I went in today to grab a couple candles for my grandma's 92nd birthday. I have struggled in the past with the customer service here. But today was so different. I was instantly greeted when I came in. The gal that greeted me also checked me out. She was super sweet. After I purchased a few things, I walked back and asked her if they sold lighters. They were conviently at the register. Got rang up again and made my way out the door. I appreciate how nice the gal was today. In the past, the associates were so rude which always threw me off. You work at such a fun store to be so rude and unhappy. I stopped coming in for a while. I have always found it fun to come in and see all the fun stuff they have. All the fun stuff for every holiday, I miss that. But today was a special visit. Had to make sure I got the fun candles and birthday hats for my grandma's special day. There's not that many birthdays left under her belt so I have to make sure it was special for her. read more

When I lived in San Diego, my go-to was Party City. Loved walking into that store and sometimes not buying a darn thing but just looking at all the cool things. While we don't have a party city in Boise / Meridian, we do have Zurchers and the glee I get from seeing all the party stuff in all the different themes is outstanding. For Halloween this year...my Pound Fitness peeps put on a fundraiser for Camp Rainbow Gold to help raise money for kids who are suffering with cancer. So for this event, the assignment was "dress up as your favorite rock artist" My entire life, well, since this band first hit the scene, Rusted Root has always been my favorite band. I've seen them 38x and hope the reunite so I can shows to that number. HOWEVEREEE! Fleetwood Mac is also my favorite band and I've loved them since I was a wee boy and anyone who knows me at all would know that the Queen of Rock herself, a true rock GODDESS! Ms Stevie Nicks is HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE ROCK ARTIST! There's no comparison imo. The woman has been through hell and back, been in the industry for decades and decades and has come out on top and the world is blessed AFF to still have her. So if you couldn't guess by now..I dressed up as Stevie Nicks haha! Yeah, I may be gay, but this was no gay guy in drag. This was my homage to the woman I have loved since I was so small (I'll attach a pic or 3 lol) I have never been to a Zurchers. I needed the iconic top hat. Looked on Amazon, but because I have an enormous head, I needed to actually try a top hat on lol. The one I bought..still didn't fit flush, but was close enough. I found one at Zurchers for a whopping.. $5 lol. It did exactly as I needed and with the help of my roommate, we added the feathers/Stevie style decorations to it. Zurchers is quite the place and I'm honestly shocked I had never been before this. They have everything! The staff was kinda .. meh. Not engaging at all, but I mean, most of them are teenagers and most teenagers don't want anything to do with anyone except whoever is on their phones lol. Still, that doesn't take away from how much I love this place and how happy I was to see a huge selection of everything and a great selection of top hats :) Not sure what else can be said. Zurchers is such a fun store. You don't have to be having a party to come upon some fun stuff. They have little paper doilies in assorted sizes and colors that you could use for crafting. Little bags in different materials and patterns and colors that you can use for holidays or birthdays or even classroom treat days. The purpose for my visit though was for sandals. The sandals from Zurchers are very popular with the kids right now. And they are only $9. They also have plastic faux Birkenstocks for about $11. Generally, though, I find their prices to be a little on the high side, but they have really good clearance items. I was able to find a lot of cute things for some upcoming parties on clearance for only $1 - - better style and quality than the dollar store. I also found some boxes of plastic knives for 50-cents. We were at Zurcher's in Boise and we were disappointed in the customer service. After three of our balloons were popped by the two of the staff members, they didn't apologize for popping them and we had to bring it up first to the guy who handed us our balloons acting like nothing happened. They were even kind of smirking when they were popping them (not sure if they did it out of nervousness or if they thought it was funny). We asked if we could get a refund for the air of the three balloons they popped; the girl (we think she is a manager) said in a snarky tone "outside balloons." We understand that their policy says that they aren't responsible for outside balloons popping and that they can't replace the balloons, but the fact that we can't even get a refund for the air that we didn't even get due to our balloons popping is not okay. We think they should change the policy to them not being responsible for replacing outside balloons that pop with their balloons, but they will be responsible refunding the air in the balloons that pop. We contacted Zurcher's by email and they responded with "Thank you for contacting Zurchers online support. Unfortunately because we do not know the quality of the balloons bought outside of Zurchers, we do not offer any kind of refund for the balloons or helium. We do apologize for this." Clearly they don't care about us not being happy or that their store has terrible customer service. We will never shop here again. read more

