closed? Why do you have an open sign that is on? Why are they're people playing? Why is they're a sign that says you close at 11. The only thing that was said was "okay". My mom and I just visited this business on Sunday after hanging out at the zoo, Alabama Gulf Shores Zoo (excellent btw!) and had a good time! It's small and under kept, yes. But for $5 for all you can play in a resort town where she and I didn't really want all the crowds and high ticket prices it was perfect! We enojyed his clever signs and attacking the obstacles (nearly literally lol). If you aren't any good at the game anyway and you just want to spend time with your loved ones then this is quite suitable. It is shaded and cool. He sold treats. People make the best or worst of their experiences, not the business. If you are like-minded then you will be more than satisfied at this location. We took our daughter (5) here last Thanksgiving, and she loved it. No, it is not in perfect shape, but it is fun. It has a Gilligan's Island kind of feel to it, but fun. We are heading back to Gulf Shores in a few weeks and I was telling her about the Pirate Putt-Putt place, and she said "NO! I want to go back to the zoo putt-putt."
