They have a good selection, and you can order almost anything you need to be shipped to the store and then pick it up. Prices are competitive without that "extra cost" that seems to get added by a lot of businesses because we are so far from the mainland. (I get it, transport here is expensive!). When I place orders they call me to tell me they are ready so I can come pick them up. The two downsides are: 1) the app. If you do curbside pick up with the app, no one brings it out to you. You have to go in, wait in line at customer service, and pick it up yourself. And 2) usually when you go into a home depot the people who work there know a lot about the tools and supplies and how to use them. It's pretty clear that some employees here don't do any of their own home improvements. However, the employees will go out of their way to help you and are super friendly. So that's a huge plus. Just know that you have to come already knowing every single little thing you'll need for your job, including sizes and types, since you won't be able to just ask the staff what else is needed to change the faucet in your sink.

I went to Island Doors and Windows for a double hurricane replacement patio door. I was told that…read morethey don't come to measure and make estimates but that if I sent them the dimensions, they would give me an estimate within two weeks. I sent the dimensions the same day. Two weeks later, he called with questions and said he would get the estimate to me within two days. Two weeks later I called again and left a message, then another two weeks and left another message. Never received a call back. I was telling this story to a neighbor who suggested I just look on the door and find the manufacturer and call them. I found the manufacturer who had great customer service, was able to look at the doors via connected video, watch me measure, and find serial numbers, etc. with my cell phone. In the end, they sent me the parts to repair the door which would have cost $6,000 to replace and I did it all for about $800. The doors now look and operate like new. So, if you're trying to work with Island Doors and Windows to replace and having little luck, check the side of your door for a plate with the manufacturer's information. Maybe they can help you with much less hassle and cost!