Oh Zurchers...you with your themed party favors and balloon variety, you with your costumes, fake gold medals, and tissue paper olympic torches. You, my friend, are a party planners paradise. Planning a party and don't know where to begin? Should I do a theme? If so, what theme should I do? Come here and be inspired. Also, Zurchers has a trinkets for every occasion. Have a team of 6th grade basketball players and looking for basketball team themed trinkets? They've got it. Basketball hackie sacks and basketball key chains and basketball minis. And, boom. Happy team. They really do have something for every occasion. I've thrown cocktails parties and kid birthday parties and graduation parties with their help. Well, more with the help of the stock they carry on their shelves. Though, the service is generally fine, it's not outstanding. This is more a--explore, find, and pay--sort of place--rather than a--get great party planning advice sort of place. I recommend doing your research prior. Or wander, be inspired, and coordinate accordingly. But, do that? And, you'll leave satisfied. Get to it! read more

Who knew that such a place existed?! They have (practically) EVERYTHING you could ever need for throwing a party. My first venture out here was to buy my friend a Lion pinata for her birthday (she loved it). Then, I realized that Zurchers is a party planner's best friend. I come here at least twice a month loading up on sparkly boxes, tissue paper, confetti, and other bright/shiny/happy things that take party details to the next level. Price point: Fair. The only place I think you'll find these things for cheaper is the dollar store, but that is very hit or miss. When I come to Zurchers, I might be spending a few dollars more than I would at other places, but I save on time. Zurchers always has what I need, so for that...I don't care if it costs me a couple of extra dollars. read more

It's one thing to hate your job and be rude but it's another thing to be in the party business and in a store where people are coming in to get things to provide for a party which is generally a happy ordeal. I think this place is great. A fairly good selection of themes and fun novelty party stuff. What I was not impressed with was the staff. The workers were unimpressive and their lack of enthusiasm or interest in me or my child's party was obvious. It is a bit pricey so I expected better service. It's tough because they are one of the only party stores but the Meridian location has better service and I think I'll make the drive instead of deal with apathetic staff. read more

I am giving this place 5 stars for their selection. I mean WOW! They have everything under the sun and if you can't find it here, it probably doesn't exists. However, i will say that the staff look less than excited to be working here which is interesting because it's a party supply store and well, parties and fun! Store and products are fine. Service is pretty atrocious. We went in today to get some party supplies. When the workers weren't giggling, talking, and ignoring waiting customers, they were being fairly rude (one young lady, in particular, rolled her eyes during an interaction, wouldn't respond to a question, tried to leave the counter area before handing over the purchase, and then proceeded to toss the purchase onto the counter without a second-glance. Seriously. She tossed it towards us with a glare.) Looking at these reviews, I see that this is a pattern. Too bad, because the store is fine and in a convenient location for us. Received the absolute worst service I've ever had tonight anywhere. Needed to return and purchase a few items. The sales girl who was helping me kept hitting the wrong buttons all the while chatting about what she was going to eat with three work collegues one of which was across the room consequently causing her to yell over me. When she wasn't able to get the receipt to scan after the 4th or 5th time for the return she put it down on the counter and walked away without a word to me. Another sales girl came to the counter and began ringing the new items through before processing the return. I had to stop her twice and tell her we were supposed to be doing a return first and then a tax exempt purchase for the rest. She seemed utterly confused when I told her, as I had the previous girl that the transaction was tax exempt. She wasn't sure about how to remove the tax. She was interrupted and she herself interrupted the purchase several times to discuss their food order. In the end she said she "thinks" she did the tax exempt and return transaction correctly. So frustrating. read more

We love going to the Zurchers on Milwaukee in Boise. The selection available is amazing and we have never had any complaints about or problems with the service. We are frequent customers at this Zurchers. It is a great place to shop for fun and party for kids and adults. read more
