Walked in today, middle of May, and thought I'd be able to still get a five dollar po'boy,NOT. Charged $10.99 for six shrimp, bread that tasted pretty stale, one really small pickle, and not enough lettuce to taste. Thought it would be even better quality, when it was double the price. But, I was wrong! I will not be going back, and I will never pay over $6 dollars for it again. And, the customer service is lacking. Guy who made my sandwich didn't seem happy to be there and kind of annoyed that he had to wait on me. I get so aggravated that the winter specials end, before the busy season even starts! We were the only ones there and basically the only ones anywhere in sight! You would think they would keep the prices down for locals as long as they could, not true for this place, nor many others in the area. Can't understand why businesses don't wait until next week, after Memorial Day, when all the schools get out for summer session and it's more crowded and busy. Guess the owner also thinks they have to charge more to pay for the upgrade in the establishment. They've recently glassed in the porch area and seemed to have made some other changes. We were greeted with a great smile and a big hello. You place your order at the counter and choose your table and when your food is ready your buzzer goes off. I had the shrimp basket which came with 10 fresh shrimp and fries and hush puppies. They dip their shrimp in a cornmeal base and season and they were delicious and fried to perfection! My friend said the smash burger was good and he would order again it came with sautéed mushrooms and onions. The lady that was working had a RBF the whole time until her boyfriend came in. the burgers were okay they were supposed to come with lettuce tomato and onion as shown in the picture on instagram and it came with meat and cheese only we brought It back up and showed her the picture and she was still very rude but gave us lettuce. the "loaded fries" came with one scoop of queso we had to go up and ask for more! I'm writing about the food here, even though the title here is Shrimpy's Mini Golf the actual business name is Shrimpy's Grill and Golf. It is a relatively new miniature golf and restaurant establishment located one block off the beach. The mini golf course looks quite nice, but I haven't tried it yet. But we stopped here on a whim after a friend recommended it, who said the food was good, the beer was cold and it was cheap, so okay let's see. There's indoor and outdoor deck seating overlooking the mini golf course, with over a dozen tables and highchairs are available. On our visit, there were 2 employees working, one cooking and one at the register. It's essentially a short-order cook set up, much like a Waffle House or a lot of diners. But here you walk up to the counter, place your order and they give you a pager to let you know your order is ready. We ordered buffalo shrimp and a couple of cheeseburgers, an order of fries, and a Corona light. It took about 20 minutes to receive our food, but there was only one guy cooking and there were a couple of families ahead of us and they also do to-go orders so it's understandable. The buffalo shrimp was good, the cheeseburgers were a little small but were hot and fresh and the veggies were good as well. The French fries were hot and okay too. The beer was cold and the staff was friendly. The big sign out says "all drinks $2.50" so that's good. The menu is surprisingly varied with crab cakes, oysters, and buffalo shrimp with the expected choice like boneless wings, corn dogs, and pretzel bites but the choices of flatbreads, baked potatoes, and po boys round out a pretty good selection of menu items. They have 6 draft beers, 8 canned beers, and 7 kinds of liquor and they're all $2.50. As for prices, this area is a vacation and resort destination and by its very nature, the cost of food in the beach area restaurants can be a bit pricey. But Shrimpy's is a pretty good choice if you're bringing the whole family, want to find something for everybody, and not break the bank in the process. Note: This is not handicap accessible, as the grill is up a flight of stairs and there are no tables on the ground level. Bottom line: it's not fine dining but it's pretty good, and I'm calling it cheap eats. I'll most likely return for a cold beer and cheap eat. The food was fair nothing extra, but there were three families we ordered, one group they didn't even put in their order even though they paid and got a buzzer, had to get money back cause we had already been waiting 40 minutes to get food in an empty restaurant. the staff was rude and we ordered drinks and she just handed us a buzzer didn't even tell us to get drinks out of cooler another couple who were also waiting told us. This little place doesn't look like much from the outside besides mini golf, but they actually have some pretty