This is a beautiful store with a well curated selection of high quality, stylish goods. Now, I was…read morehere in the midst of winter, so they were stocked with sturdy leather boots, warm coats and super soft flannel shirts. This being more of a men's shop, I would have happily purchased one of everything for my husband's wardrobe, and he would have worn it all. However, the prices being what they are (totally reasonable for the quality of the items, please note) going on a binge shop here isn't exactly something I would do. If you're looking to invest in craftsmanship, and a quality piece that will last you for years to come, then this is absolutely the shop for you. The items here definitely all fall within a particular style: rugged yet stylish and well-tailored. I hate to say it, but this is the dream shop for a lumbersexual, if anyone actually considers themselves one of those. Barbour, Penfield, Woolrich, Arc'Teryx and Fred Perry pieces line the shelves and the shoe selection consists of Camper, Hunter, and Wolverine. Great stuff, and a good range of prices, too. There is a lovely, but very small, selection of women's clothing, shoes and bags, too. The store is open to an adjoining space called Paloma where I perused several Kate Spade and Mackage handbags, a Fred Perry parka that I covet, and a sweet little Barbour dress. They have women's Camper and Wolverine shoes, too -- much the same aesthetic but for ladies. Great shop, friendly staff that greets you and then lets you browse to your own beat. I like you, Downcity Outfitters. Next time I need a coat, a flannel or a great pair of boots, you'll be the first place I look.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE! Complete scam and absolutely horrible service. This is easily the worst…read moreonline store I've ever dealt with in the US. I ordered a Columbia jacket for $150 via the Shop app, but what actually arrived was completely unacceptable. The package had already been opened, and the jacket didn't have any tags on it, making it look used, refurbished, or possibly fake. To make matters worse, the size didn't fit, but trying to return it turned into a complete nightmare. Their official email addresses are disabled and bounce back with system errors, and nobody ever answers their phone numbers--it just goes straight to voicemail. Downcity Outfitters simply takes your money, sends suspicious goods, and ghosts you so you can't get a refund or return the item. Save your $150 and stay far away from this place!
