However, the junk removal was much more costly than other companies I've used in the past. The worst part of the experience was that the junk guys tracked mud on the carpets through the entire path from the front door to an upstairs bedroom. They "compensated" me by discounting the price by $45 which was something, but didn't make up for the two hours of carpet cleaning I had to do after they left. Personally, this will be the last time I use Jolly Junk.

I wrote them a check and went back inside. Within a minute, I heard a crash and went outside to find that our power lines can been ripped down from the connecting point to the house. We were not outside to witness this, but I ran to the alley to see the Jolly Junk truck driving away as the wires now lay down across our yard and hanging low in the alley. I called Jolly Junk to express the issue but it was quickly defensive that we didn't actually witness it. Fair enough, except that there was nobody else in the alley. The incident itself was frustrating as we need to ensure with an electrician that nothing is wrong, but the lack of accountability is worse. I imagine their service - albeit expensive - is fine. But if anything goes wrong, I hope you won't have to work with Lindsay or her team. We'll certainly be using other services from now on.

They're very well priced and worth their weight in gold because they have no problem getting big items out. He continuously lied about when the job would be finished, asked for more money (which we gave him in hopes that it would motivate him to finish the job!), and his subcontractors stopped showing up because he spent the money we paid him that he was supposed to use to pay them. By the time we decided to fire him less than half the work we hired him to do had been completed. We paid him far more money than we should have, but just wanted the nightmare to stop. But after we fired him, he had the nerve to sue us for the remaining balance! On top of it all, the work he did do was done wrong because he took shortcuts and showed absolutely no pride in his work. This "business" is a complete joke run by a thief. If I could rate it zero stars I would.

He was easy to work with, reliable, and communicated well. Best of all, his work was top-notch. We solicited two other bids and he beat them both on price, and came sooner than they did. I didn't take a "before" picture", but wish I had. Place looks completely different, and you can't see the expertly laid-in drainage. He even spread the half-yard of leftover topsoil in our front yard and evened it out. This was not agreed to, he went above and beyond. I've seen others comment about waiting for him to get back about an estimate - He's a one-man operation and you may need to be a bit flexible on communication as he's his own scheduler, business manager, and worker. I found his communication just fine. Really glad I found JR.
