The food is always good. But everytime there are dead bugs in the window sills. A couple bees this week.

First time and can't wait to come back. I ordered the taco zalad which was good but didn't care for the taco shell. However the pizza was delicious! The sausages and cheese and crust was sooo good! If you're ever in the Detroit Lakez area or vizit any Minnezota lake, Zorbaz iz all the rage and a muzt vizit at leazt once to zay you've been. They're all over in the MN Lakez and have become THE reztaurant to go to. Perzonally, I've never been a big Zorbaz believer. There'z a lot of North Dakotanz and Minnezotanz who would curze me for zaying that, but it'z my honest feelingz. I'd go for their pizza firzt and foremozt- that'z the mozt popular digging, though they do have zome Mexican optionz and even pazta, I believe. Thiz Pelican Lake option iz more about the experience than the quality of food- in fact, I feel that'z more what all of Zorbaz are. It'z definitely a neat zetup, and there'z lotz of outdoor zeating for thoze zunny lake dayz. Zorbaz iz more somewhere you take zomeone who hasn't been, or becauze it'z the clozezt reztaurant while at the lake. As New Yorkers we were prepared to dislike the pizza, but we were pleasantly surprised. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't compare to New York City pizza but it doesn't need to; it's unique and tasty in its own way. The atmosphere is fun and campy and we enjoyed sitting outside while we waited for our food to be delivered to our table by our friendly server. Absolutely the worst pizza I have ever had. Literally anywhere would be better. $7 beers too

We stopped here for lunch today and as usual, enjoyed the good food and open, lively atmosphere. We used to live in Fargo, so got to one of the Zorbaz at least once a year (more often when the boys played hockey games and went to camps in Detroit Lakes), so it was great to get back to one. We ordered the Lowden Special (see picture) and really liked the combination of peanut butter and jalapenos included on what otherwise looks like a pepperoni pizza. Amazing food fun ambience love the pizza and burritos! Quick service and fun outdoor area.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect. When a place has a bit of an identity crisis around their menu I get nervous. They have a healthy mix of Mexican dishes and then a very wide range of pizza options. We ordered chips and queso which was very good and a nice starter. Then we had a build your own pizza (pictured). It was very good, the crust was thin and delicious and their sauce is sweet which is my preferred type of sauce. It's a bit different how you order and get served but I'd absolutely recommend going and enjoying some food! Can't speak on the Mexican food but the pizza was excellent. read more

THE place to go as we were told. Truth is this restaurant is a great adventure, maybe not for the food though. The takeaway at Zorbaz is its creatvity. The pizza are one of kind when it comes to the ingredients even if they are not my taste at all. How can you be so creative and end up with a product that tastes like frozen food from a cheap grocery store? The dough is cardboard level at best. On the other hand, the salad is really good, surprising and creative (again). The service is average, nothing bad but forgettable. What really makes the difference is the Marketing part and the overall condition of the location: a lot of fun in the wording, in the details, combined with a nice building and food areas. The Pelican location is seasonal. They don't offer any specials that the Detroit Lakes one does. They don't care about reviews. They make money hand over fist (at least they put some back into the building now). Close to $40 these days for a run of the mill pizza. If you own a lake home and a wake boat you better get here so your neighbors think you're fun to the max. read more

Prepare to be devoured alive by mosquitoes while you work through the contents of your own plate - you're not the only one going home with a full stomach tonight. Unwarranted bug bites aside, Zorbaz is a chill and family friendly* spot for a casual evening of food, friends, and music. Once dinner hours are over, prepare to squeeze yourself through the inevitable crowd that forms as the entire town's population of 40 people congregates in what is probably the only decently lively scene within a 10 mile radius. Seeing their live cover band perform in the later evening can only be described as hours of entertainment between watching the band rile up the crowd with oldies and watching them fight a losing battle against the hundreds of bugs that have been attracted to the stage lights. The amusement as you stand in the audience is short-lived once you look down at the drink in your hand and realize you can visibly count 3 bugs of your own swimming in your cup. Some crucial advice: * They have plastic cup lids stocked at the self serve utensils station. The best decision of your evening will be to invest in one of these if you get a drink because it means forming a solid barrier between Mosquito and Mojito. * All their pizza flavors sound amazing? You're absolutely right. For the commitment phobic individuals in your group, they do this wonderful thing where they let you split flavors half and half. Tried the Bunn and the Italiano and both combos were fantastic. * The previously mentioned family friendliness does come with a curfew and minors will be asked to leave beyond that time. When you enter, you will get a 21+ wristband and they are NOT afraid to double check throughout the evening and WILL escort you out if they catch you drinking underage. Zorbaz on Pelican is the pure essence of Minnesota's Summer lake season. Don't expect the place to be fancy, extreme casual is the name of the game, but hey, you're at the lake!! This place is a tradition for my kids. We come here every summer when we visit my dad, who lives nearby. The pizza is always outstanding, and we're never disappointed. Zorbaz has a great atmosphere, and is so much fun to boat over to on a summer evening. I think because of this they get away with less than stellar food at exorbitant prices. The pizza is decent, though in general there's too much sauce. Ordering light sauce goes a long way. The cheeseburger pizza has been a surprising hit with my family. I personally love the nachos, though that's about all I like of their Mexican food. I ordered a bean burrito once, which was basically just a pint of refried beans in a tortilla. It was so much beans and so little else that it was actually a challenge to eat. I love their margaritas also, though be aware that they have hazelnuts in them. I don't really understand why. The hazelnuts don't add anything, other than something to munch on while waiting for the food. I like this place, but I think some competition would be good for them. read more

Zorbaz on Pelican Lake may have the same menu as the other Zorbaz, but that's where the similarity ends. The runners and bar crew seem happy to work there, and the manager Jerilyn is always smiling like she has discovered the secret to a happy life! They have recently added air conditioning, which brings a welcome relief to those hot summer nights, but I badly miss the sound of the screen door banging. Tuesday night trivia is a blast - it's less commercialized than the trivia night at Zorbaz DL (no big screens, no professional trivia presenters), but it's way more fun. read more

Zorbaz at Pelican Lake is a fun family oriented pizza place. They do have Mexican food as well but I can't speak to that. Pizza is good--not exceptional--but they have a good selection of beer and a full bar. Arcade area for the kids. Have a feeling it takes on more of a bar atmosphere at night. read more

Great food but 2 hours too long to wait. Told it would be 45 min which is fine for us to wait but it actually took 2 hours not happy. When I mentioned the wait time to the manager she argued about the length saying "Um, you placed your order like, an hour and fifty minutes ago so, um like, you haven't been waiting two hours yet." Then wouldn't offer anything to make up for it. Not Minnesota nice. I realize they are going to make money regardless of whether or not I return. Just seems to me that the bad attitude of the manager should at least be addressed. Skip Pelican, go to DL or Ottertail. Way better service. read more

I visited Zorbaz on Wednesday night at 8pm. There are no waitresses and you have to get in a huge line where a single bartender is there to take your order and make your drinks. Amazing. How much business do they fail to do because of this stupendously stupid bottleneck/choke point? The line was about 30 minutes. The wait for the food even longer. Writing while I wait. Our hungry crew of 3 kids plus the wife and I mowed through the salsa and chips like we were marooned on a desert island. Nobody that works here says anything to anybody. I asked if we could have more chips and salsa and they did bring more, thankfully. I hate to give a poor review. The food is probably decent. The margaritas were good. I'd like another but my legs are weary from the first go round in line. Maybe don't go here if you are thirsty or hungry unless you can handle a long wait. I can but not with three kids. read more