good food. Their smash burgers are only 6.99 and come with cheese and caramelized onions. They are very good for the price. Their French fires are also very good and seasoned super well. I ordered the shrimp with fries; although it had good flavor I would say the shrimp were over cooked. My husband and I have played mini golf here during off season and had a fun time. They have a small dining space and some outdoor seating as well. Nothing fancy, we ordered pick up so I can't speak on the service. Shrimpy's Mini Golf has just one 18 hole mini golf course, consisting of mostly par-twos. Unlike some other mini golf courses around town, there's not a lot of theming, but the course actually has some challenging holes. The course was in good shape and the grounds were kept up nicely. After golf, we decided to have some ice cream. They have a great selection of flavors, waffle cones, ice cream sundaes, and milkshakes. I chose a scoop of the triple chocolate and a scoop of the cookie dough ice cream. My wife couldn't resist the hot fudge sundae. We got a lot of ice cream for the money. They have an outdoor seating area, which for some reason had the misters on. I'm sure this fine mist feels good when it's 90 degrees outside, but today it was in the upper 60's, cloudy and windy. The misters weren't doing anything for me, that's for sure. Pro Tip: There's a coupon book around town that has a buy one-get one coupon for golf. Also, if you eat at Steamer's (see a previous review), you can bring your receipt for buy one-get one round of golf for free. Closed 1 hour early and that prevented us from playing. We stopped by at 9:15 and employee stated that his boss, Kate, told him to close down early. Website says 10pm and signature store stated 11pm. My husband and I could see the Shrimpy's sign and the giant shrimp from our condo. We had tried a different course the previous night and had a lot of fun mini golfing, had some time, and decided to try Shrimpy's. We had a lot of fun here, too. We thought it would be "easy" since there is only one course to choose from but there are several more challenging holes. There's also misting sprayers all around the course that kept us cool while playing. Afterwards, we got some ice cream that was delicious. We also thought the price was great! Our one and only complaint would have to be the young lady (I won't name names but definitely could) who was working the front counter. Every experience we have had in Gulf Shores has been nothing short of amazing. This girl, however, was the exact opposite. She was rude, had a terrible attitude, and to top it all off had her AirPods in the entire time. She even still had them in when we returned our putters and got ice cream. I'm glad we ended up having a good time afterwards because having her as the first interaction of Shrimpy's kind of got us off to a negative start. This was our local sports bar for 3 days!!! Our condo didn't have TV. The staff was friendly and so accommodating we were able to watch our hockey playoff games until they closed the doors which was so nice. Shrimpy's mini golf is a nice diversion in the Orange Beach area . My husband and I love mini-golf and played here on a Friday afternoon. The holes are challenging and the decor is kitschy fun (giant shrimp and shark!) Shrimpy's has good covid-19 practices -- staff were wearing masks and the clubs/balls are sanitized after use. Tonight the kids wanted to play mini golf but I hate going to places that are so packed you can't move. So after dinner, we set out to find a place. We started at Adventure Island and it was packed. We drove by the $5 all you can play place and it was packed. Finally, we decided to give Shrimpy's a try. There was parking available and no line/no waiting at the cash register, so in we went. There is only one course at Shrimpy's, so if it had been busy, it would have really been a wait. As it was, there was a family in front of us and one right behind us as we played, but we were moving at about the same pace, so there was very little waiting for anyone. The course was mostly par 2 holes, with a few par 3 thrown in periodically. Overall, it was a fun course and it was easy enough for the kids to actually be competitive against the adults. There is an ice cream shop on site, but we had dessert at dinner just before, so we passed on this option... but I'm sure it would have been great on a hot day! Drove from Daphne to gulfshores to play mini golf because they said they were open. We called multiple time and no response. We still went hoping they would be open. We got there noticed everything was on and music was even playing so we tried to get someone to come out and no one responded for 30 min. I've already seen some reviews and saw similar experiences and it's really annoying that we wasted our night on what we were hoping was going to be a great time.
