It's something people should see, so history is not forgotten. The guide was great - giving lots of the history. The museum was just so sad. Lives lost.

I implore you, book your tour as early in the day as possible or you will likely need to stay overnight in the nearby village to continue into the next day. It is A LOT. I pray that history like this does not repeat itself. If you are staying in Prague before or after your visit to Terezin, please make sure that you go to the correct bus pickup after you take the metro to the transfer. We had the incorrect platform information from an outdated guidebook and if you do not know the Czech language, it can be difficult to determine which platform to go to.

(Be prepared to find yourself extremely moved, in the end. We both wept. We've all heard the names, but the area is lost to those of us who learned our history in places like the USA. Lots to read, but well worth it. Must read German (or Polish). Texts mesh well with artifacts, and all is well-organized. Probably one of the best museums of history/culture/geography that I can remember visiting anywhere. Beautiful setting in three early modern houses at the center of Gorlitz, in the Untermarkt. Really takes three or four hours to go through carefully. Accepts the ICOM card.
