We had an excellent experience with JR of Perfection Hauling and Excavating. Hired him to grade our backyard, add some drainage, remove debris, and add topsoil at our new (old) house in Arvada. JR came up with a good drainage plan on the spot during the estimate. He was easy to work with, reliable, and communicated well. Best of all, his work was top-notch. We solicited two other bids and he beat them both on price, and came sooner than they did. I didn't take a "before" picture", but wish I had. Place looks completely different, and you can't see the expertly laid-in drainage. He even spread the half-yard of leftover topsoil in our front yard and evened it out. This was not agreed to, he went above and beyond. I've seen others comment about waiting for him to get back about an estimate - He's a one-man operation and you may need to be a bit flexible on communication as he's his own scheduler, business manager, and worker. We had a pretty nasty mound of dirt and rock that the previous owner had built a fire pit on that needed hauling away. It was in a tight spot, and abutted onto our back porch and stairs. JR came in and had the whole job done in about 45 minutes. Not a scrape on the remaining structures, and he tidied up nicely afterwords. Not only that, but he came in under what he quoted us on the phone. He was professional, on time, and extremely polite. JR came out to remove a retaining wall with a large two level mortared flagstone patio set in concrete. JR committed to removal and did an incredible job of the actual removal and grading the left over ground for drainage purposes. It was impressive to watch him with his equipment wreak (good) havoc on the patio and leave my backyard as clean as he did. Extremely professional, extremely courteous, extremely committed, and excellent at what he does! I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs this type of work. JR is a Gem. Perfection Hauling and Excavation needs emphasis on the Perfection in the name. JR is professional, very fair and reasonable in pricing, respectful, punctual, and hardest work ethic of any professional I have hired to help me with my house. JR is skilled and precise using his brand new equipment. He has a conscience and proved to me he would not take financial advantage like so many service professionals do (well, this and that went wrong so the Actual Price is $....) Initially, I hired JR to haul concrete which I had been given quotes up to 4x what he had charged. It sat in my driveway for months. I was skeptical based on other quotes I was given the "actual" price would be more. He charged me exactly what he quoted and did a supreme job cleaning up. I then hired him to finish a hardscape drainage project in my backyard which I had already paid another contractor several thousand dollars last March (my bad, but he was a son of a family friend) - he never returned to finish the job but did leave the pile of concrete in my driveway that JR fixed. My backyard looks amazing!!! He put in new window wells, corrected the slope, added a French drain, fixed the gutters and compacted many inches of soil around the foundation. JR worked past dark to get the job done. JR's work ethic is like one I have never seen - I grew up on a farm in Iowa and thought the Midwestern work ethic was the gold standard. He came with a wheel loader and a heavy duty trailer to remove a large amount of dirt, rock, and concrete. He's someone you can trust and went above and beyond the entire project! He also helped me remove a seriously cemented galvanized pole from my yard, even though he had to fight a swarm of angry hornets! He was kind enough to use his equipment to bend back our chain link gate so that it will close easier! I cannot say enough good things about the work he did.
