Dave is one of the amusingly entertaining barista's on the floor, providing smooth coffee-making skills with a dapper hat and stylish (yet not hipster pretend) beard. The team is small, but serves heartedly, roasting their own beans on site brings unique flavours from the beans you are about to partake of. Quaint in size, the entry level has plenty of seats, but the overflow upstairs is even just as great, adding a great height to view the Wellington Square park across the road. Time flies by when you're having a good relaxing time! Whoever first invented yelp is an absolute genius! I decided to have a power drink at the city's glorified Elder Park Cafe. I've spent the last few hours yelping my way through crazy Hindley Street, so I needed somewhere to relax and unwind. The more I yelp and get to know Adelaide a bit better, the more I'm going to miss places like these. When Mario P wrote "This place earns its rating for the view", he wasn't kidding because I highly agree with this absolutely delightful view!

I'm a person who's easily pleased with foods and drink. I'm also mostly broke, and consequently cheap. For this reason, I very rarely eat anything at a café. Mostly, I sample the coffee. I really, really love a macchiato, and one of the reasons I love it is for its consistency. In my experience, it's really difficult for a café to stuff up a macchiato. Of course, it HAS happened, but rarely. For this reason it's hard to lay down some reviews, because wherever I go I walk away happy and satisfied. Maybe this is just because Adelaide has a lot of great places to choose from. At the Elder Park Café I tend to mix things up a bit. They do a great macchiato but, as I've said, so does almost everyone else. What I find they do really well is just a good, old-fashioned latté. They steam the milk a little more than usual, which, for me, is just right. One of my favourite things to do in the world (up there with driving fast in the middle of the night with all my windows down) is to settle down to Elder Park by myself, order a latté and settle down to enjoy the view.

I had kangaroo tartare which was lovely, but I'm just not a fan of uncooked meat - the texture just doesn't do it for me. For the second course I had mullet, followed by beef cheeks and banana cake for desert. The Henschke wines were incredible and the food was presentable and perfectly executed. I would definitely recommend matching the wines to your food. It really made the experience for me! I thoroughly enjoyed it... I don't get to fine dine often but this was definitely a good experience.

This is the first time I have visited these markets, I've been a member of the Willunga Farmers Market for a number of months now and having recently move closer to Adelaide needed to find my new organic fix. Not disappointed in the slightest. With a few more stalls then it's Willunga counterpart you are bound to fill your fridge in a jiffy. The veggies and fruit are outside and your meats and baked goods are kept cool undercover. The buzz is hectic with some stalls requiring a ten minute wait in a line. I admit I did not take up this waste of time as anywhere with a line does not deserve my time or attention. This is generally just my motto for pubs and clubs but if the line is too long then it's goodbye wait times. The produce in these stalls did appear nicer and more varied but this will be for testing in later visits. You can become a member for $65 which will get you a discount of 10%. The produce is already quite cheap as you have cut out the middle man who takes his cut at the shops so purchasing a membership will only make your experience even better and a few weekly buys and you've have recouped this money within a few months anyway.

The Breakfast Piadina of egg, pancetta and parsely was perfect but I eyed off the Swiss Cheese, Mushroom and Egg one for next time. They had some lovely sandwiches, baguettes and salads on offer for lunch too that would be worth a gander and they also cater for the primary school opposite the road. While sipping my coffee parents would come in and write an order on a brown paper canteen bag and kids could pick it up at school at lunchtime - fond memories... This place truly embodies the success that can be created by small business reaching out and making an effort with their local community. They are a Bakery, so they stock all of the normal stuff, but their pies are certainly where it be at! Wonderful little cocktail size bites of mouthwatering minced meat make me want to lock hands with anyone close by and do the dance of joy! Get on it, and get there early, because they NEVER have stock left by the end of trading!
